  3. I am trying to simple move the aerial ladder from la mod to a private mod and get no image to it. or it's tires. I tried this step as well as the excel trick and neither worked for me. Any ideas? This is the only unit this is happening too. Bless you. I had an issue with this one.

  7. Thanks rafaelmfernandez and Dyson. I was just impressed that you folks are really great with even the smallest details and realism. I thought it deserved it's own status. The odd thing is I moved from West Pennsylvania to South West Texas to avoid snow and here I am in game with snow. rofl

  9. Not too throw a wrench in the works however a few odd questions? Why a sub mod of Los Angeles Mod v2.0 and not Los Angeles Mod v2.1 or since it is NYC why not NYC MOD 1.0? Then again why a sub mod instead of a mod? NYSubmod2.3 is outstanding. I know someone will smack me for this post.
  10. I am new at this however seen in a few posts recommendations to never change the metastrings.xml. I am confused are you renaming the ID to fire-engine, ENGINE01, or DPL01. Well in any case make sure in the vehicles folder the Unit.xml and in your mods "Specs" folder portraits.xml, in your "Lang" infotexts.xml and portraits.xml reflect the same exact ID. Just a suggestion However it might be a good idea to elaborate a little more also; Are you changing an ID on a unit in it's original mod? Is this a unit that is imported from another mod? What exactly is not showing up the unit itself in game or the name and description text displayed on the menu in game?

After reading Hoppah's tutorials "Basic Modding Info" located at http://www.emergency...emid=35〈=en and "Adding Vehicles" located at http://www.emergency...emid=35〈=en I attempted to create a new mod for my personal use that included vehicles from other Mods. I know it sounds easy and after 6 attempts costing 31 hours I found out it actually is. If you follow directions carefully and at times hunt through the forum here for little missed clues. As promised once I figured it out (TADA) Here is the Tutorial. Highlighting some of my mistakes and adding a few notes. Also found at my site http://rodneymillerp...isc/e4tut1b.pdf Update! This method did not work with LA mods aerial ladder. For some reason the base does not show up. Also I think the doors. I just borrowed the NY Mod one.   16. In the editor? If so make sure in the vehicle editor at the bottom where it says "Modelfile:" is correct and the file is in correct location. I had that issue once also. Also in the editor the one I am sliding over did appear as a box until I moved the units files over. I also had to edit the prototype location in the units.xml Example: From <prototype name="mod:Prototypes/Vehicles/03 LA Police/cv_chp.e4p" /> to <prototype name="mod:Prototypes/Vehicles/Police/cv_chp.e4p" /> since I am using simple file structure. This really should be something extremely simple once you logically figure out what files are connected to what. I have been working on it 12 hours today and 6 hours on it last night. Insane!

  18. Yes. I also since posting tried it with another simple unit without the special crew. I have been over and over the tut. I am either missing the same step somewhere or there is a step missing? It's odd.
  19. Thank you for the response. I could not agree with you more. I have been for about 6 hours working on coping the motorcycle from LA mod 2.1 into a test mod. (This is not for public release! I would not do that with out proper permission and credit) Since this question is all over the forum as I get it I will post a complete tut and link all the loose posts to it. The least I can do. Ok. To explain how I am going about this. I am using "Emergency 4 Modding" Tut "3 Adding Vehicles" authored by "Hoppah" found here http://www.emergency...emid=35〈=en 1) Created the mod in editor and exited. 2)Created Lang,Models,Prototypes, Specs, and units folders. I also created the proper sub folders (In this case models\Vehicle\Police models\persons\Police (since this unit has a specific rider) Prototypes\Vehicle\Police & Prototypes\Persons\Police and finally Units\Vehicle\Personnel 3)I moved copy and pasted the proper model and texture files 4)I also corrected where need be the change from "03 LA Police" to simply "Police" in the "v30" model files. This is the point I believe it showed up perfect in the Editor. 5)I copy and pasted over the proper commands file since this unit had some unique commands and double checked that in the editor. 6)l edited the unit.xml as needed. 7)I copied the Spec files I needed from the "data" and edited them as needed. 8)I copied the lang files I needed from the "data" and edited as needed. So to wrap it up. It is in the editor perfectly. Yet not showing up in the freeplay menu after loading the test mod. Where did I boo-boo? BTW I also tried keeping them as original named "03 LA Police" and edited where needed as well. I get it perfect in editor and not in game. P.S. Again this mod will not be available to public without proper permission and credit. I will do a full tut on it if I fine the boo-boo here though. I like LAMOD and NYCMOD just the way they are. This mod I am doing is just for the little ones to goof with for the most part.
  20. I am also trying to figure that out as well. E4 is excellent and the mods as well. A lot of top notch talent here. My other question is why don't we have an area to download the individual vehicles to slide into mods? The creators can then get individual credit as well as sub credits within mods.
  21. Good heavens don't let it die! I just discovered you and EM4. There is a lot of excellent work here. I would buy it at that bargain price however already host. I volunteer to host any files related to here if anyone needs the extra host though. That is an excellent price though.
  22. I am new to EM4 and have not multi-played as of yet. The basic game from what I see there is 6 listed. Only 1 English though. LA Mod 2.1 is showing about 10 most English. None currently showing for NYC Mod 1.01.Give the list a few minutes more to load or try at a different time maybe?
