  1. I wish I could Truck15... I'm not really a modeller, all I've been able to do so far is to modify things. I've edited where lights are, taken one thing from one unit and put it on another.... it's all just modifcation work... I've labelled the Fireboat already in game to say Edward M. Cotter, but, until I can get modelling down, I'm screwed... I wish I could model better, I wanna add a pump panel to the aerials, as they all have them in Buffalo... I also wish I could model a Crimson Pumper for Engines 4 and 25, and a Crimson 100' stick for the Reserve aerial. I haven't been over to Engine 37/Ladder 4 in a while (I'm going through withdrawls lmao), but I heard a rumour about Truck 4 getting a new rig... I'm trying to keep the models up to date as much as possible, and thankfully, other than 33 and 22 being replaced next year, I'm perty sure the BFD's done updating their fleet for a while.

    On the topic of rigs, the Chiefs year/model is correct, but they've got the pushbars on them, as well as an LED lightbar. F20's got a newer model Suburban, 4-1's got the older Tahoe, there's a billion things that I wish I could do, but don't have the ability to...

    I'm continuing to try to learn modelling, but, I just had my Search and Rescue Recert, and life's been hectic... I'm hoping I'll learn it someday.... And when I do, you'll have a COMPLETE Buffalo submod :)

  2. It happens in the LA mod too, the patrol feature is the same in both mods. I'm not a scripter but I'm guessing there is a reason (not out of choice) why Hoppah didn't make it so patrolling vehicles act as civilian vehicles and stop at stoplights. That's one of the downsides of setting your units to patrol and if you choose to do so you need to keep an eye out for them so if a jam up does happen you can catch it early. For example even after a considerate amount of editing to the Woods Map I play on I still have traffic troubles so I choose to park PD units around the city so they don't have to get stuck patrolling. The only way to really deal with the traffic problems is constant testing and minor fixes. Its kind of a pain to constantly be changing between game and editor all while still trying to keep the traffic looking realistic (I can fix all your traffic troubles for any map in a couple minutes but there's only gonna be 5 civilian cars on the map :loldev:)

    Making patrolling vehicles stop at lights might be something the Red Watch team should look into as it would definitely make the lives of the mod players a lot easier so they can focus on their tasks, not traffic.

    What I did was I made the civil-traited police cars added to specific paths, because they'll stop at traffic lights... Then, with the commandable units, I park them in a dark-ish spot or somethin... obviously using the stand-by script to make them available. I just kinda think of the moving police cars that I can't command as units from another division/precinct...

  3. Merritt, I think that could be feasible, if, say, the funeral comes across as an incident, and it happens a few days later... I've never seen an incident with an LODD where the funeral is the same day, or even within 4 days... But, I fully agree that the funeral would be a good thing to consider adding...

  4. Oh good God lol A combination department?! this should be good! :P Let's see how good Goog and CFD really are! Maybe they'll get a volly script, where when you get a working fire, you activated the volunteers, and they POV to the station to get a rig! :P Alright guys! lets band together and demand a volly script!

  5. BCAS will be totally separate and have their own skins(no turnout gear) I'm just looking to change up the ff/emt from LA mod that had the brown turnout jacket and blue uniform pants.

    I fully understand... over here in 'Worst-Case-Ontario,' EMS is a third agency. Fire, Police and EMS are all seperate entities... except Ontards EMS is all run at a Regional/County level.. Where I am, it's Niagara EMS, and they look more like the Cops as far as a uniform goes than they do fire.

    I understand what you mean, I'm just sayin' that from a future-mod-player stand point, I'd rather have the Firefighter Medics in Turnout pants than in just their station uniform.. it'd be a bit easier to identify them in game as Fire, and not EMS... Plus, as Merritt said, if they get, say, an auto fire while returning, they'd be f*cked.... lolol

  6. I personally am in favour of the Turnout Pants and helmet... Even without the helmet, I think that looks better as it denotes them as Firefighters, not just EMT/Paramedic. If they work for Surrey Fire, they should have bunker pants on, if the work for BCAS, then the bunker pants are obviously no good lol I hope you get what I'm saying... It'd help them stand out as Fire, not BCAS...

  7. I have one more thing to add,

    1: To allow more than one paramedic to opperate on a patient.

    This is fully possible.. I've modded my game to have one Medic work on the vic, and the other can stabalize. You can do this with the LA Mod, but the stabalize script only has the person drop down for say 30 seconds or so. I went ino the LAStabilize.script script (stutter fest :P) and edited the time to be something like 500 seconds. Now my Medic's are down there for a while. The only time I run into an issue is when someone picks up the person who got f**ked up. Then the second medic continues to.... treat the ground? lol they stay there, looking like they're working on a ghost who passed out lol

    But it's entirely possible. It also speeds the recovery rate of your vic. You can transport faster

  8. Thanks for the interest CRFD Engine 7! I know WHERE the sounds go, I'm just not sure if you can have more than 3 different voice folders.. I know how to assign the voices to trucks, I've got it so when my Fire Units show up on scene, you hear my buddy, forterieladder1officer, say "Buffalo Fire Engine (muffled), we're on location in the area, we'll be investigating." It just sucks that my Battalion's call in as an Engine, and the Ladders as well... I hope that explains it a little better :)

  9. Hey guys! great news! I'm still working on it, trying to fix a few bugs.. I may release it, I may not... I'm sorry for being so indicisive...

