  1. Freakinmusket,

    I just have a question about the Trucks, as you know LACoFD runs Tiller-Quints/Quints and the game just has Trucks as Trucks. Therefore I'm just wondering what you're planning on doing on this part of the Mod? If you prefer not to answer...I'm fine with that as well.

    By the way, this looks like it's going to a fun mod. Keep up the great work & take your time on it.

  2. Now that Dyson's FDNY Mod is out, it started me thinking about a FDNY Truck that he missed (ok it's a spinoff of my all time favorite FDNY Rig(s) ), I'm just wondering what would it take to transferred the Monitor from the Large Fire boat to an Engine?

    Why would I want to do this?, to create a Satellite.

    What is a Satellite? it's a specialty piece that is design to deluge a large fire (3 Alarms or more) with Water.

    The FDNY Original 3 Satellites were part of the SUPER PUMPER system in the 1960s-1980s. The SUPER PUMPER was basically a land based fireboat which was made of 5 Trucks, 1 very Large Pump mount on a Semi Trailer, 2nd Semi to carry the large amount hose, & 3 (Satellites) Engine Size Hose Wagons with large Monitors.

  3. 1) I'm a sorry to ask this question, I'm sure it's been asked a billion times before, if you have a Submod (in my case New York Submod) that requires you to manually copy the submod's files into the LA submod files (it appears to me with New York Submod), Does it replaces the original files or does it just all them to the folders? I would like to be able to play both mods.

    2) I have see pictures of AMR Ambulances in the game. I'm wondering 2 things, can they be use with LA Mod (v 2.02), if so where can I find them to download them?

    I'm sorry for to ask these questions but I couldn't find an answer when I searched the forums.

  4. I'm trying replace the BLS Ambulance & the HazMat at Fire Station 2 with the ALS Ambulance & a 2nd Ladder. Before you say there are a ton of examples on how to do this on the Forums, I looked at them at least to me most seem to be for Ver. 1.9 or older.

    I have read Hoppah's tutorial on "Replacing a vehicle in one of the fire stations", I get the idea of the changes but I'm just not sure what lines to change in the scripts. I just need someone to walk me through it, a specially the 3 other scripts (LAFireStation.script,LAToFireStation.script,LABattalionChief.script)

  5. 4. Can I have a FF/PM (From ALS Engine) dispatch an Ambulance to the scene if needed. That's as simple as going in the editor and adding the PCmdCallAmbulance (Or ALS/BLS) in his commands)

    Try #4 first, that's the simplest, 1 2 and 3 are harder, but there are tutorials I do believe

    I'm having problems with #4, I can get the PCmdCallAmbulance assigned to the FF/PM but the icon takes the place for the "toolbox icon" (the one where you click to get to tools like hose, ax, etc) & the Icon blinks or flashes.

    What I'm doing wrong?

  6. I have been reading up on how to make your own Mods, but I have a few questions before I try it on my own. I just want to make these mods just for my personnel use. (for Los Angeles Mod Ver. 2.0)

    1) Is there a way I can 2 copies of the Game, one I can keep in the original setup and another copy to try my mods on? (so I can have a playable copy)

    Here is what I would like to ...

    1. Replace the BLS Ambulance with the ALS Ambulance at Station 2.

    2. Replace the Haz-Mat Squad with the USAR Squad or Aerial Ladder Truck at Station 2.

    3. Learn how to place different units in a free parking stall (Like LACoFD Squad at Station 2).

    4. Can I have a FF/PM (From ALS Engine) dispatch an Ambulance to the scene if needed.

    I have some basic programming knowledge but not in C++.

    Is this something I should try?

  7. 1 a submod is an addition created by a user, or Hoppah for the LA mod. Some include the Additional units submod by Hoppah or the Project Reality Lights by CFD.. Most times these submods just make additions in units or changes to certain things. Each submod has it's own way of installing and will be explained in it's topic.

    2 I'm assuming you are talking about the CHP LAPD and LASD helicopters that MikeyPI and Hoppah made, these will be released soon as part of the next LA mod Update.

