  1. I have temporarily disabled the download from my web server as the bandwidth has been exceeded this month. After reviewing the logs, some dude in Hungry downloaded the file 52 times. No freaking clue what he was doing. There were a few others that downloaded the file multiple times over and over as well. When Feb 1st comes around, I should be able to open it back up again and let some other people download it. Although I will put in a script that will limit the downloading per day per IP.

    Sorry guys.

  2. AS for that hose water rescue thing... It is interesting.

But I know that since what they do is water rescue, they are going to have real tools made specifically for water rescues, instead of improvising and using hose.

There are products designed to take advantage of this fact that a floating hose is better than a thin rope that sometimes gets dragged under the surface.

I posted a link to one above.

  3. Interesting, is it regular hose or some sort of specialty?

Regardless, since you can't use hose in that function ingame, the hose should stay off the SWR truck.

I believe it is a regular hose that they just screw on the caps which have air hose nipples. I just saw a couple of photos of them using it the other day, but after spending about 30 minutes looking for the photos on the net, I wasn't able to find them.

  4. I suppose they CAN, but why would a truck designed for water rescues need hoses since there never going to be front line for fighting.

Actually, what they do is put on a cap on each end of the hose and then fill them with air. Makes a boom that floats and it bigger to have people grab onto.

I know the swift water rescue teams from LA use them, just not sure if they are actually carried on the SWR units.

  5. I have one sitting in my closet. Its an old pos, but it works. It may not be a whole 10 years old but its pretty close. Its an old CRT monitor.

Resolutions over 1080 have been around since the late 50s. HD resolutions are nothing new, its just they have been recently become standard.

Monitors (CRT or LCD), have not done x 1080 resolution until recently. The x 1080 is the width... not the height.

    For your reference here

  6. I do not see why either, I hope he can look into this. It is a really HUGE annoyance, It almost makes me not want to visit multiplayer anymore because i always see that bug, the dogs block the streets, People stack up in corners and stack across roads. It is almost impossible to even deal with because the second u fix one of them there is another somewhere else.

Consider them jaywalkers. Pretty realistic if you ask me for LA :holdglass:

  8. Hello, i have a problem with the Los Angeles Mod for EM 4. When i play the cars starts to become colorful (sometimes happens with the building too!!) and the emergency personal like firefighters and police officers become transparent. Do you have a answer for me? ( the only choice is to change ghraphical settings every 5-6 minutes ) And if i set " floor shadows on, the floor became black and the cars too. :nixweiss:

    Hoppah, I think you're a genius! Exellent mod! :12:

Try reinstalling/updating your video card drivers. Unfortunately you issue isn't caused by the LA Mod.

  9. I don't think there is a leader but I see what you mean.

There are usually about 3 people with the big signs - :protest:

And taking out the 'leader' doesn't effect the other protesters.

When I get the riot dispatch, I get officers on scene pretty quick. That early in the riot there is one person with the sign and the others are just throwing their arms up.

In every instance that I've arrested the leader, the rest of the people disperse. I still arrest them, because they show up on the map as part of the goal though.

  10. Thanks for LA MOD 2.0 even though this one was kinda skinny compared to the other ones (I thought v2 would be something big) but still has some nice features.

I'd like to give a suggestion and that is to make it more clear once a new version is out, I think it's pretty hard to find out because all that is changed is a new description, "discuss LA Mod 2.0" under the topic.

(OFF TOPIC question: Do ambulances in LA really patrol!? Anyone got a link?)

You want an announcement on the nightly news? There is a tacked topic that Hoppah updates. I'd go subscribe to that and you'd be notified when that thread is updated.

  11. You dont strike me as network engineer, but none the less, its obvious that defrag will help performance if you understand what it does.

Please, AVG free is a joke, unless we are talking free anti viruses. Again, check tech forums and see what people recommend in terms of paid anti virus software. Just looking at Wikipedia alone, Nod32 by far, is the most recommended of all. AVG was by far the worst.

I don't strike you? How do you think network engineers should "act"? I do understand what a defrag is intended to accomplish. Yet if you bothered to test if it helps or not, you'd know that if there is any performance gain, it is negligible.

I don't check tech forums because the validity of the users posting there runs from the guy that still thinks his CD tray is a coffee cup holder to the guy that thinks that OC'ing his computer to 4.0Ghz makes him the coolest guy on the planet.

Wikipedia is user added content... no valid tests there either.
