Assigning Vehicles To Stations

Hello,

Been playing the game for a while now and just started to get into modding. I can re-skin and change the specs of the units in the editor and mod files, but am a bit lost when it comes to the map. I am mainly interested in changing which vehicles can park in the fire stations, and creating new spots for them to park throughout the map. Most specifically on the Montana mod by Bama that I have been editing for my own use. I would like to swap out the brush truck in the station for an ambulance and possibly add another parking space on the map for a medic unit that is not assigned a station but stages in a parking lot of some sort or even add another station. Thanks for the help.

Changing vehicles is easy. Just change the prototype filename in LAFireStation, LAFireStationStart, LAToFireStation, and any LACall* scripts. Don't forget to change the crew for the old vehicle in the call and alarm scripts.

 

As for adding new parking spaces outside of a station, just duplicate the map VOs and relevant script lines of a vehicle that already has a spot like that. Adding a whole new station is a bit past my level, though.

In the Montana mod it refers to the brush truck (which I am trying to replace) as "usar" and everywhere I see "usar" in those scripts i replaced it with "AMBULANCE01" and then added the " to fire station" command in the editor, but in the game I still get the "this vehicle does not belong in the fire station!" prompt when I test it. It seems that I'm making a simple task more complicated than it should be. Thanks for the help.
