  1. Dear community,

A few weeks ago now my girlfriend and I broke up. Since that time I've been quiet down and did not have any energy left to work on the modification mostly because of the amount of stress.

I now decided to fully focus on my study and looking for the support of my friends in this hard time. Today I announce the cancellation of the Dutch Modification. I will stop working on it permenantly as of now. It also means I won't fix the problems which are present in the current revision of the modification.

Thanks to all of you who supported me for such a long time. I'm sorry to let all of you down but this is the way it's going to be.

  2. Dear fellow community members and EM5 players,

This is a short message from me stating that I’m aware of the problems regarding the Dutch Modification. I haven’t been on the forums for a long time for which I apologize but the simple reason is because of the time my study takes. I didn’t have any time at all to continue the modification in the past weeks and I’m just as sad about that fact as you all are. Next week I’ve got some free time and I will make sure to check what’s causing the conflict between the mod and the main game. It should be pretty easy to resolve and I’ll do what I can to make it happen. I will release some new stuff as well and I’ll do some bugfixing but please be aware that the content won’t be as much as you’re used to. I won’t officially state that I’ll quit any further work on the modification as of now but I can tell you that the upcoming weeks and maybe months I won’t have the time to do a proper update.

When I release the new mod version I’ll give you a somewhat longer statement of the mod progress, my study and more…

I’m not exactly sure when the update is going to be released so please keep a close eye on this thread next week.

    Cheers,

    FrozenOne

  3. Hey there FrozenOne-94,

I just uploaded a video on YouTube which is about your mod and me playing in free play with your mod! :D Could you add this to your first post's video showcase?

    Here it is:

    Thanks a lot! :)

    Cheers.

Nice video! I added it as a showcase video ;)

    Message to everyone:

My study takes up quite some time so it could take a while before there is a new update or new information. I'm getting a lot of messages of people asking how to modificate the game. I do not have any free time to give an in-depth tutorial. Every bit of free time I have is used for my personal appointments and my own modification so I won't be able to assist.

  4. Very nice work for a first. It took me many years before I was able to create my first true model (Caprice PPV)

I've been interested in 3d modelin for quiet some time, always tried something but quit pretty fast. This time I really went for it and of course a lot of video tutorials help. Never really got around making with zmodeler. 3ds Max is harder at first but with right tools I think it's easier to master than zmodeler
  5. The model is scratch made right?

If so, its a very very good model for a first attempt.

Yes it is, I did use some other downloaded 3d models as reference though but this endresult is made from scratch by myself ;) I tried some other models first but this one came out as the best result. The interior is also done but I still need to model the inside polygons (inside of doors, trunk etc.) ;)
  6. Hey FrozenOne!

After playing a bit, I have to say that I'm really loving your mod!  The textures are amazing, and I'm in love with the new features, especially cops having guns. I NEEDED THIS!!!

Thank you so much for your hard work.  This will definitely be a permanent texture mod I use!

Awesome to see your support for the modification ;)

There is much more to come of course, stay tuned for further updates, latest news I've got is the Signal Torch coming to the Dutch Mod as seen in the screenshot in the first post of this topic ;)

  7. Hey Bram,

Exactly 15 minutes before going to work for my night shift I downloaded and installed the update. I only was capable in giving it a no more look than 5 minutes, but as always, I was stunned! It looks really great and very professional again. In the coming days I will play the update and I'm absolutely certain that your Dutch MOD will convince the EM4 players to have a serious look at your MOD in EM5 as well. Maybe they now will be convinced after all, that EM5 is perfectly suitable to be MODDED as well. If only they were willing to and provided they have the knowlegde to get the job done. I'm sure the making of an American Mod for EM5 would be their next goal, instead of hanging on to the also great MODS of EM4!

    Keep in touch!!

    Cheers!!  :holdglass:

    Robert.

    Hey Robert,

Thank you for the kins words as always, glad you like the update! ;)

With the screenshots of the Dodge Charger I finally showed people it is actually possible to modificate the game big time and I hope others can see the potential of the game now.

    Cheers,

    Bram.

  8. Congrats, FrozenOne!

As much as I crave an American mod for EM5, your Dutch mod is perfect, and will hold me over.  If you do release this car, I definitely plan to use it.  I love the Dodge Chargers.

