  1. Yeah, I saw that. I think that they said that there would only be roof ventilation. The description on the Halligan hook says that it can be used to break windows. I was wondering if things had changed, and if they had added vertical ventilation into the game.
  2. I'm wondering if we will be able to break windows to vent and open ceilings to search for hidden fire. They must be giving us these tools for a reason. Interesting............
  3. Did you ever put any pics of TL 46 up?
  4. Looking good. Thanks for the update.
  5. We've been dumped on with snow where I am. More expected tomorrow and next week. This mod sure would help to warm the spirits..........
  6. True, but the rig itself carries no water.
  7. I think that it will probably be pretty self explanatory with the exception of technical rescues. Engines: hoses and water. Ladder Trucks: ladders, saws, extrication equipment. Squads: Capable of operating as an engine, truck, or light rescue co. Also have Hazmat capability. Rescue Co: have just about every tool out there, but no water. Hazmat: hazmat suits, meters, decon, etc. There are going to be 12 tutorial stages. They are doing this so that we have a chance to familiarize ourselves with the various companies and how they work. Let's face it. There is going to be reudundancy. Squad 18 or 10 Truck can cut up a car just as easily as Rescue 1 can. If they are closer, then they get the job. What I am looking forward to seeing is whether I will need all of the manpower and apparatus that FDNY gets on a 10-75 (working fire). Will I be calling for a second often? Will I be using the special companies on the fireground? A second alarm fire seems like a huge amount of firefighters and apparatus for one player to manage. Will I be using all 6 members of my Rescue or Squad companies? Will there be lots of rescues to be made? Hopefully, we'll be getting these answers sooner than later.
  8. Weird, but I kinda had the same feeling.........oh well.........
  9. My bad, I thought there were pictures of FDNY rigs.
  10. Page 1 shows Engine 10 hooked up to a hydrant.
  11. There should be hydrants every 300 feet or so in NYC. Hopefully the mod will reflect this.
  12. I'm taking it as photos, youtube videos, etc, which introduces the mod. I'm not sure how accurate my take on it is though......
  13. I'm hoping that they drop the media package a week or so before the release. Kinda like a movie trailer. That would help avoid potential problems......
  14. That's a pretty good idea. I would be ok with the 10-75 button, and a button to call an extra alarm, as well as individual units. The FAST trucks and TSU, high rise units, lobby control units really don't have any real use in this game in its current form.
  15. Good question. For super realism, the SCBA gauge would be a mini version of the Scott gauge. Also is the vibra-alert going to sound when a ff is out of air?
  16. I kinda like it the way that it is now. The reason being "realistic" doesn't really work in this mod. In my department, two guys would be on a hoseline, with an officer supervising. He may carry a tool and vent. If we have to make a long stretch, then he may act as a backup while the backup guy chases kinks. Most of the time a backup isn't needed. I like putting 4 hoselines on the fire, especially if I have an arsonist that the cops are having a hard time nabbing. Any officer worth a damned isn't standing by the rig while his guys are fighting fire. He may actually be the first one inside. Hey just a quick question from an east coast guy. What is an assessment engine? BLS?
  17. Gotta say that I really love this mod. Nice job!
  18. Again, I think that you are missing the point. If there was more info, then there wouldn't be any complaints. We are all pulling for this mod. We want it to succeed and to be great. Apparently, there are a ton of new features that are going to really enhance this game. That's great. We all feel good about what we are hearing. Those of us who do this for a living appreciate what they are trying to do. However, they could be less secretive. It would make it easier on themselves, and people wouldn't have to wade through 175 pages only to find out that the game is 2 years away. The only reason why people come here and post is because they want info due to the secrecy and hype. Personally, if Brooklyn or QRA comes out first, then I'll play those. It's no big deal. Just don't act like we created this hype. We didn't start this thread. Also, in another 2.5 years will anyone be still playing EM4?
  19. It is just a game. Trust me when I say that my life will not change one way or the other if this mod is released. That said, I really don't see how you guys can get upset at the community. We have waited patiently for 2.5 years. You guys have hyped this mod up to be the best thing ever, and when the fans ask for an update you guys get angry. If you don't want angry fans, don't hype it up. Very simple.
  20. I think that after 2.5 years, nobody in this community is out of line asking about a percentage of completion. In fact, IMO, it would give these guys a whole lot more breathing room. If they came out and said 70 percent, and asked for patience. Pretty much everyone here would go about their business without a complaint. If they said 40 percent. Most would move on to other mods, and they would be able to work in peace. It is the unknown that stirs this community up. There's an easy fix. They are going to release the media package sometime soon. That should be cool. But what does that really mean if the game is whole year away? A little information goes a long way.....
  21. Thanks for the update. Looking forward to hearing more.
  22. Where did you see that about the fires?
