  1. Hey Blackout I have a couple questions regarding the mod, which I might add is pretty nice.

1.) When the mod loads I can see markings for engine 1, squad 1 and so forth, but all of the houses are empty is this by design or is their a way to automatically load all the houses with the appropriate apparatus?

2.) I got a box alarm fire, but I noticed the battalion chief didn't have order commands. When receiving a box alarm am I supposed to manually send the units I want or are their alternate units I can command which will dispatch a unit.

    Thank You

although yes emergency 4 is still strong with modders and concepts, but don't forget that emergency 5 hasn't been around very long still. Eventually there will be  "new" hoppah that will do the same thing with emergency 5. we all just need some time to adjust to the new editor. the only reason hoppah was able to make the LA mod for emergency 4 so fast was because the editor was the same as emergency 3's. For right now I would suggest you play emergency 4 but keep an eye out for emergency 5 mods.

Your blanket statement is a bit inaccurate unless you were actually a member on these forums during the 08/09 era, which by your 2015 join date I'm going to guess that is a no. When I joined in 2009 EM4 was vibrant with life, because of Hoppah. You are also semi - correct, yes EM3 and EM4's editors were somewhat the same, they were also quite different. I can vividly remember all the tweaks and changes that took place as we all patiently waited on the LA Mod to reach EM4 and even than it took close to a year (I believe) to get everything ported over. That being said, Paranoid already beat me to the punch, it's been two years and I haven't seen any major mods being released. Yes, the editor is new but that hasn't stopped this community or any other community. When EM4 was released completely new modding teams were created to create mods strictly for EM4 and those said mods were released within 2 years, I can remember a couple in depth German mods that were huge, on the same level as the LA Mod. I've also spent sometime searching EM5 / 2016 and people are quite pissed about the EM5 disaster. EM 2016 is now shrouded in displeasure as a lot of people who streamed / attempted to mod the game believe the developers have abandoned it. Which, is a valid point given the fact that EM2016 is basically EM5 with a few added features, which ultimately could have been added to EM5. Yet instead they decided to remove EM5 and move to EM2016. Give that and what I have read I can't see this game having a bright feature. I also don't think people need two years to "learn the editor" and I don't foresee any serious modding teams stepping up to mod for EM2016 when it has bugs still, not given the fact that EM4 is stable and still popular. Anyway, just my 2 cents as I said before I think EM 2016 had potential it's just sad to see how things have deteriorated so fast.

  3. Decided to dust off my version of EM4 and revisit the "good ole days" than I remembered EM5 was released, I was expecting to see great things ... boy was I disappointed. Not to mention it took me a minute to score though the endless raging post only to realize EM5 doesn't exist and is now known as EM 2016. So, now taking sometime to reminisce and look back EM4 would have probably suffered the same fate if not for Hoppah, the LA Mod and his ultimate decision to release the textures sprouting up numerous re-skins and submods. I'm also not to terribly surprised to hear Sixteen Tons Entertainment doesn't want anything to do with the English community, looks like the end for EM 2016 is inevitable aside from a few dedicated modders. That being said, is EM4 still going strong with mod support? I know a lot of old faces have moved on and I haven't kept up to see if any new blood has come along. I've checked the forums and everything looks good but figured I'd ask since EM 2016 wasn't as promising as I hopped.

  4. People tend to forget how much time and effort goes into making a big modification. When EM4 / 911 First Responders was released in 2006 it was a full year before someone (Hoppah) even started working on the LA mod. It took him an additional year to complete and release the mod (2 years after EM4s release) it was completed in record time because he was deicated to his work. Over the next four years the mod was refined as more and more people helped add additional "approved" submods to the LA mod. Then eventually, he released his models and the "sub modding" scene exploded.

Make no mistake without someone like him we wouldn't have the vast majority of US based submods we have today in EM4. Even mods like the "Red Watch" have elapsed 2 years as they've attempted to replicate realism. In short, if old EM4 models can be transferred over to EM5 then you'll see new mods popping up a lot sooner. If EM5 requires new models in general, then it will be a few years before we see any major new modifications hitting the scene, aside from small light mods.

  5. This is unusual for me and still feels awkward to say, but GTA IV on console sucks, period. I own GTA IV on the PS3 and I thought the game was amazing, unfortunately, I too hated the lack luster detail added to emergency vehicles. I have since built my first gaming PC and I now own GTA IV on PC and let me tell you, the difference is extraordinary. I have emergency vehicle mods with makes the police, fire and ems almost life like. With the addition of texture and light mods the game is now immerse and realistic, just Google LCPD:FR for some awesome police role playing in game, I play the mod and love it. However, once again and this is weird to say GTA is much better on PC and I imagine everything your complaining about now will continue to go unchanged on console and will probably get fixed via a patch or mod on the PC.

  6. I think he didn't like the European cab on a CFD unit which is highly unrealistic and strange looking, much like if you were to put a Pierce cab on a Euro fire truck.

Yeah, I agree. European fire engines don't look right with CFD paint schemes and vise versa.

Real Liaz from VFD Slatina, biggest crew cab in our republic.

It looks fine now what it has the proper paint scheme.