    3 IT is possible. There is an explanation in Alterations, however regardless of your skill level I would suggest backing up ALL files you edit,

  8. I haven't had the time to play until yesterday & I noticed a few things that new (new to me anyways) on forum.

    I only play 1st Responders in Free Mode with Los Angeles Mod, therefore if a few questions about it.

    All the questions are 2 parters

    1)What is a SubMod? & how do I install them?

    2) I saw a submod on the forum that allows you to change/upgreade te Helicopters in LAmod to the A Stars, where is the link for that (I'm running Ver. 2.01 I think the Latest Ver. on Happah's website)? will it would with Ver. 2.01?

    3) I'm sure it's possible to change the Aerial Ladder Truck to the Tiller as that default Truck in Station 1, I never tried modding anything before should I try this?

  9. I have been playing LA Mod 2.0 for about a week or so now. Great Mod Hoppah like always ;) .

    However I just have a couple of questions on the new features in V 2.0 and general game play within freeplay with LA Mod 2.0.

    1) How do you use the Bomb Robot? I can deploy the Bomb Robot from the Bomb Squad but if I try to use it on the Bomb, the Bomb goes off.

    2) How do you the LAPD K9 Unit? (I just learned about it today, searching for answers on the Bomb Robot)

    3) What is the best way to fight to fight a fire on the Lower Right hand Corner of the free map? (By the time I get the Engines to the fire the whole area is in flames.)

    4) On the Haz-Mat fire at the dock just up from Station 1, is there a way to fight the fire without the Haz-mat gas being release?

  10. I’m having trouble with getting normal firefighters on the platform before the toxic gases are released. Here is what I have been trying….

    I launch the Rescue Helicopter meanwhile I dispatch 3 fireboats to the staging area. Once the Rescue Helicopter is over the Platform I land & send the Engineer to turn off the control panel & the valves. I have 2 rescue boats, Pumper (6 Firefighters), Haz-mat, Large Ambulance (3 Doctors, 1 Paramedic)at the docks. What am I doing wrong?

  11. I’m thinking about a few Mods for the L. A. Mod. Before I continue I would like to point out they are more can it be done then a request for a new mod.

    1) I noticed there appears to be plenty behind the USAR & the Ladder (Station 1) for maybe a Patrol and/or L.A. County Squad. (in free play mode)

    2) I have had some of my trucks back in their stalls, I’m wondering if I can put a Patrol or a Squad behind the USAR, if I can have the facing rearward or backed in their stalls.

  12. I know you need to protect the Military Base and EVAC the Town’s People; however I’m not sure of a few things…

    1) How Many Town People are there in total?

    2) How many Firefighting Units do I need?

    3) Where do I place the Firefighting units on the North (top) side of the town to firm a defense line between the houses and the forest?

  13. I know that this question has been asked a million times, but what’s the best way to contain the fire in the LA Mod Wooden barn caught fire Mission.

    I have tried using 2 Foam Tenders, 1 Engine 2 and the USFS Engine but by the time I take care of the Lower 2 Drug Dealers by the barn & get the USFS Engine in place on lower right corner of the barn. The Upper Drug Dealer starts the Woods on fire; I can’t seem to get the Tenders in place on the Upper & Left side of the Barn in time to slow the flames down.

    Most of the time the flames jump the road before I can get the tenders in place; before they get on scene they start put the closest flames.

    I don’t want you to tell me exactly what to do in detail but just point me in the right/correct direction.

  14. Since this is my first posting to forum and that I’m new to the game. I apologize if I post it in the wrong section. (I’m using First Responders with Vista)

    I’m trying to do the Crane Collapse Mission (Mission 1), I’m unable to do a few things,

    1) How can I move the Equipment from the staging area to a closer spot to the scene?

    2) How do I get the Firefighter to grab the debris that fell on the Victim, I don’t see the grab object icon.

    3) How do I clear the citizens out of the staging area? I tired “ordering” them out by the police officer but some of the citizens move deeper in the staging area.

    4) How do you know if you have a mod installed correctly, I tried installed the LA Mod but I don’t see any changes within the game. (I’m sure it is just something that I did wrong)
