  1. It has been a bit quite from my site due a personal situation. Besides that I also have alot of work at the moment (I am a freelance webdeveloper) so I didn't do anything on the map and probaly won't be able to do that untill the weekend.

    Its not that there is not room to park things there. Its that there have been no scripts written so the vehicles can return to that spot or that certain types of vehicles have been assigned to park there. Im sure its something that might be able to be done, although I have no clue how.

    What you have seen in the editor are some virtual object that I made for personal use. In 1.6 I editted the script so I also could send brush and second battalion chief to the firestation. Didn't do anything with that anymore.

  2. I have 911 FR and tried to use technition to fix the hydrant, it says theres nothing to fix.

    And what about the electicboxes? Do you get these events? Because it seems that the events of the deluxe version are happening to you, but 911/FR isn't build to handle that..

    Witch is pretty F* up because that would mean that I have to make 2 sepperat files / versions

    I did that,i will re install,also how do you fix the hydrants,i have several now that are spraying water everywhere#

    I know you added hydrant events,but tried several methods to turn them off,but no one seems to be able to fix em....lol

    You can fix them witha technician / engineer. There are only 2 hydrants at the moment then can brakedown and I tested them both (in em4 deluxe) and they worked fine. Don't how 911/FR or em4 normal responds to this kind of events..

Good news about the update,also it might be worth doing this,before you install the new mod,ie as in over write the hoppah map,i copied the entire 1.7 los ang mod to my desktop,so when i want to play hoppahs map,as i like both,i can just drag that folder back into my mods folder and it all back with hoppah's map,just a thought,maybe many have already done this.....keep up the work all ya modders out there :1046275747_biggthumpup:

    Also i have done some more file changes,i now dont get any police calls,earthquakes etc,and i only get big fires which are more fun,i dont mind the other stuff,but i hated the bomber and arsonist with all myself.....i left the rabid dog and demonstration in just for fun.....

    Not sure if you know this,but bridge 3 looks unfinished on my map,just thought you want to know

    26-10-2008 - 1.2 released!

    The new version is out. Hopefully with a fix for 911/FR. Also at a 3e bridge over the river. Itsn't a big update, but still an update. Again you need to download both files, the floor and the other one depending on your version of em4.

    Changes in version 1.2- Fixed the missing boxes at the camp ground

    - Added several hydrant events

    - Added several electricbox events

    - Added contaiminated cloud event

    - Added suicide person event (person walking on railroad)

    - Added a 3th bridge over the river

    - Added some more traffic

    - Did some updating on the map (added people, object, animals at some places)

    I am not really sure if the 911/fr bug is fixed, but I gues it's. I can't think of anything else that causes the problem then some virtual object that whore in version 1.1 and 1.0. These objects are not in the normal freeplay maps so I removed then in my map.

    If the problem still excist, well then the search for the solution continue's. That are some new small events, but only a few. I will add more later..

  6. You know, today I played the game for about 2 hours (without crashes) to test it. I got all kind of events that there are and everything worked fine (version 1.2 > and its'nt released yet) I just don't understand that you guys have that many problems. Allright there is a big issue with 911/FR but I hope that it's fixed in 1.2.

    And offcourse that game crashes sometimes, but lets be honest, did a emergency verhicle never got stucked in the standard freeplay map? Did it never crashed? Did they alway's found the fasted route? Well I don't think so. The game engine isn't that good, I am trying to let this map work on that .... game engine, but I can't fix everything, I didn't made the game and I started with this map with just as much knowledge as you guys have from em4 modding so plz go easy on me. I am doing my best and I know itsn't perfect but he, you got it for free. What do you wan't more?

    I you want to help me, then say witch version of em4 you have, add the logfile if possible, or make a screenshot of the problem. I can't explain every without any details on the problem. I can't fix anything if I don't know what causes the problems.

  7. i was wondering if you could change the spawn point for the police station? what i mean is when i call a police car for example, to the center of the map it goes to the end of the driveway and stops. but when i manually move it to the the main road that the station's front is on it will go anywhere. so maybe instead of it spawning to the end of the driveway could you make it at the road? ty

    Same here, except mine doesn't go anywhere on the north part of the map. Not to be a pain in the @$$ but when abouts do you think 1.2 will be available? I can't play freeplay anymore because of the bug where the units don't move, so i'm just sticking with the missions. Thanks.

    911/FR has a pathfinding problem with my map and I am trying to fix that. And when it will be available? Well when it's finished. I am still wondering if this problem also existed in 1.0 ? (in combinaton with 911/FR)

  8. I got Emergency 4 Deluxe.

    Ok, well then you have to tell me witch road and from where to where. (maybe some screens) I can't fix all, because the pathfinder of em4 is responsable for that, but I will look at it.

    I love the new map, so much to do. But since I started using the new version I have been getting CTDs at random. Not sure why. There doesn't seem to be any reason. Anyway I've included some logs.

    This looks like your problem (I think)

    OpenGL vendor: ATI Technologies Inc.

    OpenGL renderer: ATI MOBILITY RADEON XPRESS 200

    renderer-string: ATI;RD;RDN

    The map is heavier (graphicly) then the normal map (more models etc), and you are playing this on a notebook? (If I look at your graphic card) So I think that is the problem.

  9. 1) go into my computer

    2) click on the disc where the game is installed ex.: (C:)

    3) click on file that says program files.

    4) click on the file that says Wizard Works.

    5) click on the 911 first Responders/EM4 file.

    6) click where it says mods, and then click on whatever version of LA mod you want to install the new map in.

    7) click on maps.

    8) finally move the files from the map folder one by one into the mod's map file and make a back up of the original files, incase somthing goes wrong or you want to play on the old map again.

    that's how I do it.

