I'm less concerned about the AMR unit and more concerned about the Battalion Chief scripting problems getting worked out.

i was wondering if it keeps the car that is already in my game? i have edited all my cars lights and i dont want to lose them or do them again
Copy the prototype file from your edited cars and rename it to the new cars that Shane has made. (make a backup of the originals just in case)

Everything looks outstanding!
I personally don't like staffing Station 1 with that many engines or EMS units - but like you said earlier, if you can provide an edited set of files it would be greatly appreciated.

no thats not what i mean. i know how to use the truck i just dont know if i need to have the fireman use a hose connected to a pumper or hydrant to spray the water out of the ladder truck

Is the only difference between the EMS Supervisor and the Battalion Chief the writing on the side?
It would be nice if they were a little bit different just to make it easier in game and to also add some variety. You could do something as simple as switching light bars to make them different. (just a suggestion)

Perhaps I will release the submod with a fully staffed station then add a seperate file with a copy of the startfirestation script without the vehicles in the rear bays of Station 1.

Oh, I vote for a patch for the AMR vehicles - I don't think I would use them much personally.

Hi Madman,
I have just this morning received Hoppahs kind permission to add scripting to do just that. I will be altering the Firstation script so that Fire Engine 1 and 201 are in front bay of Firestation 1, Fire Engine 2 will be located at Firestation 2 and Fire Engine 3 and 203 will be in the rear bays at Firestation 1. Engine 1,2 and 3 (ALS Engines) will respond if called by Battalion Chief, while Engine 201 and 203 (BLS Engines) will respond to a call for BLS Engine or as part of the light force with the Ladder. Hope to have ready for download in the next day or two (hopefully).

Thats great to hear Shane. I'm not a big fan of having 4 engines in Station 1, but I'm sure I could edit that out manually in my own script.

What would be outstanding is if one of the new Fire Engines could be placed in station 2 and have only it go to station 2.

Another small suggestion that I know you thought of after 1.7 came out, was a command to send the ALS engine to station 1 or 2.
The other option to that would be to either to reskin the ALS engine to another number in the LAFD inventory, (with maybe some other cosmetic changes to further distiguish the 2 of them), and have another vehicle in the inventory; or to make a new model with a newer engine that would again be a new vehicle.

One option might be to give the USAR FF the ability to call for the heavy rescue, and give the EMS supervisor the ability to call for the coronor.
Great idea and follows what I was thinking earlier as well - The new call from off the map command really opens the game up and makes it a lot more realistic to play I think.
You could play the game entirely without the main unit calling tabs if most of the commands were integrated into on call commands for certain players, but that would be a pretty big undertaking. Hoppah would probably want to look at having a Captain or Lieutenant on firetrucks that would have their needed commands added to them as opposed to giving them to every firefighter.
Captains or Lieutenants could have the ability to call Battalion Chiefs, as well as the full suite of additional fire apparatus, (including the units that are not in the station).
Paramedics could have the ability to call EMS Supervisors or for additional EMS resources, (ALS Box, ALS Engine or BLS Box).
This is just a testament to how great the mod is getting - keep up the outstanding work.

I love the fact that the BC calls units from off the map in 1.8 freeplay and wondered if the following would be possible:
- Police officers be able to call tow trucks from off the map.
- SWAT negotiators be able to call getaway vehicles from off the map.

Is the new heavy rescue unit not available in freeplay? I play 1.8 in EM4 Deluxe using the original map, (endless game), and I cannot see it anywhere.

Great work on 1.8 - kudos to everyone involved with it.
I mentioned this in an earlier post but don't know if you saw it or not - any chance to tweak the standby command so that fire trucks and ambulances returning to the stations would also be available for a call? Just a small suggestion and I'm not looking for an answer as to if/when it is even possible.

Hoppah, in regards to calling the closest vehicle. Would it be possible for fire trucks that are returning to station to be called as well with this command?

I don't agree with you on that one. There will be alot of animals in the new map, but I have figured out a solution to risticted the animals from walking on the street. So the problems that they are causing now are gone.

The pigeons and dogs should be removed completely from the freeplay map - they cause nothing but problems.

Change the frequency of MVA's from 0.1 to 10 or something similar. The 0.1 is a percentage of sorts that the system uses to determine the next event. The game reads your config file when an event is supposed to occur and uses your values to pick the next one, (or none at all for that matter).
Because you only have one event enabled and its frequency is set so low, the chances of getting another MVA anytime soon is pretty low.

Yes it is possible, but from my understanding there is no desire to create one for the LA Mod. That may change down the line but I would not count on seeing it anytime soon.
Even if there was a desire, I'm sure all signs of it have been destroyed.
FDNYRes1cue, don't be so obsessive - Hoppah has plenty of help with what is accurate to be added to his mod. Take a pill, relax and enjoy what comes out next...whatever it may be.

New map looks great.
Any concern about that road that runs under the bridge and any potential pathing problems? Like sending units to the bridge and they respond under and get confused, or vise versa. Or have you guys already addressed that?
