"Metro" units are the ones that are assigned to the cities "Metro" rail and bus transportation services. They patrol the bus stations and rail stations, as well as have officers that ride on the bus and railcars.
The county was tasked with providing the services rather than the individual cities due to the logistics involved.

Apart from the LAcoFD and LAFD are their any other agencies which handle 'Rescue' (In terms of MVAs, etc) in California?
In California, there are hundreds probably. Did you mean in the city of Los Angeles or the whole state of California.

Hey guys, I was looking at the real versions of the three new helicopters Hoppah made, and I noticed that the LASD bird had a few minor differences from the LAPD and CHP ones. I was wondering if they were from different years or just different customization of the birds? If anyone from around their, such as mikesphotos could answer it would be great, I'm just curious.
Differences such as?

very cool but dont LASD use Sea kings?
They do have one, called "Air 5", but is is almost entirely used for search and rescue operations within the county.

No offense, but those cars look like crap. What is the point of even releasing these?

I saw a video of
in LAPD coloursAnd it isn't even in the US... fail.

audi S8 is official LAPD car
LAPD doesn't use an Audi make of car at all in its fleet. Undercover or marked.

Will you be the one modeling and scripting it??? I doubt it so don't worry about it.
So because I'm not the one doing the work, I can't give my opinion?

What use is there for warning lights, traffic vests, 3 divisions of squad cars, two different boats, and two different fire engines? Oh yeah, realisim.
All of those things mentioned have uses within the game though, with the exception of the traffic vests. It is a work vs. reward scenario with the creation of sand bags. Will spending all the time it takes to model them, script them and test them, really make that much of a benefit or impact within the game. I doubt it.
Again, there is no actual use for them within the game. They would be there simply for aesthetics and add one more command... that is it.

Hey Hops!
I played through the L.A. mod the other night and played through the original camp. (8 hours! Record time!) and in the flood level I was thinking "It would be cool if there were sandbags"
Would this be something you may consider for future versions as an additional command to the National guard unit.
What would be the point of those in this game? There aren't any missions that require you to stop flooding or prevent it. I'm all for new ideas, if they would add a great feature or use in the game... but in my option (not worth much), sandbags wouldn't provide much for gameplay.

I think it would be amazing to have another fire station! Most cities don't have two stations. This would make EM4 more realistic in ways. I think it would be a great thing to have. Looking forward to the release of this submod. Hopefully you'll get permission to add a 3rd fire station in.
Depends on what city this is being modeled after. Almost every city in Southern California has multiple fire stations within their cities. I live in a medium sized city for the LA area and there 5 fire stations here and one training facility with a helipad for the PD's helicopters.

mostly a cosmetic thing but i noticed the red windscreen mounted light on both the unmarked and slicktop cars don't flash...
That is by design. In California, there is a law that requires law enforcement vehicles to have a steady "burning", front facing, red light.

Error in new map LA MOD 2.0 Look at photo.
Try reading the bug list thread on here. None of what you posted is new, other people have brought this up many times and there are some fixes for some of it.

I believe CTRL+Arrow keys allow you to rotate, if it isn't those, try PgUP, PgDn, Insert, etc.

Standpipes are used as a water distribution system within a building. The firefighters carry un-charged hoses to upper floors, connect to standpipe connections on those floors and charge their lines.
And yes, the water goes TO the building from a pumper.

Hoppah, what part of LA does the new freeplay map represent? Since the sign for the shopping center says Figueroa Shopping Center, I can only presume that it's on Figueroa street.
Since Figueroa Street runs from Eagle Rock to Wilmington, and Wilmington is near the port, I would imagine the area represented in the map would be Wilmington.
I think he just took parts of LA and incorporated them into a collective map. I can tell you from living here, that Wilmington is full of oil refineries and looks like utter crap

404 Errors are the result of a file that doesn't exist. You'll probably have to find another source to download 1.9 from.
Edited to Add: That lamodificationcenter.com website has a lot of errors on it, incorrect links and missing files. Not really put together that nicely in my opinion.

Thats how to tag a fire hydrant
Then for those people are aren't in the fire fighting profession... like the mod maker... you should explain that "tagging" a hydrant is hooking the pumper up to a hydrant for water supply.

There were a few vehicles stuck near intersections for no season. I took a frap shot and will get more later. I like to get these vehicles tow assessable. If its possible, tell me how?
Shoot it until it becomes on fire, then put out the fire, tow and repeat as needed on other vehicles.

If your system is saving the .zip file as a Word doc with the .doc extension, there is a messed up association somewhere. Have you tried it in Internet Explorer and Firefox?
Say the downloaded file is "Los_Angeles_Mod_v2-0_by_Hoppah.doc", rename it to "Los_Angeles_Mod_v2-0_by_Hoppah.zip". You should be able to open up that zip file with your default archive program (WinRAR, WinZip, 7Zip, etc.). Extract the two files within the zip file to your desktop or a temporary folder. You need to run the mod installer, "Los Angeles Mod v2.0.exe", that will run the installer which will then install the files for the mod into the game.
If the file is saving with the .zip extension, but when you double click on the file Word opens, your system has .zip associated with Word as the default program. Holding down the Shift button, click on the .zip file and choose "Open With". Select your zip file program from the list and check the box to always open that type of file with that program. That should fix the association problem for you.

so i cleard my catch, temp files, and all temp downloads in hopes that the LA mod download would download fine, it didnt. the download is still downloading as a word document, again the patch however downloaded perfectly, any more ideas?????
What is the size of the "word" doc? If it is the same size as the mod (152MB), rename the file with a .zip extension on it and try opening it.
If your system is saving it as a Word doc... you've got some problems on your side.

I have the new version of the game that includes the 2012 stuff, plus a few new missions.
The Frankfurt mission in which there is a radioactive cloud can not be completed so far. The 3 guys on the tanker are contaminated but only 1 jumps in the water. The other two will not jump into the water at all and therefore I can not rescue them. They end up collapsing after a while and then ultimately die on the top of the tanker.
any ideas?
