  1. Hey u never know they might release it at the end of the calender;) haha

Hehehe, I think they said in one of the replies that it's far from ready for release. They've got some units and GUI elements ready, but the maps, scripts and even the basics of the mod are still very much in development.

  2. Hey, I started already with translate, but it was hard to make one

    so i quit with it.

But if you might help, I would help, only i have this year my exams so maybe.

I used pictures of the manual from the previous version of Wegberg> 4.0?

but if you need help PM me.

Excellent, thanks! Well the images might be too old now. We're on version 6.5.5 now I believe, and quite a few things have changed since version 4. The whole GUI has changed I think.

  3. Well I've offered to help translate it so we'll have an English version on release. They said they'd might get back to me when they were closer to release. So he might be partly right, I might help make an English version of this mod :P But like they said I'm not the author, I just found some information about the mod in German, and posted it here in English, since I knew there were quite a few fans of the original mod on here.

  4. Are people still willing to help translate it? We could get a couple of guys together and offer to do it. If we message their Facebook page it much more likely to get a response than on here. I'll join in, but I'd rather have a couple more with me, as I'm working and doing a masters degree at the same time :P And there is quite a lot of text. I could coordinate it though. You'll need at least a basic understanding of German, as google translate just doesn't cut it most of the time. You'll also need to know some fire fighting related technical terms in German, as a poor understanding of these can easily "break" a translation. And of course decent English written skills.

Could probably do most of it on google docs, at least the .lang files. The images are another matter, we'd probably need the raw Photoshop files, or whatever other program they used.

Post here or shoot me a PM, or both, if you'd be willing to pitch in. I'll contact them on Facebook once we have a couple of people.

  5. I Haven't played the mod in a while, and haven't been following this topic either, But by the looks of it, no ENG translation yet, right?

Still German only I'm afraid. The problem is that many of the buttons in-game are pictures. What that means is that a simple edit of the .lang files doesn't translate everything.

  6. For those of you who, like me, were extremely annoyed by the enormous oil spills you have to clean up in the latest version:

Read the manual :P After spending close to 40 minutes RL time cleaning up the large oil spill incidents you get in the latest version, I was pretty annoyed. But there is a much easier way of doing it that manually picking up bags of oil binder, then getting the brooms out.

    1. Once you get paged about an oil spill (Ölspur) you need to mount some special equipment before you leave the station. Look behind the oldest of the two fire fighting trucks, the one sitting behind the ladder. In front of the shelves behind the truck you should see a white piece of equipment that you can interact with while having a fire fighter selected. If you zoom in close it should say "Öltiger". Clicking on that with a fire fighter will mount it on the oldest truck.
    2. You need to move the ladder to get the old fire truck (11/23/1 or WGB 11 LF 20, depending on your radio settings) out. You should send the ELW (command vehicle), the old fire truck with the "Öltiger" mounted, and the supply truck sitting behind the command vehicle.
    3. Once on scene, set all vehicles to status 4. Disembark the crew from the fire truck, but put the engineer (the guy without a helmet) back in.
    4. Line the fire truck with the "Öltiger" mounted up with the start of the oil spill.
    5. Grab a bag if "bindemittel", and click on the fire truck. The fire fighter should fill the "Öltiger", and move away. The fire truck should then automatically drive along the oil spill and spread the "bindemittel". It will stop when it's empty. Just leaving it where it stopped, and refill it.
    6. After a while a street sweeper should arrive on scene. Once the fire truck is done, move it away from the oil spill, so it doesn't obstruct the sweeper.
    7. Select the sweeper, and click on the beginning of the oil spill. It will now sweep everything up.
    8. Pack up and head home!
  7. I wish they would make an american version to haha

Funny you should mention this. One of their latest posts on Facebook said that they're making it easier for people to import different vehicles into the game. I believe it's some sort of tool. So in theory you could make your very own US version of the mod :)

  8. Yes this mod is awesome I  only found the beta version for ERS but it was fun once you figure it out.  Thanks for the link and research.

That's the only one that exists. 0.9b is the latest version (so far :D ).

From the images on Facebook I've gathered this:

You'll have 4 hospitals to choose from. One is a small, rural hospital with basic services. One is a smaller hospital with basic services, but it has a special stroke unit. One is a larger hospital with a medium sized ER. One is the largest in the region, with all services. It also has a specialist burn unit, and is the base for the EMS helicopter. http://img.em-upload.de/images/2013/10/23/rpfzk.jpg

This might change during development, but I like the idea of having to choose between getting to the hospital quickly, and getting to a specialist unit. It seems you'll also have the option of where to look for symptoms, after performing a quick once over check.

EDIT: Also you won't have to bring so many suitcases to the scene any more. Seems like they've limited it to two: Paramedic bag and defibrillator. This will make resuscitation much easier, since you won't have to bring 3 separate bag to the patient, meaning that you have to make two trips if you run with 2 paramedics in the ambulance. The Emergency Doctor will have his/her own special bag with medication only he/she can use.

I'll try to translate and post any news from their Facebook page here.

