  1. Probably this one: http://emergency-forum.de/ Edit Sorry, should have refreshed before coming back and posting.
  2. The game runs at a low framerate, regardless of graphics quality setting. The in-game textures are unreadable and smudged on low quality. The dispatcher's face is somewhat grotesque as well. The editor runs at 14-16 FPS with no map loaded and default graphics quality. The editor runs at 4-7 FPS with a map (Munich) loaded and default graphics quality. The editor runs at 15-29 FPS with no map loaded and graphics quality set to low (in as many places as I found). i7-4700MQ 2.4GHz GeForce GT 745M 2GB 16GB DDR3 Ram 1600x900 Resolution (1920x1080 max)
  3. Shows as available on Steam for me as well. I'll bet you can guess where all the bandwidth is going now.
  4. Nice perspective. Worth more than $0.02 (at least that's my $0.02 lol).
  5. It was supposed to be released November 28th at 12:00am CET (Nov. 27th, 5:00pm NA-CST). So far it doesn't appear to have been released on Steam though.
  6. Well, according to this tweet (as I also referenced) they are going to release a patch (for disc-holders first). I added on to that saying I hope it's to fix the collision bugs. No problem though! Edit: Just noticed the title and description of the video posted by the OP says the gameplay is before the patch has been applied, so we'll have to wait and see!
  7. Well, I actually said I hope that the patch is a fix for the collision bugs.
  8. They may very well have tried... we just don't know who's at fault for the Steam (non-)release, Steam, or STE? Outside of that, it's great to see some first gameplay... but I sure hope that the 1.1 patch (https://twitter.com/emergency5nl/status/538129480225931264) is a fix for some of the traffic/model collision bugs (as seen in the video).
  9. Doesn't look like it's UTC either... 2 minutes in and not seeing anything. Unless that tweet by DeepSilver is referring to 30 minutes after UTC. Though as referenced earlier, DeepSilver said it was CET: https://twitter.com/deepsilver/status/537992747853283328 As long as it comes out sometime today I'll be happy, as the official statement from STE only mentioned November 28, not any particular time (IIRC).
  10. If it's released world-wide at the same time and assuming you are in CST (North America), I would believe so, yes.
  11. Thanks for posting the pictures!
  12. According to an update on the store page, they've also fixed that fairly well-known registry setting mod installer issue as well! Good to hear it's been released on Steam though, maybe it'll give a boost to the player base? Not to mention it's now only a quarter of the original price!
  13. Deep Silver has (supposedly) released the initial version of the system requirements for Emergency 5. http://www.emergency-forum.de/board1-news/board44-newstime/59327-emergency-5-systemvoraussetzungen/
  14. Even if the computer's main use is not geared towards gaming, when you DO game, it's not going to run that well (if at all) on those specs. The latest spec requirements I've seen for Emergency 5 are here: http://www.emergency-forum.de/board1-news/board44-newstime/59327-emergency-5-systemvoraussetzungen/ Based on those (assuming they're final), Emergency 5 would not be able to run on the laptop you're suggesting, based on the graphics capabilities alone. If you can go up in screen size a little, you might take a look at a laptop like this one: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=9152163 I had a laptop with less specs than that one, and it was able to run Emergency 4 (and most) mods fairly decently. Huge fires/lots of particles weren't nice to it, but it still ran. This laptop is technically better than what I had though, so it might not have any problem there. It may not be able to handle Em5, but it should be able to run Emergency 4 fairly well. No guarantees, but that's my take on it.
  15. The editor isn't a separate executable file, just create a shortcut to the game, rename it to "Em4 Editor" (or whatever your preference may be), and append the text -editorto the very end of the shortcut's "Target:" property (after quotes as well).
  16. You could look into off-lease or refurbished laptops. I previously had a refurbished laptop (it was only because of battery clip, not a very bad thing at all). For example, here's an off-lease laptop that has a Radeon 6470M gpu (that fits your $500 budget): http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=9152163&srkey=1AS-102560108 My previous laptop had an Intel dual-core 2.1GHz cpu, 3GB RAM, and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 gpu. It ran Emergency 4 fairly well. Sometimes the particles/effects were too much for it (e.g. huge forest fires) but aside from that, it ran just about any mod I threw at it, even Manhattan mod (most of the time). The laptop I listed above has an Intel i5 2.5GHz cpu, 4GB RAM, and a Radeon HD 6470M gpu. It is, at the very least, as good as the one I had, if not marginally better as well. According to GPUBoss (http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-6470M-vs-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4330), the Radeon HD 6470M outperforms the HD 4330 I had, so technically you should be able to run Emergency 4/most (if not all) mods without too much trouble. Keep in mind it only has a 14" screen compared to the 15" screen on the one you listed originally (in case screen size matters to you, not that you couldn't technically hook up an external monitor if need be).
  17. Well, first you need to add a capture source. In this case, you'll have to use the "Game Capture" source instead of the other options for Emergency 4. 1. Right click the white area for the "Sources:" box and select "Add->Game Capture". 2. Type a name into the box that appears. 3. Select the "[Em4]" application from the drop-down menu on the next screen, leave the default values, and click 'OK'. 4. Now click "Settings->Settings" in the file menu bar. 5. Click "Broadcast Settings" in the left pane, then change the mode to "File Output Only". Set the file path to wherever you want the videos to be saved, and then setup the hotkeys as you prefer so you don't have to minimize the game to start/stop recording. Just some more tips: - If you run Emergency 4 as an administrator, you must run OBS as admin too, else it won't be able to do the game capture. - You only have to set where you want the videos to be saved once. It will automatically rename the new videos as you create them (e.g., "file.mp4", "file(01).mp4", "file(02).mp4", etc.) - If you change the OBS settings as per the guide I referenced in my previous post, keep in mind you will not only need decent hardware, but also a good amount of hard drive space, as it can/will eat it up for higher quality recordings.
  18. If you have Windows 7/8 or a Mac, you can try out Open Broadcaster Software (https://obsproject.com/), it's free and open source. I've used it for locally recording Emergency 4 on Windows 8. I had to turn up the quality and tweak a few other settings to get it to record without tears or video artifacts, but it works great for me now. Here's a guide I used (and can vouch for) that works pretty well for me: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.16/
  19. Here's a link to the Winter mod: http://www.emergency-downloads.com/downloads/Wintermod_0.4.e4mod And here's a link to an archived version of the list: https://web.archive.org/web/20131202104556/http://emergency-downloads.net/em4kompmod.html
  20. If you're having a "mod package is corrupted" error and you're pretty sure it's not due to a bad download, you can try fixing it by making sure the registry key is pointing to the right InstallDir. For example, open notepad, paste the text below into it, save it as "fix.reg" (no quotes), and then double-click the file to add/update the key to your registry. Change the "InstallDir" path to reflect where Emergency 4 is installed on your computer. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\sixteen tons entertainment\Emergency 4]"InstallDir"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\sixteen tons entertainment\\Emergency 4"
  21. You're correct (to an extent). I didn't even know y'all had posted here, hadn't received the email, so sorry about the (massive) delay. 64-bit operating systems will need the directory set as above. I will update my original post to reflect this. Edit: Had to emphasize the delay.
  22. Howdy y'all. I currently have a hamachi network running if anyone would like to connect and play a game. I'm okay with playing standard or mod, just whatever anyone else would like to do. Network name: E4MP Network password: e4
  23. I know it's not exactly an in-game suggestion, but I would really like to see Emergency 5 available on linux!
  24. I can vouch for this as well. Works fine on Windows 8.1 clean install.
