  1. Ah, okay. I wasn't aware that SOBR was post-soviet. Was curious if there would be special troops of the MVD for situations that may not require deployment of an Alpha Group. Soviet history's fascinating, awesome mod!

  2. This mod doesn't look like it has anything to do with the occupation of Germany. Theres nothing wrong with making a mod about soviet police/fire/medical. By the logic that it's wrong to make a mod involving the USSR because of political reasons there shouldn't be a LA mod because some cops there were accused of brutality. Magnus is being ridiculous. :tongue2:

  3. Minor thing I noticed with the lighting. In the NY Vehicle&Traffic law police cars can't have blue lights on the front. Emergency vehicles can only display red and white lights on the front and sides with amber lights also used on the rear. This applies to all fire vehicles, medical vehicles, and police vehicles with the exception that police may also use blue lights on the rear. Volunteer firemen responding in POVs can be authorized by their department to use a blue light in their car or a green light in the case of volunteer EMS.

    Looks real cool though :)

  4. Love this! I'm not really having any major bugs. The map has a little trouble, but easy enough to work around. Great job dude :holdglass:

The only bug I've noticed is the PAPD car is missing and the hose connections on engine 1 don't work. Also I thought I remembered mention of riot police before and I can't find any XD

    But seriously, awesome work!

  5. I think what he meant is it is just to big to be on a map if it was designed to be anything like the real thing

Yes, this. JFK is designed as a multi-terminal airport with 3 main runways they all connect to. Its one of the largest international airports in the country- but honestly not a whole lot going on that would be of amusement in EM4. Fires are extremely rare, the security is so intense that crimes not a real issue.

What would be more appropriate would be one of NYC's several heleports or a seaplane center. If you really want to be hell-bent on making an airport then Laguardia is just across the water from manhatten in uptown queens. JFK is on the far outskirts though and really wouldn't make a lot of sense to include in the mod.

  6. Yea, I was informed today (after this post) that even plan is to mainly go civil contract. My Contract is already up to atleast that the job imma get, or I should say Training. Anyway to be honest the only reason I am enlisting is so i Can get my ARFF

Haha, yeah. Only reason I enlisted was because NY departments waive a college degree for active military service.

Also I'm getting a lot of sweet accident reconstruction certifications out of this XP

  7. Actually im Getting ready to enlist in the reserves as an Army Fire fighter. I was informed that I most likely i would get deployed. But yes I will agree that most bases are Civil Contract now

I don't think active duty is even recruiting 12Ms right now. I can understand reserve and guard doing so, but active is almost all contracted in the states now as well as every FOB I've seen. There was an article a little while ago about how even the USAF firefighters in BIAP were handing over stuff to the Iraqis.

  8. I dont say woodland in the desert, I say the type of uniform and the equipament, I think these are ACU uniforms and I donĀ“t like the color, there are desert BDU with a diferent types of brown color. Now US Army uses ACU, but I prefer BDU and I like the woodland camo (First I think that the mod will be about the National Guard so I said woodland camo)

The national guard used ACUs as well. The BDU has been completely phased out and is no longer an authorized uniform IAW AR 670-1. The BDU is still authorized for the air force to personnel who haven't been issued ABUs. Because both the BDU and ABU are made of heavier material though, air force personnel on FOBs in Iraq frequently wear the ACU as well. Honestly its not a bad uniform. Soldiers walking around like turtles with 60lbs of gear aren't going to be able to hide anywhere period. The idea of the camo in this case is to break up your silhouette, not so much disguise you. The ACU pattern is pretty good at this, especially in urban areas (which is where its needed the most).
