  1. Hi, hope everyone is enjoying these reskins. I need a bit of help with some scripting that I can't get to work as currently when a unit is dispatched by the Battalion chief from the station the following happens in this order: station alarm sounds - vehicles emergency lights turn on – crew spawn from station doors and head to the vehicle – once the crew are in the vehicle the station door opens and the vehicle responds - station door closes. I don’t know exactly how the turn out goes in LA but I'm a Kiwi firemen and think it would be more realistic if things happened in the following order: station alarm sounds and station door opens – crew spawn from station doors and head to the vehicle – vehicles emergency lights turn on once the crew are inside the vehicle and then it responds - station door closes So if anyone can help let me know as I have tried and failed to get it to work. (I have posted in the alterations section but no one has responded.) Cheers.

I have tried myself for my own mod but didn't quite understand enough to get it to work, I'm sure those with a bit more scripting skill will be able to sort it if they think it’s a more realistic way of portraying a station response. I don’t know of any Fire stations that have their trucks emergency lights automatically turn on when the bells go down lol

  4. Is anyone familiar with what part of the battalion chief and/or fire station script would need to be changed to get all the station doors to open at the same time the station alarm is activated when a unit is dispatched by the battalion chief? Cheers.

This mod/reskin is dedicated to all those affected by the disaster in Christchurch and to my colleagues that make up the bulk of the New Zealand USAR teams working to save and recover the victims of the quake. Here are my New Zealand emergency vehicle reskins for the LA 2.0.2 Mod (you need the Update v2.0.2 installed). You will also need the "Additional Units Submod" by Hoppah with at least the coast guard dolphin installed (I recommend the alternate sirens as well). Also included is a New Zealand Fire Service Fire Station Alarm. I also recommend the Project Reality Lights sub mod. Instillation instuctions are included in the READ ME FIRST file. All credit goes to Hoppah for all his work on the LA Mod.   9. Yea sure, when I'm done I didn't think there would be much interest out there since its little old New Zealand haha. The skins are fictional as our Fire Service and ambulance are separate (for now) and are more British in the way it’s organised. These skins have a ‘what if’ theme, as if the New Zealand Fire Service was run/organised with a bit more North American influence. As such I have done a few edits to the models data and scripts, that’s why there are two pumps with the same skin and model- one is a paramedic engine (engine01) and the other (engine02) a pump rescue tender with rescue gear etc

  11. Thanks for the offer to help but I have just managed to get my head around the reskinning process and am giving it ago myself. I had some issues with wy Vista folder settings which stoped me editing the right files but that is all sorted now Here is what Iv'e done so far:

  13. I have made the changes to the unit xml file but that only stops it showing up in the list of equipment each unit has before you buy it in the side of the screen unit menu. The firefighters are still able to get the piece of equipment from the ladder truck. It's the cutters/jaws of life I am trying to remove.

  17. Cheers guys, I´ve had issues with the moding of my scripts so I now have a fresh, patched LA mod install with no changes. I have tried changing the script myself and keep mucking it up, so based on having the standared LA mod with no changes to the script what would I need to change in the LA Battalion chiefs script to get the tiller in my light force? If someones doesn't mind helping out and hopfully I´ll be able to pick up what I need to know to do this kind of thing myself. Cheers again, Dan.
  18. Hi guys, I’ve replaced my aerial ladder truck with the Tiller in my freeplay game. However I want the Tiller to be dispatched as part of the light force that is brought and dispatched from off the map when there are no light force units available on the map and you use the Battalion chief to call for a light force. So I was hoping someone might have already done this by editing the Battalion chief script and could let me know what to change? Cheers, Dan.
  19. What is the best setting to have you 'min duration between events’ at? I find the stock 60 gives you to many to quick. I know there was I post called ‘how to edit your freeplay files’ that had a good number to use but the post is inaccessible /removed. Cheers, Dan.
