FDNY Box 259

Recommended Posts

At about 10:14 pm on April 11th, FDNY engines 9, 55, 15, ladder 6, tower ladder 18 and battalion 4 were dispatched for smoke in the area of Box 259 in Chinatown. Two hours later at approximately 12 am on the 12th, Chief of the Department Kilduff requested a 7th alarm assignment for the box with numerous special calls for apparatus. Just thought I'd put this up for all of you FDNY buffs to look at below are two links, one goes to a site that has a short video of the fire, and the other is transcript of the command channel at this fire.

good lord that is a lot of trucks and people for 2 buildings on fire. they use a lot o resources in new york lol. *thinks of volunteer departments were house fires are fought with 20 people*

A fully involved 6 story building with extensions into multiple exposures is a bit different than a 2 to 3 story house fire.

True. Its different when a tall building is engulfed and its directly next to or even connected to several other building just as high. Much more people to worry about too.
