  1. Hello: I really want to get into making some content for EM5, I've been making original 3d assets for Arma, but here is the main question. Yes, there is no documentation so this isn't one of those ridiculous "how do I into import mods" posts. My question is how EM5 Will handle importing a full mod package, like EM4. As of yet the only mods I see you need to actually edit the game's base files, which is obviously far from ideal. Has anyone in the community figured out how to have a mod have its own folder in a mod directory to house its assets, missions, etc? Richards
  2. I just played, after that patch I as well get about 10fps more. Hopefully once we get the end of the week update we can get some more fixes so we can finally get 60 on High settings with powerful computers
  3. Dosed Monkey, can you run some diagnostics like GPU utilization, RAM, CPU, average FPS, low FPS and settings etc. I am just very curious if you are getting better performance how it was achieved. Also, please no one get the idea that because it doesn't run well that it is a bad game, or a failure. I do not think that, most people do not. I don't think anyone believes that there was not hard work put in, but at the same time we cannot be blinded by the obvious deficiencies and examine them for improvement.
  4. I've played 11hrs now, so I'll give my impressions. Multiplayer seems... not to work correctly? It appears "Cooperative" is just competitive again. I have deduced this as a result of some specific evidence: Timed? No point to time coopNo choice between endless and challenge like single playerShows individual scoresAlso, no traffic. No idea what is up with that. Very few units in MP, I looked and it's just a simple JSON script that just has "0" set for the amount of most of the units. No idea why. Your friend's units are transparent, no idea why, and they are not even completely transparent. Really bizzare Single player campaign does have cut-scenes.. most of the premises of the missions are beyond ridiculous. There are a few logical emergencies, but most devolve into really bizarre situations (I won't give any "spoilers", although I do not think it matters much) of random explosions. This was until I reached the Oil Rig/Flood mission which is broken so I cannot play any further. Freeplay single player has some things right. First, variety of emergencies tends to go into the realim of realism with car accidents, fires, etc. Not like stock EM4 which was a collection of insane things. But this is my major issue with the game. Yes, not the FPS, that is the MAJOR issue, but that can be resolved and is not subjective. For me, the pace of the game is too quick. In EM4, you could get simultaneous emergencies. But it was not the rule, it was the exception. Now, there is also no break between missions. Just a few seconds to send your units back to base to prepare for 2 more imminent emergencies. In EM4/3, the emergencies came at random intervals, much like real life. I cannot take time to appreciate anything. Not the models, the graphics, or even focus on a specific emergency because I am so over-run constantly switching tasks.. it is far too fast paced in my opnion. Here is an example: I do not even use police unless it is a police emergency. In EM4 Say LA Mod, I would always use police to block the road, redirect and so forth. Now, I am so over run I don't have time to do those activities, I just go, let the 4 cars get backed up because there is so little traffic, and then move on. No emergent game-play. As for the units, I am impressed in this area. Police are very powerful now, great arsenal of tools. Fire is about the same, automatic hose connections is a mixed bag, when it works it is nice, when it doesn't it is a right pain in the ass. THW (Technical Rescue units) are nice.. but they ALL have sirens. The tech service Range Rover, I get it. The tow truck.. I can't. The crane... I really can't. Just makes no sense in my opinion. Also.. no flood lights on vehicles anymore. That was useful at night, makes no sense I am at a car accident in the bloody dark reviving people. Any thoughts on this?
  5. Played 2 more hours, here are some more issues I found: Using the "Follow Me" camera makes the vehicle jitter all over the road The Hydraulic Outriggers on the Ladder Truck do not extend properly. Instead of extending out from the vehicle, they extend through the ground and under the vehicle Attempting to send the Boat Deployment vehicle back to base on the port mission caused a game crash
  6. Retail only sir. Your steam copy will already be patched
  7. Just a question. I can find no options to use the editor in Multiplayer mode as the game advertised. Not a big deal, I had no idea how that could work. Regardless, can anyone confirm/deny this?
  8. No docs yet, did some preliminary examination. You can spawn "prefabs", assets such as the game vehicles. From there you can "detach" lights and other effects from it. No idea how to spawn in models, but when you use the object properties you can see the properties for say, a police car. All of the scripts are JSON files, easy to edit / open with Notepad ++. UI seems alright, buttons are basic but seem similar to programs like Max.
  9. Yes, indeed share. My friend has a 770, and he gets as bad FPS as I do with my 670 FTW edition
  10. FPS Is the main issue, but that was already mentioned. Here are some specific bugs: When loading a vehicle onto a rollback vehicle there is a chance it will vibrate on the crane and look very unpleasing A similar issue can happen with using the THW Recovery Helicopter. The patient being airlifted in the stretcher by winch can vibrate up and down rapdily Fire Engine gear rolling shutters do not shut sometimes, does not affect vehicle operation but looks visually jarring EOD Robot can get stuck into walls Pepper sprayed suspect will occasionally fight even if sprayed Almost no graphics options, except some default presets Very high RAM usage (<10GB) Police Officer Re-direct flaslight / baton does not work 100% of the time. Sometimes vehicles will not redirect and require the officer to be movedI've played about 5hrs today, I'll keep playing and see if I can find some more. My specs: i5 2500K 4Ghz12GB RAMGTX 670 FTW Edition
  11. My opinion? Well, seems mixed. The actual game is mechanically sound. Police seem very powerful as compared to EM4, where the vanilla police were very useless. Now, police officers have some actually decent tools besides simply fighting and potentially getting the suspect into custody. Fire vehicles look of good quality, their functions are similar. Hose physics are rather nice, Automatic hose movement is also nice. But everyone knows that is not the issue. I cannot get over 30fps on MEDIUM. I get it, Ultra should be maybe for future gen cards. But HIGH, that should be for today's higher end cards. I have a very powerful GTX 670, and I can't even get 60fps on LOW. Unacceptable. Also, I looked into it, and this game uses over 10gb of ram... I have enough but that is crazy. I feel as though this is not bad optimization, but has to be an error with the game, I honestly cannot imagine having such little optimization. Regardless, after a few patches when we can get 60fps on high, I think it will be very good. I was having quite a deal of fun just playing with 20-25 FPS, but it really limits how long I can play.
  12. So, as for the UK I am under the assumption it will be just the Steam variant, I think the boxed copies are only for Germany. The $85 price point I think is for the German Deluxe Edition with the Herpa Model vehicle as well. Prices will differ based on region I assume.
