  1. Compared to the previous simple line design, I really like the new style you added! Since this is fictional, heres some ideas Im just throwing out there. If you looking for any new styles. The center thicker line could be a separate color from the skinny outside border lines. Example, black or a nice gold. The top half of the cabin could be sectioned off with a nice black or possibly the red your using (wouldn't know about the red without seeing it first). For E1- I would suggest placing E1 on the roof of the cab. Just to add more to the design.I noticed a lot of the 'parts' on the rigs are pure white with the rest of the truck. For example, the spot light housing, I would find them on the skin and make the black or dark grey. Same with the spot lights in front of the lightbar on E1.Those boxes on E1 that are housing the smaller side lights on the cab roof. I would suggest making a darker of the white (just by a little, so they stand out a little more) on the main truck. This way they dont look so just blended in. Or you could even make them some kind of texture.I also like the amount of detail you added into the vehicles! For the F350, I've always liked the idea of the window designs. Which is why you will see them in my projects as well. But for this kind of vehicle, I would suggest having a different more professional design or even the logo/emblem faded nicely on one side or the middle window.
  2. Looks good! I'm not sure about other places but we call them dollies. If you want to keep all the cars, rename the prototype folder to something new when moving it into the mod, it'll unlink the original connection and wont replace the existing vehicles. You will have to relink some tires though.
  3. I'd love to throw the idea out there of some Jeeps(especially lifted!) or classic vehicles!
  4. Similar ones have been created already..
  5. They are not hard at all. Look at someone elses work on a directional light, take that information and make it a circle. Then its copy and paste with switching coronas.. You can add little effects here and there to make it look better as well.. The most easiest way to make the rotoray model without modeling is to simply get a tire, name it something else to duplicate it. Then change the skin to your desired rotoray and throw it on the front of the truck.
  6. Looks good! Just a small suggestion, what about looking into smaller vehicles? Like ATVs, UTVs, 4wheelers, go karts, dune buggys, dirt bikes, etc. Or older vehicles. I personally love older more classic cars and trucks. Just an idea to throw out there..
  7. Signs are extremely easy! They can be converted within just a few moments. Extreme basic skinning skills will get the job done. However, what hoppah stated 'Sometimes the smallest examples are the best'. Small details can completely flip the players gameplay. itchboy, you have done a fantastic job with the models you brought to the EM4 community! In a mod creators point of view, the vehicles are great aids! Although, without the other minor details, the mod won't have the atmosphere of what the creator is trying to set. Already I can go out for a drive and see more foreign(to the U.S.) vehicles than american. So foreign vehicles aren't very rare here. We cannot ask anything more of you, especially since you have already out done yourself with the car pack. But as a future idea as a modder, those are tips you may like to look into. I personally like the idea of the mailboxes and buildings. Nice suburban homes would add a huge feel the any american mod. As well as some shopping centers. For anyone else, there are a few already made objects that resemble the american feel. This is the site I found a few of mine. They can be searched for here.
  8. I tried playing the survival, but got too lost with trying to figure everything out. I would love to check out towny though..
  9. I played on there. It's a nice server, but I'm kind of at a loss with it..
  10. Your welcome. Those were only to give you ideas, not change what you have already done.
  11. That amblulance is actually pretty unique. If you want some inspiration, have a look at the Wyoming Medical Center ambulances. Conveniently placed in this spoiler!
  12. I can make arson calls happen, but unfortunately they are set at random places.. Thank you, It's all because of you! I hope to add and see more in the future!
  13. Thank you! The only industrial side will be the most South Eastern part where I was asking for help. In Ravenna, we have very little industrial areas. There are a few, but abandoned. Most of Ravenna are shopping and eating areas with a few parks. Even though we are the 'hub' of Portage County.
  14. Another update! Remember that F150 that was going to be a volunteer vehicle? Well its been replaced! In place of it, I'm using my personal most favorite of all vehicles! The Dodge 3500 Dually! Also talking about trucks, the ODOT technical truck was replaced with the F350. And as added realism, the Ravenna PD dodge ram is also added! Welcome the new trucks! A big thanks to itchboy for his hard work! He allowed us to add in these beautiful trucks and many of the vehicles that are to come! The map is also being worked on! The entire North Eastern part, where the industry is. Say goodbye! It's now filled with houses! A bunch of other minor work is also being done. A fully open(like the police station) dispatch center has been added; along with personnel. I'm working on changing up a little script to allow the player to activate different sounds. Example: Play test tones for different departments, send out warning tones(example: Thunderstorm warning)). If all works, this will be available. If not, the dispatch center will still be available, but these command options wont. The air raid/tornado siren has also been added to the dispatch building. I even added the real tornado siren we have! Although these do not impact the game in any way, these allow the player to experience realism in their down time. For the Charlestown submod, I have been recording each call we receive. This way I can make a custom dispatcher for the submod alone. I've not done much work to the submod, but I have some big plans! Depending, this may be not stay private forever... Also, here are some of the photos I took from our recent parade.
