  1. I am not saying everyone is getting bad, but have you seen kids these days? Obviously ones who visit this site have an interest in emergency services so they probably wouldn't fit the mold I'm referring to. It's getting a little crazy out there. As for the volunteers ,they are a dying breed, there are less and less of them all the time.
  2. That's messed up indeed. It's not the first incident recently involving an officer in need of help. In NYC the NYPD were beaten to the ground by a mob of teenagers, luckily the FDNY was driving by and deck gunned them all off. In Baltimore two cops were trying to make an arrest while a crowd gathered around them, one guy walks up from behind and punches the lead cop in the back of the head, and takes him to the ground. Nobody helps. In PA the Temple University police attempt to arrest somebody and his thug friends join in fighting the cops and getting the upperhand, even reaching for the cops gun at one point. Meanwhile everybody stands around taping it and laughing. All of the above incidents are within the 12 months, and were taped via cellphone (with the exception of the FDNY involved one in which a photo was snapped during.) I was so glad when I was watching Alaska State Troopers to see a Trooper try and take somebody down and get involved in fight and a couple of good citizens came to help pin the guy until backup arrived. At least their is still some good in the world, granted these were older guys, not the younger punks of newer generations.
  3. I figured I'd add this as I've been stirring the pot a little in some topics, so perhaps people would like to know what Im all about (copied from my About Me) Thought I'd put this in here for those who are interested: My name's Dakota. I'm a certified IFSAC Firefighter II (HAZMAT Ops & EVOC) and NREMT- Paramedic in the state of Ohio. I've done some cool stuff in my almost 5 years as a firefighter and 2 years as a medic. I've seen fire, wrecks and lots of other stuff (not everything though, don't get me wrong), but I still prefer medical, that's just what I like to do. I've had a strong interest in law enforcement as well, and have been trained to operate as a Tactical Medic for attachment to a SWAT Team. Haven't been able to get on a team yet sadly. In my spare time I like to run websites, do graphic design, play video games and have recently renewed an old interest in LEGO. I have been running a gaming community for my clan for 8 years, I've run other communites as well, the largest I've had was about 280 members, nothing to large like this place, but my current largest is Emergency Bricks, head on over if you'd like. I do graphic design, websites, banners, some logo work, and pretty much anything you can do with Photoshop and I'm pretty decent with Illustrator as well. I also produce vinyl decals for cars, glass, walls pretty much any flat surface in my spare time. Anything else you'd like to know just ask. ** About IFSAC Firefighter II In Ohio there are 3 levels of firefighter training. 36 hour cards for volunteer firefighters. 120 hour cards for a part-time firefighter certification, and 240+ hours for professional firefighter training. IFSAC stands for The International Fire Service Accreditation Congress and is will allow reciprocity of your fire card in most states and even some various countries. **About NREMT-Paramedic NREMT stands for National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, and is the testing agency for most states, if you keep your card you can gain reciprocity in many states and just adds a level of prestige for most. In addition to the NREMT certification, I also hold a medic certifcation through the state of Ohio directly.
  4. Just showing off some more examples of our messed up society. Police officer attempts to arrest some guy. Guy breaks away and pulls out a gun firing at officer. Officer goes down being shot in the face (shatters jaw). Suspect flees. All the while you see people in the background coming in and out of apartments and loading a car, they see this guy run, they see the cop hurt on the ground. They do nothing, no 911 call, no runnig over to see if the officer is OK, nothing. http://www.policeone.com/Officer-Safety/articles/5362304-Video-Witnesses-ignore-shot-officer/
  5. Maybe we're putting ideas out there for the modding community in general? Who says others can't benefit from this topic? Don't play moderator, let the moderators have their fun. They do a fine job of stepping in when needed.
  6. Hopefully you're right or another round of anger/dissapointment will be going around. I personally don't care when it releases as I don't live on this site and check everyday for updates so I don't get letdown or amped up for nothing. I find it's much easier to check once in a while just to stay informed and not get obsessed. But at the same time, in my opinion there comes a point where you have to decide to release something to your audience and patch it later, otherwise you could spend an eternity nit-picking and fixing these little things that 90% of your players wont notice or care about in the grand scheme. Buts thats just my opinion.

I don't mind, wouldn't be the first time. I had permission from the mod team to create that post, and when I saw this one already existed I thought I'd link em. Other than that, I haven't actively advertised through posts or spammed so I don't think there should be any troubles. I just have my siggy.
  9. I'm a Level 2 Firefighter / NREMT Paramedic working for a department in Ohio. I also have done Tactical EMS training to work with SWAT teams or respond to active shooter events.
  10. I'm about 10 minutes down the road. I live in a small town so I have to go into Chardon to shop and go to the bank and do all my errands. It's overloaded with press right now acting like vultures. But yeah, sorry for getting off topic.
  11. It's called the MARS Mobile Adjustable Ramp system. It's made by Patriot 3. The OSHP Special Response Team is considered pretty elite and has lots of cool toys like that. http://www.patriot3.com/ I'm not sure where OSHP keeps this thing, I'm sure they have a few places depending on the region in which they keep equipment. Wouldn't make sense to me to cover the entire state but only have the good stuff in Columbus. If any of you saw / heard about the school shooting in Chardon Ohio, that's about 10 minutes from me and I'm in Chardon often. The OSHP had a very high response to that incident including their helicopter. Their troopers remained out in force in the area today while I was in town.
  12. And current K9: http://farm7.staticf...dbae70305_b.jpg Motor Carrier Enforcement: (The guys with all red lightbars) http://farm8.staticf...b4a2e93b1_b.jpg Plane: http://farm7.staticf...0ab70ca0a_b.jpg Chopper: http://farm7.staticf...fc21ff884_b.jpg Their resident troopers also have unique decals designating the troopers as police.
  13. This is the new tahoe: And this is the new charger: They also have a variety of SRT vehicles such as:
  14. Well the new cruisers will be silver dodge chargers with all blue lightbars. They hope to have all (speaking optimistically) the cruisers switched over by 2013. This was told to me by one of our regions troopers at a call last week. I believe they're staying with tahoes for the K9 / Supervisor cars but I'm not 100% in that. The only red I see on the newest white cruisers that handle the crashes on state roads is in the rear windshield it's alternates between red and blue LEDs. The grille is now all blue. At least where I work on the FD in Geuaga County, Ohio. The old ones will remain the white crown vics with either all blue lightbars or the really old ones with the red/blue lightbars. A trooper with an all red lightbar isn't your standard trooper, those are the guys who enforce the truck weights and that sort of thing and they aren't law enforcement troopers. Also- side note: Our most recent police chief lived in Ravenna, I believe he worked PD there as well. He's now the police chief in Hiram. Great guy, sad to see him go.

  16. It works on 7 Run as Admin, and/or run in compatibility mode. Check your drivers.
  17. Sweet, I live sort of nearby Ravenna, i see a lot of fictional units here, but that's ok! Also, just because I saw some back and forth: OSHP is making the switch to all blue lightbars on all new cruisers, they also will begin to change over from white cruisers to silver.
  18. He probably just has to reset the permissions as sometimes those can be reset when upgrading.
  19. Thought that was a BBQ at first glance