  9. Hi all!

As a fan of the RTS mod I heard some time ago that they were working on a new version of it. After doing a bit of searching today, I've come across quite a lot of information about it. So I figured I'd tell you guys what I've found. Apologies if this is the wrong place to post.

    From http://www.ddr-mod.de/RTSMod/ :

"The Rescue Training Simulator is now in round two.

For the fans of the series beloved first version, we have invested much effort, time and money.

Just for the sake of the mod, Bass-ti (modder) has enrolled in EMS-school (paid for by himself), and taken the paramedic test/exam.

Our team keeps expanding, therefore we are not looking for beta testers.

    Features in RT2:

    EMS:

    • Control two ambulances (ALS) in the usual EM4 style.
    • Call the Emergency Doctor when needed, either by radio or the highly modern service mobile phone.
    • Use the radio status system (FMS) with all functions relevant to the EMS.
    • Treat up to two patients at the same time.
    • Choose questions from a diagnostic manual to diagnose your patient.
    • Treat your patients as best you can.
    • Transport your patients to one of four available hospitals.
    • Experience and cope with rare, epic incidents.
    • React to complications, you are not alone.

    Map and free world(?):

    • Try a completely new map in maximum size.
    • Search and discover hidden secrets/jokes around every corner.
    • Experience EM4 with a new and unprecedented day/night system.
    • Put on rubber boots and raincoat when it rains.
    • Control the volunteer fire department when necessary.
    • Remove wreckage after an incident, and clear the streets again.

    Expected release: 2014."

    Facebook page: https://www.emergency-planet.com/RettungsTrainer

From their facebook page it seems they're very active. Their banner also states that this version will be multi-lingual, so I think we can expect an English version from the get go!

Check their facebook page for images.

I can't wait for this. The first one was detailed. Now they've taken it to the extreme, going so far as enrolling in EMS school to get it accurate.

  10. The only thing I don't like is when there is a tiny fire and you have to use three fire fighters with hoses to extinguish it.

Yeah, the fire mechanics needs a bit of tweaking. I like the fact that it takes longer to extinguish fires, but when you need three hoses and a water supply to put out a fire in a portatoilet, it's a bit much. I guess it's an issue with the game mechanics. It probably doesn't scale in a realistic way, as in the fire mechanics are the same regardless of the size of the fire.

  11. Just had a few games with the new version. Must say I like it. Having two extra engines means that the dev has added bigger fires. Had one where I needed all available engines, where a semi truck trailer had caught fire in a driveway. Before I could put it out with the single engine I had on scene, it spread to the garage, house and all the trees in the garden :P And being able to call an ambulance again is great. In the past I have had fire fighters injured for various reasons, and had to restart the game. Not sure what the police is for yet though, guess I'll find out soon enough.

I do miss more car accidents and other technical rescue and/or aid assignments. They might be there though, might just be that I haven't gotten them yet.

And I'm also available for answering questions you might have about this mod.

    On scene:
-Once on scene open the radio for the unit and go status 4.
-Empty the vehicle. A fire fighter and the captain will get out.
-The fire fighter will open all doors. Select the captain and rightclick on the truck to remove the rest of the crew.
-If there is a fire, select the truck and click the pump start button on the bottom menu. Its a circle and will say "Pumpen Starten" (something like that).
-The pump should now be running.
-Select a fire fighter with a SCBA pack on.
-On his menu, you will see a fire nozzle.
-Click it and connect it to the fire truck.
-He will now be able to put out fires.

I wish to add something to this list:

    - Select a fire fighter, and have him pick up a "verteiler" (same as the wye from US-style mods, only with three out connections in stead of two) http://www.rossla.de/Feuerwehr/ff/Verteiler.jpg A second fire fighter will automaticly pick up a hose.

    - Place the verteiler wherever you want it, though you have to be close enough to the fire for the FFs to reach it, and close enough to the truck for the hose to reach the verteiler.

    - Connect the hose to the truck, then to the verteiler.

    - Have three FFs pick up nozzles (Hohlstrahrohr), and connect these to the verteiler.
-They will now be able to put out fires.

EDIT: Just a tip: Remember that if the hose is too short, you can connect a second one to the end of the first, extending it. This is especially handy for those times when the water supply is far from the fire.

  12. The screens look really cool, but can you please give me English names of the different FD vehicles or an overview of what their role is. Some names and roles I do recognise like "Gerätewagen" (I think it's an equipment or rescue truck) and "DLK" (ladder) from the Wegberg Mod. But 3/4 of it I don't understand. Forgive us daft Englishmen (particularly me).

Have a look at that link. If there's anything that isn't explained there, just ask :)

  13. No.

I was still working on, but is was hard to translate.

But you can still posting your questions here or just PM me.

I can pitch in if you need any help. I did some translation for the Winterberg mod, and I translated the manual for an older (pre-mapchange) version of the Wegberg mod. Just PM me.

  14. This is looking awesome. I'm so glad that there still are people out there who willing to mod this game in new and creative ways. I'm willing to do some translation work, should you need that. I did for Winterberg, and the Wegberg manual (which is outdated now due to the mapchange system).