    Here's what I've got on my mind now:

    After I fix the bugs, I'd like to find someone who can model a few units for me. There's about 5 or 6 models I could REALLY use.... Willing to trade sex/drugs/children for work. Kidding, totally kidding... lol I can however trade some work for anyone who'd like to work out a deal...

    Also, I'd like to find a way for each individual unit to have its own voice folder... for example, if you tell engine 1 to extinguish something, a sound clip would play saying "Roger, Command, Engine 1's opening up our masterstream." I've got the voice actors lined up... I just don't know how to give each individual unit it's own file... does anyone know if this is possible?

    Lastly, I'd like to see if anyone who's good with scripting can help me with a midmount ladder... I've done about 80% of the work, I just don't know how to script... I've got a pretty good idea of what would work, I just don't know HOW to do it.....

I can help! lol I had the same issue with my personal submod, and I worked it out.. it's got to to with the LAFireStationStart.Script. there's something about a rotation issue I can't remember... if you PM me your LAFireStationStart script file, I can fix it and send you back the fixed version :)

  11. Hey guys, I've got a question... I searched, and after a few topics, this one seemed to have the closest thing to an answer I could find... Is there a way to unlock the battalion chief? I can't load it in ZModeller, it gives me an invalid vertex message... same for the Tahoes and Tiller... does anyone know a way around this?

  12. AWESOME !!!!! One Question though are you planning on placing the Buffalo Crest on the doors? Also may I say the Rural Metro Fleet is epic !!!! I really hope you plane on releasing this as someone from the area it would be a real treat. GREAT WORK KEEP IT UP !!!!!

    Thanks! And I'm not sure what you mean by the Buffalo Crest. If you mean the BFD Badge, all trucks have it. It's on the driver's and officer's doors, right below the unit name :)

Ladder 5 now has a 105' rear-mount straight stick bu American LaFrance, but, it was the last aerial to be replaced from the days of the tillers, so, I'm keeping it as a Tiller to pay tribute to the days Buffalo Fire had the tillers...

    Buffalo Fire Rescue 1. This truck is a combination of FDNY Rescue 1 (from the NY Mod) and the LA USAR rig. This truck took me 2 1/2 hours to get into a decent shape, and I've spent at MINIMUM 6 hours total on this truck, perfecting it. Over the rear doors of the cab, it says In Memory of: Lt C. McCarthy. Lt Charles "Chip" McCarthy and Firefighter Jonathan Croom (of Ladder 7) passed away in the Line of Duty on August 24th. 2009 at a 3 Alarm fire at Bailey and Genesee... This truck is my tribute to Lt Chip McCarthy. I have plans to turn Truck 7 into Firefighter Croom's memorial

    Stay tuned for more to come!! I'll probably have more after I get back from Engine 37 tomorrow!

  14. Sounds like you've been busy with this. I look forward to seeing the new fire vehicles and the NYSP vehicles, always seemed to be one of my favorite american state police forces.

    I work on it at least four or five days a week, at least an hour at a time... I actually just finished modifying an ambulance...

    Wow, you've really been working on this! Very good, I'll download as soon as it comes out!

    I have been, and it's been a LONG and frustrating proccess... But, as of right now, I'm unsure if I'm going to release this for download or not... I have changed so much, and there are so many things that just don't function... the Wye's don't work.. well, they do, but, you can't pick them up for some reason, so your truck's are stuck, with sucks... there's a bunch that still needs work, and, even then, I'm just not sure.... I haven't done NEARLY enough to classify this as a mod... submod, well, maybe, as I HAVE changed some of the actual model files.... I'm working on seperate sound files for the 4 battalion chiefs and the Division Chief, but, its still up in the air... I don't want to disappoint you, but, I wanna give you the heads up that, I'm still unsure if it WILL be available for download.....

    OMG I was sooooo hoping you didnt bail on this I seriously cant wait. I have pics of the new engines for you if ya need em let me know

    Honestly, after Emergency 3 with the LA Mod when I did some lighting, to modding LA Mod V1.8 for 911:FR, then having to redo EVERYTHING when 1.9 cam out, then losing my mod and starting from scratch AGAIN when 2.0 was released and I got my computer working again, I have backed this mod up more times than I care to think about. I can't let this thing go... it's like its my child... I can only wonder how Hoppah feels about HIS mod... whew! lol And I appreciate the offer, but, I've got one better ;) I was riding with Buffalo Fire and got to see the rigs in person... God they really are gorgeous... I rode with Engine 2 a day or two before they made the change-over... little irked about that one... but, so goes life... just like how I rode with Engine 37 and Ladder 4 until 3:30 one morning, and I made it home about 5 minutes after Ladder 4 went on the Second Alarm to the Ohio Street Junkyard Fire... it's the "Ride-A-Long Curse," as the Rescue Lieutenant told me Tuesday.... lol I'm gonna PM you, I got a couple questions for ya!

