Neither did I until I was right next to one of them and I saw the MX7000 sticker. The top part has rotors while the bottom part has LEDs..

I'm not usually the one to post about this kind of stuff, but I'm sure you've all heard about the huge earthquake that took place in Haiti on Tuesday.. It was a 7.0 and so far is expected to have claimed at least 50,000 lives. I guess this can be best described as a place to share your stories, any missing you know, or update with more news.. I'll try to be responsible for news updates myself, but feel free to add in. UN soldier James Coates is my friends brother, and he was over in the UN headquarters in port-au-prince, which was the epicentre for the quake and was doing a video conference online with another UN soldier outside of the Haitian area, back home in Canada. That was approximately quarter to five Tuesday. During the conference, the link was disconnected after Coates said something about shaking. The UN building has collapsed and so far the UN is reporting over 300 missing, Coates being one. Last time I checked, the confirmed death toll in that one building was 30+ Also, a man I met over the summer works with the Salvation Army in Haiti, and I was talking to him, he said the school that the SA operates was built to US code for earthquakes and aside from a few stairwell collapses and very minor damage, the building was fine.. If the quake happened 3 hours earlier, during school, the students would've been much safer. However when they reopen and do roll call, he is expecting a large number to be missing and dead from the earthquake damage to sub-par homes. If you have any stories to share, or anything really, feel free to post here.

Here our police cars have MX7000 bars, more or less a mix of the traditional rotars and LEDs in the bars... However we do use a few LED ones.. not often though. The lights consist of the bars which run when responding, then the officer can activate more lights with a button, mainly for intersections or traffic areas, but headlights wig wag, the reverse and brake lights alternate, and a few extra lights in the bar come on, it's rather attention grabbing. We use mainly impalas, so that's for them. The chargers are a mix between slicktops and LED bars, but more or less the same configuration.

You have the use right, but not the location.. google the department name, this is the first fire truck to show up, and if you google the place name and country, this site has a link in images EDIT The link is forbidden, can't see it.. Just figured out a way in there, yeah gamer you have it. -
Guess the Emergency Vehicle Challenge

I expect someone to get this Maybe one of my colleagues? -
Or maybe if people would read the TOS they agree to that'd solve all the problems. Then if they don't like it, don't agree.. Plain and simple

Guess the Emergency Vehicle Challenge
Newfoundking replied to Newfoundking's topic in [EN] Off Topic
Just for the record, you can require the location of the vehicle, or where it's supposed to be, however like if it's a US Army truck with the MPs then that is sufficient to my rules.. ALSO for the record, you do not need to supply the use, that's just bonus points While I'm here, might as well win It's a Rhino Runner used by the US Armed forces in places such as Iraq. It's an armoured bus.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhino_Runner "The Rhino Runner is a type of armored bus used extensively in Iraq, especially on the infamous Route Irish between Baghdad International Airport and The Green Zone" -
Just for the record, all of those PM's Hoppah had were not reports.. Every time there is a report sent, every single moderator gets it, not just one.. Then it's a mad rush to see who can handle it first...
-
And I think it's bad when I come home from a run and have 12 reports in there
-
Yeah they said they have a second dispatch screen that will make units easier to handle and all that. Have yet to see it, but they are reinventing the game as we know it, so you never know
-
Uh oh disappearing prototypes! If this never happened before, and you updated drivers or something, roll back, or if you didn't, try to update... Still with disappearing models.. Then try lowering settings, these might help a bit

The wigwag headlights are used primarily to gain more attention of the drivers, nowadays they are steering away from them with the LED lightbars and much more options for driver attention grabbing devices.. The headlight flashers are able to be purchased just like lightbars and all that, it gets hooked up to your fuses, and when turned on the headlights blink in whatever pattern you set it to. A lot of places chose to purcahse other types of attention grabbing lights instead of these.. They are extremely popular with unmarked cruisers, especially older ones before the LED phenomenon, The main reason for this is less lights have to be put on the vehicle so it won't stand out as much.