  15. Amazing work! This brought a bigger diversity to the american mods! Thank you for your work!
  16. Here in Ohio, volunteers can have red/white for the front; Amber/red for the rear. Sirens must be "Society of Automotive Engineers" (SAE) approved. Neither lights or sirens are required to be a volunteer. But you cannot have a siren, and no lights. Each vehicle must pass an inspection to be considered a public safety vehicle. The requirements can be found here. Once passed, the person will be issued a sticker to be placed on the vehicle. Opinion on lights. Lighting should not be excessive, but not be too little. You want traffic to see you, but not be blinding or look more light a decorative vehicle and not be taken seriously. Most guys on my department just run with one lightbar or mini lightbar. I'm not too sure, but I know most of them have a siren. Some typically just dont run with a siren on. My current non emergency lights are: Amber rear lights(more like a directional but not one), white/amber dash light in the front, custom automotive lights for the side hood and front bumper(light blue kind of like HID colored lights, they have many optional patterns or can be left on steady(my driving lights)), and small custom white led lights on the side front bumper(I call intersection lights). The nice thing about my lights, once my vehicle goes through inspection, I can swap out the dash light to a red/white one and already be set. Or keep both up there. My opinion on cameras. Personally in my vehicle, I have a dash camera that is always on. Whether I'm just out cruising or responding I always have it running. I also use a small GoPro camera just because or as a backup. I plan on getting a rear camera as well. I recommend a vehicle camera for anyone. If you get into an accident it can easily show who is at fault. Scamming in my area has become a higher concern. As well, for volunteers we cannot drive crazy and barrel through intersections to respond. So if anyone were to say we drove reckless, my camera would show otherwise. I noticed too that police officers like to spot volunteers responding(not in my area). If they were arise a concern on our responding, you now have video proof. My camera was only $20 and works perfectly! I've been using it for over a year now. The topic of responding to the scene directly was brought up. It all depends on the department. I noticed some do have volunteer medics go directly to the scene if they have their gear with them on their POV. My department does not allow this, we must go directly to the station.
  17. Thank you everyone! I'm looking into each of your responses for the new space. Unfortunately its not too big of a space, so it's pretty limited. I noticed you guys are leaning towards a public building, which would be great. But then parking would also have to be included, except there is not enough room. Nope, which is a great idea and would fit perfectly! Ill for sure look into adding this! I'm loving the simple idea of parking for the trucks, Ill check it out and see if it fits! The headquarters would be good, but the building to the left of the circle is an HQ for a trucking company already. Great ideas! I could place a construction sign up with an empty overgrown lot! Simple and easy! Yep, there is Ravenna PD and the sheriffs department. I was trying to think of an open house building, but couldn't find a nice suitable one. I would love to add a mall somewhere on the map, but I dont have the room for it anywhere. The construction would be good, except I have one building with construction and a small house being constructed already. The junkyard is a good idea though! I would like to do that, but the space is too limited. We do have the Ravenna Arsenal right down the road and pass that is the National guards base. But it's technically not considered Ravenna in their area. I agree! I would love to add a school, but I would need a decent amount of room to add anything remotely similar to our real high school.
  18. Alright guys, I want your ideas! You guys know how I like to keep the community involved, so heres a question. I have a nice open chunk on the map that I want filled. But I want you guys to come up with an idea to place there. Of course it has to be realistic, and not something that is already placed(workshop, night club, construction site, etc). Keep in mind this is more in the beginning transition to the industrial area, so no homes will be placed there. This will give you guys a chance to place your mark within the map.
  19. Man, you are on a roll! These models are looking great!
  20. I would love to make a video, but oddly enough my computer wont run both apps without causing massive lag. Unless I make the video settings so low that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a building and a fire engine.
  21. Hey guys, I'm still here! Here's a very small post about some of the things that have been being worked on recently. A very generous person has gratefully came to me and given me full permission to use and edit all of his models within the Ravenna Mod. I thank RD_Saarland for doing this! So many of the new models you see will be from his generosity. Others are pulled from various mods that are fully credited or give full free to use permissions. As an added bonus, at the bottom you will see the work of a private little submod from the Montana Mod; Based off the fire department I work with. Its just something for me to mess around and play with. Which may be released later on. Also, the new ford vehicles will be implemented into the mod! The new railroad crossings! Sheriff golf cart will be located at the plaza for your convenience. New Pepsi and Budweiser trucks! The Budweiser truck also has an idling sound where it is parked. A civil off duty EMT has his own house and POV. Outfitted with caution lights. Just some added scenery. A few buildings under construction. Most likely the last of the volunteer povs. There are now four available. Lastly, the new Ravenna school buses! Bonuses! Charlestown Fire Submod! Which is still a huge WIP!!
  22. I seriously about had a heart attack when I saw those trucks! Amazing job here!
  23. This is not my script! It can be downloaded/found here. The owner, Carli96 gives free permissions. Edited by myself. Im just trying to add, so the engine shuts off once its back at station. Otherwise, the engine script is pretty pointless..
  24. They do, but only for a certain section. At the moment I have: Rootstown: Rescue & ambulance Kent: Engine Charlestown: Engine Truthfully for this game. Ravenna city and township can handle an entire block on fire.. Mutual aid will rarely be used by the player, if at all. I did think about adding Streetsboro, but I'm trying to just keep it low at this point. The player even has NEAS they can use if they need more medics. Let alone the MCU is still available. If anyone has basic knowledge of adding commands to scripts, I could use a little help with the engine script.
