  1. Is there such thing as a volunteer ambulance anywhere in the world? And the volunteer fire company idea would be awesome if there was a way to slow down the speed of the fire but other than that it wouldn't be fun at all because you'll have a whole block on fire kinda like where I live because we're all volunteers here and its all row homes which sucks but luckily we have a fast response or this town would be burn to the ground.

In honestly... Many volunteer departments would get to a scene much later than a staffed department.

  2. @ Commander Rasseru, if you mean the textures, not at all, if you mean pathing, it really depends on how you set up the paths... if all lanes go straight and do NOT deviate, it is rather easy, if they turn off for example you can have problems with traffic flow relatively easilly, unfortunately. Human intervention on the 4+ lane roads can easilly make a mess of the traffic patters, not unlike real life actually... you have to do many things differently in order to successfully redirect traffic flows on them due to how the paths must be constructed.

What? Pathing? That's wasn't even a pathing question...

Id like to make to be able to put it into the game.

This has been look at before and Center Turntable Ladders are very hard to place in the game. No one was ever to make an script that could work for one. Sorry :(

Big is not always is better... Technology and Power can be hold within the small engines.

  4. Yeah, but you can't base a country off one state... That's like basing Japan off a City

I didn't say a single thing about Japan. Read my posts... :gruebel:

Does it matter? it is an EXAMPLE! Tokyo isnt the whole of Japan, nor is some volunteer depts or certain key cities a defined definition of american departments.... GET OFF THE FACT THAT AMERICA IS FULL OF CHUBBY CHASERS! In the end if it's that important visit e-health.com or something and dispute the overall unhealthy nature of america now, not just one profession.

  5. "Even Future Firemen Will Be Obese, Says Study"

Researchers from Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM), Boston Medical Center, Harvard University and the Cambridge Health Alliance found that more than 75 percent of emergency responder candidates for fire and ambulance services in Massachusetts are either overweight or obese. The findings in the journal Obesity on March 19 may have significant consequences for public health and safety.

Emergency responders (firefighters, ambulance personnel and police) are expected to be physically fit to perform strenuous duties without compromising the safety of themselves, colleagues or the community. Traditionally, these professions recruited persons of above- average fitness from a pool of healthy young adults but the candidate pool is currently drawn from an increasingly heavy American youth.

    You should read that story...

Also this story of a Scotland Firefighter.

    http://www.hrblunders.com/fireman-fired-for-being-too-fat/

Most firefighters who have health problems or being overweight get resign to a desk job.

It shows how American is relax in firing a firefighter for overweight problems.

    But might be some departments.

To not to start fights... Look in topics and research yourself. Or ask for my sources.

Yippieee I can't let this go so I get a warning instead of going back to the original topic! thanks!

  6. Because we all problems in every country.... Even the ones you live in... We are not perfect.

People hate problems... If you never see your problem then you can't fix them.

Like how many people don't like the president or hate the wars. In free societies, people have the rights to say what they think or have study but with that right comes a level of responsibility to be mature and civil with your discussions.

Removed the crap above this and altered the words as necessary to be more diplomatic.....

  7. Too lazy to rewrite quote.

I wish to be clear on what I mean... I meant SOME of the departments and SOME of the firemen... I meant in no way to imply it was all of america...

Not all departments see this as a problem...

This been growing problem since Americans are having weight problems from the food we eat.

Yes, I had to rewrite this one too! Yippie fer me=(

  8. Im 17 first off and yea thats why is an orange helmet. BUT @commander, yes there are overweight firemen here in USA, but most of the overweight firemen are drivers and pump operators, NOT mask men. And then again, USA is the "fattest" country in the world since a certain high percentage of americans are over weight. Look at this dude.. hes just lazy, and aint american

That's a joke picture... We don't know why it was made and I bet he doesn't do that all the time. Plus I don't think he is over weight.

  9. In short, yes it is possible, but beyond difficult, your primary problem would be your vehicles, not the traffic cars.... you can dictate to them to stay on a specific path, however, the problemo comes when you try to merge them into normal surface traffic.... You set the speed by path not by road so you'd have to create the "illusion" cars get on and off the highway and have them not really do so unfortunately.... Otherwise you'll have hwy cars stack behind surface cars. The spawn points must be placed PERFECTLY, if one is too high/too close to a non transitable object it will get jammed up. IF You try this you have to be willing to devote tons of time to troubleshoot thousands of problems that will result on this road. Even without events on it, you will have a tough road ahead of you but yeap you can theoretically do it with rediculous patience. As far as how your vehicles behave around it I am not entirely sure what they would do, but generally I doubt anyone would be so stupid as to leave a vehicle on an overpass/underpass then try to move them..... eventually it should solve it's pathing I'd think.

Well if that's a problem for normal surface traffic for the ramps? Then Units could be the only the ones to use the ramps to get on the highways.

This looks like a real model has to be made and tested fully. To see the problem that will cause.

  10. Yeah, it's possible... Wood's map has a four-lane highway that's reduced to 2 lanes in one point for construction... I'd talk to him...

(Yay, as of this post, I'm a Captain :) Drinks on me! :holdglass: )

I want to see I can make two lane Expressways for a map and design them to work with a map.

I maybe do a 4 lane... But are hard to see under them.

You generally see other nation's Firemen in there 30s and 40s that are still fit in weight size and able to pick up the weight to carry a person, that is not to say that america does not have physical standards in some departments, it depends on the department.

I seen rookies in some departments that are over weight when they join the crew the first time.

Honestly the US standards for fitness rules for SOME departments have been relaxed...

I'm proud of Departments that are still strict with there fitness rules.

I'm saying some of Departments need to look better care with themselves.

Yea most of Americans don't like to be out of shape at all when they are doing something like firefighting. Me personally like to train every week and work out all the time. Its will be my career one day and i know i will be good at what i do. I mean just look at me lol

I'm glad you and your Departments that thinks that fitness is a good need for them. When you join?

I wish other departments are like that. I hope that the older Firemen are not to bad in shape?

  12. what do you mean showing off that vid? also it may be hard to make a higway if you intend for there to be events due to the elivation problems. But it should be possible but it would be hard to get cars to drive on it.

Ok, I like to see if others agree or don't agree with you point out problems. Or that its easy to fix.

Could Highways and Expressways work in EM?

I know that ramps could work. But can an fully Modeled Expressway with off ramps and on ramps work?

It would be like bridges in the game. But they are very short.

I like to see a Expressway going across and around the maps. Maybe going over buildings and forest areas. Maybe even roads that follow under the high way that could still be seen...

I like to work on this more... But I like to know if it could happen to work?

Any ideas or help with this could be useful.
