    Happy Modding! :)
  2. Last night I almost had a sleepless night and today I woke up sad: I still can't truly realize that we had just witnessed the French 9/11 last night.

    I watched the news and images of yesterday's attacks in disbelief... Some kind of mixture with sadness, anger and disgust. Disgusted to know that we are surrounded by people who wish us harm, who frighten and attempt to remove our freedom. Yesterday's events didn't scared me, of course that I am - as the rest of the World - mourning the victims, but on the other hand, these events encouraged me to fight for a safer world. The terrorists may have struct hard, but we will rise 10 times stronger, united and ready to face tomorrow's threats together, marching forward against the unknown.

    I would also like to highlight the quick response of the French emergency services, who unfortunately are already quite experienced with this type of events, especially the teams of Paris' Sapeurs Pompiers, SAMU (EMS), National Police and National Gendarmerie, without forgetting the brave and swift response that the French security forces special operations teams BRI, RAID / GIPN and GIGN had last night. Without the teamwork of all, everything could have ended in a much more dramatic way... My thoughts are with all the people affected by the attacks.

    Stay strong, France. We stand with you.

  3. Hey, sorry to wake a dead topic - I didn't want to do a waste a new one just for this useless problem - but is there any fix for this little annoyance?

    EAUIbMZ.png

    In this case, the model with the default "BindPose" looks better when animated with, for example, the "Idle" animation. I think it's related to the leg/feet rigging but I don't wanna mess the model up before making sure it is gonna fix it. :)

  4. I decided to release my edited version of the default multiplayer map texture that was supposed to be used for B.V.Lisbonenses Modification V3 - now cancelled due to external reasons. The pack includes an .eft file if you don't want to make any changes and a .tga texture so that you have the liberty to change what you like.

    DOWNLOAD HERE

    How to install?

    • Extract both files to your desktop;
    • Move them to your "Emergency 4/Mods/"your mod"/Maps/" folder;
    • The .eft file can be directly opened in the Editor by opening your mod, going to "Terrain" (F2) and loading the texture;
    • The .tga file can be edited with Photoshop, Gimp, Paint.net or any other image processing software. You must save it in .tga 24-bit format;
    • To import it, just head to the Editor, click on Terrain (F2) and "Import Texture".

    Notes: - since this is only a texture, you'll have to change the map objects, paths, buildings, etc. so that it works correctly.

               - if you plan on using this for your modification, a small mention and fair credit on the readme file would be nice.

    Enjoy!

  5. Welcome to the European Modding section!

    This is a meeting point for all European mod and content creators. It was set up due to the large, growing demand for European modding projects that, unfortunately, were being overwhelmed by the large amounts of newly created non-Euro modifications, leaving those mods in the shadows. We expect that this initiative will bring more attention to these projects and perhaps even allow and enable the community to work as a team, help each other and develop totally new projects under its own representation and separate sector.

    This section is divided in six sub-categories:

    • Conceptual Modifications

    Modifications that haven't been released and are being worked on.

    • Modding Resources

    A place where content creators share their work with the rest of the users, adding and developing them under this section. Hopefully, it'll grow into a big database where mod-creators can download and use the smaller components (models, textures, scripts, maps and tutorials) for their own projects.

    • European Modding Discussion Forum

    In here, you'll be able to share your doubts, ask for assistance and discuss general modding aspects with other users. Ideas / suggestions may also be posted in this category, since they're also modding concepts.

    • Early Access / Alpha Stage Modifications

    Modifications that are very much a work-in-progress and/or an unstable build that is not quite a stable release build can be found here. These modifications may have bugs/performance issues since they are early-access (alpha version) mods. Modifications featured in this topic may not be fully operational or working correctly. After the first release (V.1) the topic will be moved to the General European sector.

    • European Submods

    A sub-section dedicated to all the modding projects that are based on another standalone, larger and already structured modification.

    Hope you enjoy it here! This sector is currently being administered by me (Ghost), with external support from the Emergency-Planet Staff. On this initial phase, we're currently focusing on moving EU topics from the global section to the EU sector. Hopefully it won't cause much bother.

    Anything you need, contact me, I'll gladly help you out.

  6. just one more thing.... (sorry for sooooo many questions) does this mod has police calls?

    No problem. If I'm not mistaken, the police are only used for traffic and crowd control. I was planning on adding loads of police units and different law enforcement agencies for V3, but I decided to put the modification on hold due to personal reasons.

    I'm not sure but i don´t think so but you must use the police for traffic accidents.

    Correct. Crowd control too! Basically, the Police is used to debug the freeplay map. :)

  7. Textures I believe, based on the issues other mods have with Intel GPU's is the root cause. I think those GPU's dont have the same memory capacity or capability to handle, process and store high resolution textures at high volumes, so textures are the first place I'd look into when trying to slim this mod down.

    256x256 works pretty well for most person textures. 128x128 works fine too, if you want to be economic and save even more space. Personnel textures above 512x512 don't make any sense and in vehicles I usually try to keep between 512x512 and 1024x1024 or even lower resolutions for civilian traffic vehicles, for example. It really depends from case to case.

  8. Yes, they indeed were. Its probably my first computer game, though I don't consider it proper.

    THIS was my first proper game, and yes, thats one of the first I learned to mod. NFS High Stakes btw.

    Since we're taking a trip down the Memory Lane... I still remember the happy days spent playing Sim City 3000, Emergency 2 and SimCopter. :)

    On topic: to be honest I'm not even surprised - I was already expecting this - or something like it - from DeepSilver. If they only managed to improve Emergency 4 and merge the graphics, fires, maps, etc. from EM2012 with EM4... :rolleyes:

  9. Yep. Only exception to this is Kent Mod, which, regardless of RTB commands, is fun to play.

    Limited water is a big factor for me too, even though it's only a recent addition to EM4 modding I love it already.

    The only thing that I dislike about Kent Mod is the micro-management needed to dispatch units. Having to manually gear up the firefighters and send them to the vehicles is something that I hate. On all other aspects, the mod is realistic and fun.

    Hope this one has the same effect, specially with realistic personnel textures - I hate plain personnel textures with a simple color "pasted" on it, makes it look like an 8-bit game all over again... :P
