I've played the demo on Steam and I think it's a pretty cool game! I'm definately getting this one! More info can be found here:

What do you guys think about a 40's and 50's gta-clone?

this game is great. I'm glad they finally did a new Mafia. Ordered the Digital Deluxe on Steam for three reasons:

Firstly: Free copy of Mafia. Woo.

Secondly: If the orchestral soundtrack is as good as it was in the first Mafia, then I defiantly want it.

Thirdly: The only stores in the UK seemed to have been offering the Made man pack and Greaser pack - Greaser pack looks rubbish and I would rather have either the WW2 pack or the music. Hope all DLC is released ASAP.

I hope a Data Xtractor for Mafia II appears real soon too, as I wouldn't mind replacing some company textures with known brands. I'm thinking Texaco for the gas stations...

If people consider it a clone, then it's a brilliant clone. I would say it's far better than GTA:IV. Think the story is gonna be better too.

My only real complaint (apart from the bugs in the demo) is that the original Mambo Italiano is horrible. It's correct to have the Rosemary Clooney version because of the time period, but Dean Martin's version was far better.

I like how cops don't kill you for no reason and they actaully pull you over. It's a very cool game and I wanna buy it.

Yeah, I saw that too. You also have the option to surrender or resist, and you have a speed limit to follow or you get pulled over although I havent seen an ambulance of firetruck yet.

Was thrilled at the fact you could speed and ACTUALLY get pulled over, turn on the faucet, and do tons of useless things, But not at the fact that they integrated more porn type content then all the GTA's Combined... so NOT GETTING IT

I am probably going to get Mafia 2 at some point. It does look quite a good game. I never played the first Mafia so I might get that one as well

You don't have to pick up the magizines. I wish they didn't limit the time in the city on the demo

Gonna pre-load a bit so I don't max out the internet usage when it's finally released. The Orchestral score is really nice and the artbook is actually worth looking at.

Someone once said that a 2K dev. stated there were none in the game, but the poster didn't provide a source.

edit: Advert posters are amazing too. Beer, cigarettes, and war propaganda - it's a nice touch to the game.

Mafia 2 is much realistic.

The behavior of the vechles is alond beter than in GTA IV.

Also the environment is alot nicer.

If you want to steal a car the window does not reak immediately

Yay, it's been released. Before 11PM...odd time to release it.

Got a jump start so I only have 48% to download At the rate it's going, it'll be ready for midnight.

I read some people were trying to exchange different keys for the DLC. I wonder if that'll work for the PC version - war Hero looks so much better than Made Man

I'm really enjoying the game. Honestly some people gripe about the mundane tasks you do but I think it adds a whole lot to the immersion. I think the game should be praised for the sheer scale and amount of random useless things that were put into the game for immersion. My only gripe is how bad PhysX runs.