However, if you incorporate it in the Dutch mod, will it replace the Dutch police car and texture? or be a separate, standalone car?

    Thanks Arariel,

Real glad you like it ;)

I will probably add the car to the Dutch Modification just because it's only one vehicle. When I've got more vehicles done they will be detached from the Dutch Mod and I will upload it as a separate modification than.

It will be a standalone car so I won't replace any of the other vehicles. It's an entirely new model, texture and unit. In short, you will have an exra unit to play with :)

    Impressive! :D

    Thank you! :D

  9. Wow!! That model looks great.

    Congratulations !!!!

    Thank you very much! :D

    Congratulations

This is the kind of modding endavor that will start the trend of Em5 modding. Feel free to use any of my models for your Em5 project.

I appreciate your kind words. I'll definitley keep your offer in mind ;)

All i can say is wow and how awesome it is to see you back.

Congrats on the awesome work and cant wait until i can try this in my game.

    Keep up the great work.

    and welcome back

Thank you William, glad to be back.

I'll try and get it released as soon as possible. Would be awesome to see what you can accomplish with the lighting ;)

  10. Hey FrozenOne-94,

Thank you so much for this excellent modification for Emergency 5! I have been waiting for this mod ever since the first day Emergency 5 came out. When I just saw that it was approved, I immediately downloaded and installed the mod and had a quick test run, and so far it exactly what I would expect from such a mod. ITS GREAT! The models are great, most bugs I wouldn't even notice and the readme is extremely clear.

Now, about the "safe files" paragraph.. I ran the modification file through VirusTotal and maybe it's worth mentioning the following link in your ReadMe: https://www.virustotal.com/nl/file/7af526e457eab8476ba49790f7da84483cfce016e70ca69899a91fee53c870ee/analysis/1440881477/. What this is, is a site that runs your file through 56 different virus/malware detection programs and shows the result. Your file is perfectly clean, so you might want to add that. :)

Also, I have a question about using your modification in videos. Is it okay for me to make videos of me playing this mod and upload them to YouTube (of course mentioning what and where it comes from)?

Thanks for this mod, you're the best.

    Cheers. :holdglass:

Thank you very much for the kind words, I really appreciate it.

Great find on the Virusscan, I'll make sure to add it in the ReadMe file for the next update, I think it adds some real value so thank you! ;)

Of course you're allowed to use the modification for your videos, you're entirely free to do so and mentioning where the modification came from is not a necessity so that's all up to you because if people would download the modification they'll find out by theirselves whom it was created by. I won't ever use authors' right to remove videos from youtube (or any other site for that matter) so nothing stops you from making videos of it :P If you created the video feel free to contact me through email or forum because if you want I'll add the video to this topic as a showcase with credits to you.

I hope you keep enjoying playing this modification, stay tuned for information about the next update.

    Cheers  :holdglass:

  11. Hey FrozenOne! Been waiting for this to be approved ever since seeing Alex using it.

How exactly do we install this one?  I'm assuming drop a folder into the Emergency 5 folder, but which one?

    Hey Arariel,

    Thanks for your enthusiasm! ;)

If you downloaded the modification you should now have a 'NL Modification v2.0.zip' file on your computer. Upon opening the file with WinRar or 7-zip you should see a ReadMe file and another .zip-file called dutch_modification. The 'dutch_modification.zip' should extracted to an easy reachable place on your computer because this is the file you'll have to drag and drop onto the modifications tab after you launched the game (just launch the game but don't click 'Start Game' yet) The ReadMe file goes much more into detail when in comes to the installation method. I'd advise you to open the ReadMe file and scroll to page 5 where I put the installation notes.

Let me know if it worked out for you ;)

  12. A few months ago I announced the Las Vegas Modification. Most of you should know by now why it hasn't been released and that I continued working on the Dutch Modification. I've got some exciting news however! I continued working on one of the models and I'm finally ready to show some in-game screenshots of the new vehicle. It's not completely done yet but I made some very good progress and it's 100% playable already. I will release this vehicle sooner or later so stay tuned for that. I'm not sure if it will be released as a new modification or if it's going to be incorporated in the Dutch Modification for the time being until more vehicles are done.

