  1. Because their DPGs, they usually just hang around west end/westminster area where usually there aren't many armed response incidents, but yes, when they occur near them, they will respond like any other ARV.

A good example of cross work is, when there was a suspect package down a road near Parliament, some of the Houses of Parliament armed police responded on foot.

Why would the MET need a Evo or Scooby? They don't go as far out as London Air Ambulance usually, or respond to outer london traffic accidents like them. They do have other equipment which is just as good in the way it costs as much, best example is the fact they have multiple Police Helos unlike most counties. :P

  2. Kerbing their cars, possible, but its far too hardcoded for me to do. My scripting knowledge is minimal! Don't actually know C++ other then from reading EM4 standard scripts, and guessing what commands exsist, then trying them, and trying new combinations to achieve what I want. Seems to be working well lol. :P Same section of code would apply to get the go around sign to work most realistic on the Road Work Traffic Management vehicle. Also having problems with redirecting traffic, it gets mighty confused now they drive on the left. :P

Sea King is coming along, however it appears I need someone who knows how to animate for a small task to get it working correctlty, please get in contact if you can help.

Paramedic bike - easily done. Will go on my to do list. :P

  3. The mod is looking very good, and (I would hope) everyone here is old enough to understand education (which ultimately matters) is somewhat more important than a game :P

I thought it was my pay check that ultimately matters, you don't have to be acedemic to be highly paid. ;)

But yes, 'Real Life before Half Life'.

  4. If this is not the Freeplay map, what will the Freeplay map be like? Or have you not thought about it yet?

The whole thing is looking fantastic and I can't wait to play it.

This is a test map, I might turn into mission 01. It also has cliff segments onto the sea. ;)

The freeplay map is currently under construction. Based on Weymouth town centre.

The alien was just a joke for you geys hehe. ;)

    UPDATE!

    motorbike_crossing.jpg

So most of what I did on the weekend is coding, try to show as much as possible above, but will explain...

    - Now all vehicles do not run without a person onboard to drive.

    - All new motorbike assocaited scripts, first ever scripts I coded from scratch!

    - All new paramedic stretcher script, can be compared to Winterburg style, to get a stretcher, you must have both individual paramedics (can now heal) in the ambulance, then press the 'paramedic stretcher' button unload both of them with their stretcher.

    - I think this possibly the first ever purely pedestrain crossing, with working pedestrain lights for EM4.

  5. Okay Festival will post my video later, once Youtube has processed it so it runs in HD.

    Please remember.

    - Yes I know I miss spelt the mod name in the title, embarrasing!

    - This was recorded during bug testing, so there is still bugs

    - No need to point out all the bugs in the video, thankyou!

    - This is not our Freeplay map, but one being used by myself for testing.

Expect the vid up in this thread in a few hours. ;)

  6. That would be the unimog indeed! Got them this summer in Dorset area after they were trying to use normal appliances off road in combination with Land Rovers to stop heath fires, which proved a pain in the ass.

I believe Dorchester have one of those Appliances with the hydraulic pad on, it'd be possible to put in game, but pretty damn hard, a lot of animation and coding. Won't be attempting it, yet! :P

  7. Okay, from what I read of the second transcript, and bearing in mind both are translations, which I forgot to on my last post, oops. It looks like

    1. - map problems held back mod

    2. - two members of the mod grow tired of the mod holding up on one problem, although talks with 16 tonnes took place

    3. - sixteen tonnes talked, people with the skills most likely too busy on over projects, and by the looks of the amount of sixteen tonne products, probably work for other developers,

    4. - Official announcement we are reading now that the mod has stopped, canceled, due to lack of help from sixteen tonnes and two members leaving.

So what should wuppertal do, start a petition, not anyone else.

What am I not sure of, is the mod never going to be released, or is that bad translation?

But generally speaking, as stan is trying to say I think, the English saying of "It's all hot hair", meaning, all words, not much actually happening, still stands.

  8. UPDATE TIME

    X5_ambo_monitor.jpg

    - New Ambulance

    - New BMW X5 Dorset ARV; the sleak black BMW X5 Armed Response Vehicle appeared on the streets of South Dorset soon after England won the 2012 Olympic bid.

    - New Fire Monitors; used when it is not safe for a fireman to remain on the end of a hose, such as fire fighting a firework factory or a warehouse of gas cylinders.

    diversion.jpg

    - Cone laying example

    coupling.jpg

    - Fire hose coupling, so you can double the usual fire hose length.

    RTA.jpg

    - Bollocks I managed to cause a RTA! :P lol

QUESTION - Any UK fire fighters know if we use wye (Y) couplings for hoses here?

  9. Well, somalia was in war loooong before that

Yes, but so was Afghanistan, Taliban in the south (Supported by Pakistan before 9/11) and the 'Rebels' in the north (supported by India). If Obama puts efforts into stopping the nuclear stalemate between Pakistan and India, and get them working closer together, that could help the effort in Afghan.

Anyway I'm impressed with everyones maturity in this thread, even if I don't agree with you, its good to hear everyones views.

And rather then going through this whole thread, its easier to say I mostly agree with Hoppah. :P

  10. I hadn't thought about the rib craft before like that, that could be something I add later, its very possible, similar to the motorbike obviously.

No fire motorbikes here, paramedic ones I've never seen here, police ones are rarer now, as they're more of a danger to themselves then an advantage in rural areas, drive over one drain cover in the wet and the bike slides out from under you. Four wheels is much safer, hence why there are fire quad bikes in neighbouring counties.

Currently I'm just trying to figure out what little bits I can add to make the mod great, I think once the map is complete (long time yet guys tbh, although progress is happening on it) I will go back and start changing vehicles around for the exact ones South Dorset uses, although many of the current ones in the mod are a part of that selection.

  11. There not going to release the mod because they can't make a map as big as they would like? Thats the most rediculious thing I have ever heard, its like they are trying to black mail 16 tonnes into releasing a patch, but its like blackmailing a president with photos of him sleeping with his own wife, its not going to really effect them. They can't make the mod exactly how they want, so they're throwing their rattles out of the pram and the modding community and their fans are the victims.

Hopefully they'll realise they can't force companies to do things for free, and will release the mod.

Pertition could of been a good idea, but the way wuppertal mod has gone about this is very silly.
