  1. - no , usar units don't carry any diving / scuba gear because only a few usar members are dive rated but will respond to such calls as part of the usar / swr task force in a supporting technical role - the units you are mentioning on the fire boats are separately from the swr units .... they are the actual dive team with numerous specialized tasks - the swr units are usually dive / scuba rated and are deployed via the swr vehicle .... having said this , you have to keep in mind , that they are only some sort of backup dive unit and that their main function is swift water rescue
  2. there are multiple uses for - searching for hot spots within a large scale fire rather then sending in units to search for them - coordinating fire units more precise to hot spots to battle the fire more efficient - search for missing civilians and/or firefighters during a fire rather than a dangerous and time consuming room to room or area search - searching from air for hot spots during a forest fire and in combination with gps mapping a advanced planning and approach guidance can be given to ground units to say it short - a safer and faster way to battle fires because units can be send directly to the actual hot spots and a quick and live saving way for search and rescue during such an event
  3. I almost figured that this was kind off like the NYPD Transit Police over here but was not certain enough ..... a search referred often to " metrolink " and therefore I was unsure
  4. my following answer is only an assumption ..... because I do live on the east-coast , I was never able to see the vehicles you are referring to in real but I guess it's like that , that the Radio Cars are in a Dispatch Pool to cover all sorts of incident calls covering the whole LASD / LASO county area , while the other vehicles are usually confined to their designated area .... the right answer will be most likely only given by Mike !
  5. as far as I know is this only an old name for " radio mounted vehicles " ..... in some areas also called " radio motor patrol " ....... I guess its more or less just a name used since the days when first police cars were fitted with a radio for dispatch purpose , rather than send from the station by incident ....the name is more or less a leftover from the good old days ;-)
  6. about the return command to the station .... there are three scripts you will need to change, in order to get the spawning , return to the station and the staffing at the station -LAToFireStation -LAFireStation -LAFireStationStart about the ems staffing ...... this should give you the right units into the vehicle m.PushActionExecuteCommand(ACTION_NEWLIST, DUMMY_CALLCREW, Caller, 9, false); m.PushActionWait(ACTION_APPEND, 0.5f); m.PushActionExecuteCommand(ACTION_APPEND, DUMMY_CALLCREW, Caller, 1, false);

  9. thanks for your help so far ..... yeah he added virtual objects or at least I assume so, because the vehicles have the return to station command and so on. creating virtual objects and editing the map is nothing I did so far but I will have to look into it if I want these things changed.... so far I am only able to edit the scripts to exchange vehicles including the staff and all other related commands .
  10. I am not quite sure if this is as quick and easy as I think right now but most likely not ..... anyway if I don't ask I will never know . Currently I have LA Mod 2.0 installed ( with some upgrades : Patch , PRL , AUS , LED Pack ) and would like to get the two additional parking spots @ FS 2 like the ones in SG 1.9.3 submod only . Now is it as quick and easy to copy only parts of SG's mod in to the appropriate folders ? and if so what parts do I need to copy ? If this is not possible is there someone kind enough to eventually help me out with this ? thanks in advance

I don't get it either ..... download , extract and run .exe ..... easy as stealing a kids candy ... the missing door parts put me at a loss as well and the missing support truck too but the BatChief is there , the Dozer Tender Truck is there and the Bomb Squad too ..... even though that the Engineer van and the BatChief vehicles have no doors ... makes a nice quick going for getting in and out of the vehicle ;-)

  14. on the first page we see how the firefighters and paramedics are numbered so we know how to change the numbers in the script ..... but now I tryed to replace the BLS Ambulance ( LA Mod 1.9.3 SG ) at the rear parking lot with the Engineer Vehicle ....... now my questions 1 - can these guys be deployed from the FireStation ? 2 - does anybody know what number the Engineer got ? or where I am able to find this number .... thx