This is a Dodge Charger Police Interceptor with the livery of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department:

  13. I always hoped you would return some day to the forum and even find the urge to continue with your Dutch MOD again. After all, you were doing very good with your Dutch "mission". Be advised however: I am NOT saying here, that you should leave your plans for making an American MOD for just what they are; on the contrary...

Now that you did return, and also with an update of your Dutch MOD, I am NOT giving you a NEW suggestion, as you stated you would not respond to those anymore. I AM giving you a small reminder though of a suggustion I made on the forum at the time, http://forum.emergency-planet.com/topic/20158-just-an-idea-for-making-a-new-mod/,to wich you responded positively. I don't think you've already come to that, otherwise it surely would have been mentioned in your listed updates. I do hope however, you would still consider this suggestion as one of your upcoming assignments.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Cheers!!   :holdglass:

    Robert.

    Hey Robert,

Thanks for your continious support even after the past months of my absence. I really appreciate it!

I did look into the DLK problem once again. The problem is that it is pretty hard coded by the developer. It should be possible to create some sort of plug-in for it but it's a real shame that the developers didn't release every aspect from the SDK. It would have been way easier if it was also possible to just edit lines of code already in the game instead of creating entirely new ones. So I know for sure it is possible but it's a real pain in the a** to figure it out  :s

I can't say too much about the American Mod mainly because of my study starting next week. The biggest problem with modding Emergency 5 is that the amount of work increased massively compared to EM4. Adding small things to the Dutch Mod won't be a problem because there is already a whole lot there to enjoy whereas it is more difficult to release a new mod with just a tiny bit of new content, people won't be satisfied as quickly I think... Kinda hard to explain but I hope you know what I mean  :P

    Grtz,

    Bram ;)

  14. Hum! Well it is nice to know that you can import other models into the EM5 game and maps excreta and you are willing to shear this with other molders only after the USA mod is under way?

Listing if you claim to know how to do this, then put it out there, so it is believable.  You will get a much better response from the members in helping with your mod.   You know old saying put up shut up!

Though I understand why you guys would think it's nice to see some proof I'm not really comfortable with the way it's being asked because it feels a little bit like I'm forced to do so.
Let me be very clear about the fact that I'm here to build a mod, not to teach others how to do so! I'm not going to write a tutorial untill the modification is running smooth because writing a tutorial is definitly not my priority. Just be glad about the fact that I'm willing to bring out a mod. I attached some pictures of the VW Touran which was supposed to be in the Dutch Modification but it's not done yet as you can probably see. I didn't make textures for it and the polycount is a little bit high. I didn't finish it because of this new modification which more people are interested in than a Dutch one.

I'm kinda curious why people want to force me to write page after page after page as a tutorial? Again, I'm here to build a mod for everyone to enjoy, so I'm not going to spend days writing stuff down for everybody. It is more complex than it was for Emergency 4 so it would take much more time to write a tutorial. You could use the Emergency 4 way of making new cars but in my opinion they won't look really nice in EM5 because of the new engine and such.

One more thing.. People keep telling me to show proof because otherwise no one would get aboard this mod... BUT, that's not even my intention. I'm not actively looking for people to help me out. I just want to know what everybody wants to see before I create something. So I'm not looking for that a better response for people wanting to help me, quite the contrary...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad about this but a little bit of trust would be more than welcome.

  15. Can you provide proof that you are able to convert/make new models for Em5 ?

Yes actually I can. I'll make a screenshot of a testcar imported into the editor. Will be uploaded tonight or tomorrow. I'm by the way only creating the models myself, nothing is going to be converted. Converting stuff made by others would be very easy to do but other than that it would look pretty bad in Emergency 5. It's way better to create the models as you need to have a high poly and a low poly model to make the cars look nice in EM5. Check back later for the screenshot ;)

Too bad Milwaukee is so far down in the votes. I was a Milwaukee Fire Dispatcher for 8 years. Would have loved to see a mod come to life.

A lot of people will be disappointed by the outcome of the votes and a lot of people will be satisfied. It's always very hard to create something everybody will like. I understand your feelings about a Milwaukee modification as it is a part of your life. Who knows, maybe someday it gets created. :D