  10. I think you are going to have to add a bridge in the bottom middle of the map. Every unit has a major problem getting to scene calls on that lower road and once they are confused, they just stop.

    I quote myself:

    I am thinking about adding a 3e bridge for over the little river. It will be located south of the FS2 and then left of the church (If you look from the villa's). The idea/problem behind it is that the vehicles are still to stupid when they need to go to the villa's, or if you send a police car to the church for example.

    Not to mention the trucks for FS1 that want to go trough the shopping area over the river..

    So a 3e bridge might be the solution. Allright it is not that easily add in, but it is possible. Screenshots of it will follow soon.

  11. The map is great w00d. Keep up the good work.

    It's just that I found a bug. I don't know if anyone has posted this after the release of v1.1. but I'll give it a try. I still experience that police cars etc. drives on the sidewalk when they are responding to a scene. And sometimes they don't even find the road but tries to drive on the gras instead.

    Witch version of em4? 911/FR maybe? Otherwise I need more details.

    My fire trucks have a hard time getting out of firestation 1's parking lot and pathfinding, I have to keep clicking places first to get the firetruck to finally get it where I want it to go. It also crashes alot, don't get me wrong, I love the map, just a little buggy that's all. No trouble.

    plz read a few posts up, it's allready know that 911/FR has some major problems with the map.

    Same here, also when I try to leave to the main menu after I fail miserble it crashes. :gaehnen:

    Here is one logfile. If you notice something and want me to test something specific please PM me. Ill be glad to help any way I can.

    My main issues in this game were

    Stretcher crew stuck at hospital

    Criminals at Police department stuck in parking lot(they get out of car and stand there)

    Police vehicles stop at edge of lot area when they are called out from the garage. If you pull them out onto the road they seem to respond fine from there.

    Here is a second log file for you, Wood.

    This game I got a fire off to the side of the freeway. First I tried sending both engines from station 1 at once. They both had the sirens and lights on but would not pull out of quarters. Then I tried just sending one engine and it did the same thing. I know the freeway is a bit of an issue so If you want anything more just let me know.

    I hope you can help me load the new freeplay map by explaining how to do that. I do not have the Deluxe but just EM4/911 First Responders. Just to let you know I'm a former Volunteer member @ Benicia Vlunteer unit In Benicia, Ca in Solono County. Now I live in Ocean View, De.

    Download The New Freeplay Map Version 1.1

    Download links below the instructions. Read the instructions first!!! I made them with a reason.

    Installation Instructions:

    1. Download and unpack the New_Freeplay_Floor.zip file. (25mb's! large)

    2. Move the folder 'Los Angeles Mod v1.7' to your Emergency 4/Mods folder. (I Couldn't Find that Folder)

    3. This is a universal file, so it's for both versions and won't replace any file.

    Now you should have in your mods\Los Angeles Mod v1.7\maps the following file: newfreeplay.eft

    (So you don't have to rename it!)

    4. Download and unpack the New_Freeplay_deluxe.zip OR New_Freeplay_normal.zip file. (Depending on you version of em4)

    5. Move the folder 'Los Angeles Mod v1.7' to your Emergency 4/Mods folder.

    6. Make sure all older files will be overwritten (otherwise you did something wrong).

  14. Well it seems that I need to obtain a version of 911/FR. The problem is in that version of em4. Maybe somebody can send me a log file after doing the follewing:

    start 911/fr > load LAMOD > start a new endless freeplay (my map) > and only dispatch a verhicle from with you know that it haves a problem. So for example only dispatch 1 fire engine. Stop the game after that and upload the log file here. Maybe I can find something in there.

    I will try to obtain 911/fr here in the netherlands

    And another question, where these issue also in the 1.0 release of this map?

  15. Let me preface this by saying you did an amazing job on this. I wanted to do a new freeplay map for awhile, but I'm way too lazy. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I feel like I'm looking a gift horse in the mouth even posting this.

    I ran into this issue today while playing. My ambulance got to the hospital. The EMTs got out with the stretcher and just sat there standing by the door. I sped the game up and they just sat there some more. I put them back in the ambulance, left the hospital and told it to go back. It went back and the same thing happened. They just stood there. I did that a few more times. I finally just stopped playing. They never went inside.

    Then I had a cardiac arrest up by the campground. The ambulance gets there. There's a guy rocking out to a boom box, another one sitting by a campfire, but I'll be damned if anyone was having a heart attack. I searched for that patient for a good 5 minutes.

    I don't know if I installed things wrong and they're isolated bugs, or if more people are experiencing these, too.

    Witch version do you have? I just can't simulated you problem. I played yesterday for an hour or so and didn't see that problem. About the camp ground, plz make a screenshot, because there are so many civils out there that I don't know witch one is the problem.

    Well you can change that in an xml file called freeplay.xml or freeplay_d.xml. It's somewhere in you mods\LA folder

    small bug: looked at the train and saw that the textures on it is mirrored on the sides, so one side have "union pacific" right on 1 side but wrong on another, and the opposite with the train number :) i dont know who made the train but looking at the cars and containers i can see that it should be possible to fix that small bug :)

    and btw, great thing with the 3rd bridge :)

    I didn't made the trainmodel, I think hoppah did, because before lamod 1.7 the train was red and now it's yellow.

    Ya know, I'm not one to usually step in on posts like this but wow....just wow....

    He spends all of this time making this for us - at no cost, mind you - and you come in here and cry and moan like you paid him for this and have any right to make demands.

    This was something he put a lot of time and effort into, has been taking his time on these boards helping us - again, at no cost to us - and you have the audacity to come in here and post something like that.

    Really, do us all a favor and stop using the mods. Posts like this, spitting in the creators' faces, will convince them to stop doing any mods at all.