  15. So, I'm sure I'm starting to burn bridges with my empty promises of updates... my problems are as follows:

    Very few of my Internet Company's employees speak proper English, and, being from a military background, that pisses me off to no end. As a result, anytime I have to call them, I end up yelling at someone. Long story short, they refused to reconnect my service, and I couldn't get another ISP because they changed some wires or something when the hooked me up the last time... well, here ya go <undisclosed internet service provider>! I worked out a deal with my neighbour! HA! lol

    Also, Fraps, for whatever reason, doesn't like me either. It would not take a darn screenshot if I took it out to dinner first. My only option around that is to load the editor, load my mod, hit printscreen, close the mod, open paint, past, save, repeat... my computer's aging (almost as fast as I am), and is starting to slow down... so that's taking longer than it should...

    If y'all continue to have patience, I'll continue to try to work around it.

    To keep hope alive, here's some updates (HOPEFULLY I'll get some pictures up soon)

    1) I've edited a lot of the engines so they appear more like American LaFrance (17 of Buffalo's 19 are ALF)

    2) I've got 8 of the 9 Ladders BFD uses in game and playable

    3) I've changed Rescue 1 (the USAR) completely. It's got the box of FDNY R1 (from the NY mod) and the Cab of one of my ALF Engines, so its closer to Buffalo R1

    4) I have all 4 Battalion Chiefs and the Division Chief in game, and the Batt's can don their SCBA. Each has their own vehicle, too.

    5) I have the Fire Commissioner in game, with his black Tahoe

    6) I have 8 different box style ambulances, and 4 van types. some have LED's, some have rotators, and two or three mod-busses have strobes

    7) I have 6 Rural/Metro flycars (EMS Supervisor, essentially) in game. I also added EMTs, who wear a black Rural/Metro uniform, and there's the standard medics, who wear a dark blue Rural/Metro uniform. I made the EMS Captain kinda like an administrator for R/M, who wears the dark blue pants and a white shirt...

    8) all CHP have been converted to NY State Police, with 4 cars, a slicktop car, slicktop Tahoe and Tahoe with LED bar

    9) LASD has been changed into Erie County Sherriff's, with 3 regular cars, two slicktops, slicktop Tahoe, Tahoe with LED bar, and the Ford Explorer SaR thingy. Oh! And the Transport Van is ECSO as well. Also, there's now the standard Sherriff's Deputy, a Traffic Vest Version, and a Tac Vest Version. I also added a Sherriff Unit, who wears the hat like the CHP guys

    10) I have 4 SWAT unmarked units (default staffing is two plain clothes police officers, who, on donning Tac Vest, become SWAT Officers) and 3 unmarked detectives units (staffed with one male and one female officers)

    11) back to the Fire side of things: I also have B4-1 (Safety Officer) in game with his car and B5-5 (Special Ops Chief) and his unit in game. They serve no special purpose for game play, but, if you're like me and like to have a 'Command Post' at a large fire, they looke pretty good standing around smoking a cigar lol

    12) on that note, I have added a Mobile Command Post (fictional) off the ATF Command Post, and stole the NY Mod's Negotiation vehicle to be a Mobile Communications Unit to augment comms at a large incident (also fictional)

    13) keeping with the fictional note, I got a little tired of the same old HazMat truck, so, I added a two piece HazMat 2. The main rig has the NY Mod's ESU Heavy Rescue, repainted, and the second piece runs the ESU pick-up thingy. Both can deploy HazMat Decon Tents, so, I use them quite a bit lol

    14) lastly, or, all I can think of right now, I edited the infos for the chiefs, the engines, ladders, and most of the other fire units, to where their real fire house is, and who's with them. The exception is HazMat 2 and HazMat 2A, who I threw in with Engine 35 and Ladder 15.

    As I said, I think that's all, or, at least, that's most recent. I've completely redone ALL the Skins on the fire trucks, NY State Police, State Trooper, Erie County Sherriffs Office Cars and Deputies, all the Ambulances, pretty much everything...

    I hope to have you screenshots soon, I'm still working, I haven't forgotten about you guys :P

  16. Hey I just moved from BC to Ontario!!! Where about are you planning on moving to?

    No kidding?! Is your house still for sale? wanna trade? lol My better half is originally from Vernon, so, I have a feeling that's where we'll end up... She's dead-set on going back as soon as she's done school, and I'm already lookin into Vernon Fire. Welcome to Ontario, by the way! :cool::holdglass:

  17. Hey guys! As a fellow Canuck, I had to jump in and say: fookin' eh! My girlfriend is from B.C., so I'm looking forward to playing something from my soon-to-be stomping grounds! If you guys need any help, let me know.. I'm good with lighting, I can edit skins (I can't U.V. Map [yet]), and I can do editing of models in ZModeler... As I said, I can't really do much from scratch, but I can edit stuff pretty darn good...