  17. no not in this mod ..... but problem already solved .... changed the FS Script according to the desired staffing of the vehicle ... thanks anyways for your help
  18. ok what do I have installed : LA Mod 2.0 + AUS PRL ( with needed files ) 1.9.3 submod everything works fine but I replaced the USAR withe the Large Rescue Ambulance ..... the vehicle works fine with all commands but it has no siren sound ( this one is the only one who does have no siren-sound ) never mind ....figured it out myself ..... I chnaged something in the LASiren and there it was ;-) but there is one other thing : how can I stop them from leaving the vehicle after returning to the station ?
  19. there got to be some other problems on his side , because I use the F5 in freeplay all the time and never had any crashes because of this
  20. by now I got somehow the hang of it .... or at least partial ;-) main problem seems for the most that they replace parts in the script which they should not replace .... here I can offer some assistance but you have to keep the following in mind most important part : make of the three scripts a backup first before you do anything 1st - I will send the scripts to hoppah and ask him for permission to post them here 2nd - the script is by now only partial complete - meaning : vehicle spawns at the desired FireStation , will be properly staffed at the initial spawning , can return to the station wit the gate commands . 3rd - the parts that are by now not working yet are : call out by BC , proper staffing by control panel alarm 4th - you still have to add in the EDITOR the command " return to firestation " what you have to do with this to get your vehicles in place of the HAZMAT and / or USAR : you have to replace only in the three script parts the names which will be picked up by the " find " command i.e. type LARGEAMBULANCE in the find menu and replace every hit with your desired vehicle ( you have to do this with the LaFireStation , LaToFireStation , LaFireStationStart scripts ) . if you follow this you can repeat this with Lightequipment and after this you should have at FS 1 and FS 2 your desired vehicles in place with the above mentioned limitations . I hope this will be of some help for the one or other person here . The BC Script is still not done but I will work on this ! I have to be quite honest here ..... there are still some parts in the script where I am not certain what exactly they trigger and how but I will keep on trying and working until I understand it to the full extend but I will not supply anything whats untested and buggy - so what I will supply ( if I am allowed to do so ) is tested and works within the promised scope .
  21. there is another possible way ..... if the situation got out of hand before I could response you have to do it the "medium rough way" send in two swat water cannons , the mass casualty unit and two swat vans ..... take them with the water cannons in a grid lock so they cant move away or expand to far , let the swat guys in the vans take a perimeter to make sure no one else gets to the scene ( send people away command or something like that but make sure they are not to close to the incident scene ) , by now the demonstrators keeps getting banged up by the water cannons and start to reduce the grid with every person falling down .... leave em for now there or your medics will get hurt .... if you push em further with the water cannons you get some room for medics who for start will only take them away to a doctor - so rush in , pick up and rush away and carry them to the doctor/paramedic ..... if the throw fire bombs call in a fire engine but only use the water cannon of the FE not the FF's to keep the fire at bay ..... this way you reduce the demonstrators one by one and you can clear the situation bit by bit ..... trust me it works .....
  22. i always got under shortcut#1 two black unmarked units staffed with swat officers and under shortcut#2 a regular patrol unit . - this is good for dispatching a quick response when rioters out and about or something like that ;-) but to get back to the point -usually I do it the swift way ..... dispatch the #1 units with the chase command to the leader with the sign and dispatch as well the #2 unit ..... when they are there they nab the guy and drag him right away to the waiting #2 unit .... as soon as he sits in the patrol car the rest of them will disperse - problem done ;-)

I guess my biggest problem is this , that I am not certain what position describes the " parking position within the FS " ....... if I assume right than they should be left for the pure matter of spawning with the original file name ( in this example the HAZMAT ) or am I wrong ? - now I got it working ... at least partial - now I got the LES based in Place of the HAZMAT acting as EMS , including the return to station command and gate open / close command - really odd is something else ..... now I wanted to replace the USAR at FS1 and did try that by now with different vehicles but always with the same result - when ever I place a new vehicle in there to replace the USAR than the FS1 is empty except for the foremost two Fire Engines and two ALS Ambulances - FS 2 is completely vacant .....I don't get it

I see - thx for your answer . to bad , because your map looks really good but the original vehicles of the game are crappy and boring and hoped that it could be used in conjunction with the LA Mod :-( I guess we cant have it all ... so I will need to find a way to get something nice out of this ;-) . Like I already said - a job well done .