Stupid policies that police have in your country
Newfoundking replied to 917893678251's topic in [EN] Off Topic
I can't say I quite understand the point of this topic.. I am 100% positive on duty police officers are not running their emergency lights the entire time. As far as I can tell this is just another topic to talk about china -

Off-the-Job Emergencies you've encountered
Newfoundking replied to njboy13's topic in [EN] Off Topic
In Canada I can walk past an emergency and not help, it is nice if I call 911 or emergency but I am not required... Just like even when I was just emergency first aid certified I could walk past any scene and not help.. Icould if I wanted but I was not required too.. Obviously higher training requires that you help, but it is not so much for basic first aid -
More or less: Mission scripts run the entire time allowing many other things to happen that would not be able to happen such as triggers and timers.. Freeplay script is much different as it is much more limiting. You could make fake this and that in a mission however it is impossible to do that for freeplay, at least as far as everyone knows

-10? Woohoo! That's almost shorts weather here! I woke up this morning, went for my run and was quite pleased that it reached 0

Off-the-Job Emergencies you've encountered
Newfoundking replied to njboy13's topic in [EN] Off Topic
I've been headed home many times and I've come by car accidents, usually EMS or fire is on scene, any they'll have the situation under control, however once or twice I've been out and about and we were the first to see the accident, so we'd end up calling 911, and providing medical assistance, (we are all at least first responder medical trained in my family) until the paid guys show up, then we just basically bring them up to speed and continue on with our lives. Never had to deal with something bad, usually it's like font to front or rear enders.. Only minor stuff. I was at my friends once when his step sister managed to catch the stove on fire. Got to meet the fire department again that day, this time on less than ideal terms. We had the fire almost completely extinguished before the trucks arrived though, so it was again nothing major. What else is there? My dad had the brilliant idea of working on the truck and he didn't secure it, so it fell off the jack and landed on top of him. He managed to get out from under it while 911 was being called, then he just kinda waited for the ambulance, he was still breathing and all that, all I could really do was wait for the paramedics, and get his drug info ready for them. He has a high pain tolerance.. Apparently he should be missing half his foot but he managed to get out before any major damaged could be done. His foot is still blue and purple though. He jokes some people paint their toes, he paints his foot from the inside out. The rest I've encountered has just been like passing out, minor medical problems.. well I consider it minor, but keep in mind I saw the paramedics at my house so often over a three year period, they all knew me by name and vice versa, and I even got a birthday gift from one once A lot of my friends and family will end up passing out or requiring an ambulance at least once a year, nothing major, but like if they pass out and strike their head, or are unresponsive after 5 minutes(a chronic condition a friend has) then we need to call an ambulance, so I'll usually deal with paramedics once or twice a month. -
Now I know that we do have the oldest civil police force in North America, yes older then NYPD or any others for that matter, however I didn't really read the entire history, I do believe it's on the RNC's site though. I am a little more up to date on the Fire departments history. It does not have royal status nor is it the oldest (I don't think so anyways.) It was founded after the second great fire in the 1800's because almost the entire city had burned down twice in less than 50 years. Now in the entire history of the department, which I think is pretty cool, only one fire fighter has ever died on duty. Isn't that pretty awesome? And he didn't die at a fire, he actually died in the station back when they used horses and carts. He was walking around the horse bay I guess it could be called, when a box alarm from downtown went off and it scared a horse awake, and then it ran him over, cart and all. Needless to say he lost that battle. Since the St. John's fire department has started in the 1800's it has grown substantially and now is the St. John's regional Fire department, covering most of the greater Metro area, and has it's own website now and everything. It's still pretty new and you can find a much more detailed history at http://www.sjrfd.ca For those of you interested in the RNC history, their main site is: http://www.rnc.gov.nl.ca/default.htm History link for the RNC is: http://www.rnchs.ca/ (Yes it's so old it gets it's own society)