  7. I also play Arma, every expesnion pack except for the Czech pack.

My question to the Arma 3 holders:

    How is de desync?

In Arma 2 there was always desync while you were with 2 inside 1 vehicle.

(I was driving on the road, while my buddy saw me going into buildings.)

Arma is fantastic in my eyes

It's in Alpha testing right now so you can't expect much from the game. As for desync, yes there is some, but vehicles in general are bugged. The biggest problem with vehicles right now is the inability to drive off road. Right now the servers are confusing blades of grass, bushes and small rocks for large boulders. So sometimes when you drive a truck through the grass, or over a small rock your vehicle may become heavily damaged. On other occasions, the players inside my lose a little health (10%) when driving through the grass, or become severely injured when driving over a boulder. The game also has problems recognizing flames, so you might see a perfectly fine vehicle pointing straight into the air (which is in correct) and it's on fire, but the fire is invisible to you, until you get close and start losing HP. Overall, the game is great, I love it and can't wait until they reach the beta where more weapons will get released.

  8. I'd rather nothing new was added and we get a map and units and whatever else the RCMP mod team has planned! All this asking for extra content will just slow down release, as they attempt to make it (possibly) or respond to pesky posts here on the forum.

    ya-srsly001.jpg

Pff. I know right! What's wrong with those pesky ole members asking questions and post suggestions. I mean O.M.G.! how absurd is that, it's almost unfathomable! Someone might have a useful comment or bright idea, oh. No no no! We can't have that.

Mission based freeplay isn't a type of freeplay that focuses on calls just to clarify, it's when they emulate the freeplay gamemode using a mission script. Many of the European mods you see, such as Winterberg rely on these emulations to achieve their things, since the script is constantly running, as opposed to the freeplay, where it starts at the beginning and then it just runs on commands afterwords

As for what we're looking to get done. We're working on getting some stations and that developed to work well on the map. Obviously ripping off the LA Mod stations wouldn't be fair, nor would it make sense for this mod, so we aren't planning on it

That's fine, I know along time ago we talked about the possibility of adding that into a mod (I think the LA mod) and someone mentioned freeplay vs mission based freeplay. That topic didn't go into too many details so I wasn't exactly sure what the differences were between both. In any event when I saw the original post I thought I might throw ERS out there. With that said the RCMP mod does look amazing, so as long as random traffic jams are dealt with any means of redirection should work.

  9. Welcome back I suppose, you should really think about releasing this modification, since Hoppah has changed the rules. It looks quite nice and I am sure plenty of people would love to play this mod. I know I would, it looks nice to bad I don't understand the language.

  10. It is possible, but to my knowledge, the only way it can be done is through freeplay emulation in a mission

I know ERS Berlin has implemented that technique into their game. I'm not sure if they consider their freeplay "mission based" or not, but I know in ERS Berlin you can set a starting destination along with 2-3 markers and than set an ending destination for cars to follow. It's kind of cool, I liked the idea having cars go around an accident instead of getting redirected in the other direction. I'm not sure how hard / easy that was, it would be cool if you guys were able to add it. But, it wouldn't be the end of the world if you couldn't either.

  11. Honestly, the only thing I am interested in seeing in this game that they haven't confirmed or denied, or even spoken about yet, is the types of emergencies. I want small ones you can respond realistically to. Preferably ones I can use a cop to reroute traffic, not send them in the opposite direction. Hell, while we're at it, let's just use a waypoint setting for vehicles too. Don't you hate it when the "shortest route" is also the dumbest?

Yeah, I know. I think EMS Berlin had a redirection system that allow cars to follow a group of way points around the accident, instead of redirecting them in the opposite direction. I also think realistic water supplies would be nice, since fire engines don't carry unlimited supplies of water anyway.

  12. Dear community,

We are proud to announce Emergency 2013 and Emergency 5 to you. See the text bellow:

Sixteen Tons Entertainment and Deep Silver are, at this time, working on two hot titles for fans of rescue strategy games.

Please take a moment to read the full article

The popular game range of Emergency will be extended with two new titles: Emergency 2013 and Emergency 5.

Emergency 5, the long desired sequel of the classic Emergency 4 is now officially in development. “Modding will be a central element again in Emergency 5, because I know how much our fans like to make their own units and missions”, so Ralph Stock, inventor of the game and Director of the development studios of Sixteen Tons Entertainment. A release date for Emegrency 5 has yet to be announced.

To short down the waiting time for the fans Emergency 2013 will be released in November, to be exact the date will be November, 2nd 2012. Emergency 2013 will provide a campaign with four new missions, a new freeplay map and new missions to the owners of Emergency 2012. Think about eruptions, toxic gases, angry citizens and forest fires.

Emergency 2013 will appear as a pack for download through digital distribution platforms (Expansion pack, original game will be required). And as an retail version including Emergency 2012 Deluxe.

Modding = Money. EM4 sold a ton of copies because you could mod it and make it your own. EM2012 sold, but I doubt it sold as many copies as EM4 did. So obviously they didn't want to go bankrupt, which meant bring back the ability to mod. I know I bought EM4 because of the LA mod, and if any good mods came out for EM5 I'd buy it too.
