  1. opened with word not wordpad and didnt get it

    Sorry for the delay on answering you... I was working the last days and my schedule doesnt let me see the forum....

    You just have to follow the steps i gave you, go to the folder and find the file... select it and right click on it.... look for the "open with" choice and select to open it with wordpad or notepad.

    With the spawn problem, maybe what you want to do is related with changing some mayor league scripts (that out of my knowledgue), but you could make them patrol the city adding them the "vcmd patrol" command thru the em4 editor.

    I recommend you to make a copy paste of the mod folder (changing the name of the folder, so it wont be any kind of trouble for you or for the game to recognize the mods folders) and begin to practice with the editor. With the patrol command follow the examples of the ambulance1 or the CV patrol cars.

    on specs folder look for freeplaybase.xml

    open it with wordpad or notepad; then look for this

  3. California IS on the border, but LA is quite a ways from that border. There are is border patrol in LA

    You may not live in the US, but you can use a computer... google/bing/yahoo/ask jeeves it

    I have made already some changes to the game, theres no problem with that to me... I have tried him to understand that i have google the issue and tried to understand as Non US person the roles of every kind of law enforcement.

    The problem to me is that i was trying to find and answer or help to a non spamming thing or maybe a serious thing to me, and found this kind of answer.

  4. You do realize LA is 2-3 hours from the Mexican border right? This would be more of a matter for ICE(Immigration and Customs Enforcement) not Border Patrol. This is why a few people were mentioning the border patrol units are probably the most useless addition to the LA Mod. Now had Voodo actually made the Federal Units Mod that he was planning, then it may have server a purpose.

    1. This is a game.

    2. If it is a game, you could do whatever you want..... If i want a 1000 floor building in the middle of the city i could put it that way.

    3. I am not a US living person (if you read my profile, you could notice that), so i dont know who makes what on US enforcement.

    4. If i am really "smart" to understant the words "Border Patrol", they are use to patrol a border... So if i want some peoples in "MY" copy of the game to cross the BORDER, so in my game theres a car, persons and units that says BORDER PATROL, ther can get them.

    5. If i remember and my teacher taught me well history and geography... California is on Border with Mexico....

  5. I believe you can do very basic missions in the editor alone, but if you mean free play events/mission, then no.

    Nope that would not work. How would the game know what the event was/meant? Technically if you were to be able to crack the game files and access the code you could reuse the code to give an existing event a new name but that would be pretty hard.

    Ok, because... as i said... i was messing up with your SubMod map... (the one with YSB updates) and added somethings like a marina, a C. Guard base, an Army Base, some scenario on the PD station related with a demonstration and a movement of a prisioner (non movement, only the units on the scene and a idea on my mind); something related with people trying to cross the Border (scenario stated under the LA bridge), a corner in the PD station with impounds cars; amount other things....

    All of this without any kind of scripting or movement.... Only scenarios to make more "beautiful" the map/game.:grinsevil::nixweiss:

  6. i think to answer question one, go into Specs/fp_freeplay_endless and change the "<MinDurationBetweenEvents value = "60.0" />" to a high value, to make mine more realistic so i can return everything to HQ without there being another event, i changed mine too "<MinDurationBetweenEvents value = "160.0" />",

    as for question 2, go into specs/fp_freeplay_endless once again, and find the following paragraph, which is under the <events> line,

    and it should look like this

    but if it doesnt, the thing you will probably need to cahnge is the <enabled value ="0" /> to <Enabled value = "1" />

    just read over what you wanted for question 1, as you didnt specify, if you want more events, then lower the value and that should work.

    If theres any way to add another event to the game; without any kind of scripting problem???? kind of making a copy paste of one event and changing the name... :holdglass::sorrysign:

    Upsss... Sorry... I began with NY map and change to the Xplorer map (with patch)... All this changes have been made to my personal consumption :smoke:... I have made the hellicopters units (all of them) patrol the city; but i am having a problem with something (the units began as land vehicles and then appear on the air; and when i send them to base, they stay for a moment and began patrolling again), maybe because i link them with the patrol car path.

    I have made a patrol path for the LAPP units without success. Buuuuuuuuuut, with the ropes command it was a 1000% success. The Army units are at 1000% too. I am adding a boat crash on the port side... Many smoke dudes... Maybe some of you could send me help on the meantime...:1046276057_GroupHug:

    I am trying to add a Border patrol base, so i want to add too the Border patrol or C.B.P. Blackhawk, but i am having trouble with the resking program (i cant open the model file), if someone knows how, give me signs of smoke...:help:

    Other thing, i will try to add (if i can) this other unit (if anyone knows its name, brand or anything); as it looks like the old Tec Hello from the Dummy Emergency game.

    Not really; but i was messing up with the map adding some stuff (a USCG base, a US Army base, making all the hellos to fly and patrol the city (maybe i can assit a hello crash somewhere :rolleyes: ) given the "ropes, ropes, ropes away" command to all the hellos, given the Army base the capabillity to be a prisionare camp, amount other things) and i saw it... Very interesting...

    Heyyyy, i have to be busy on the time you finish the S. Mod., doesnt I?:popcorn::cheers::loldev:

  9. I've been using the w00d map, small issue though, edited it to be more like NY adding FH etc, but my issue is: I havent got any events when I test the map in game? Anyone any idea why? I used to use this map when playing LA mod, and it ran fine.

  10. I agree, I don't have any skills to make mods so I am learning but I won't try to make one until I have at least the basics down.

    BTW the red cross doesn't have most of what you want to make, it has canteens, Emergency Response Vehicles which are mostly just SUV's with additional equipment, and Emergency Communications Response Vehicles which are large SUV's with radios built in and a mast on the back of the truck.

    Well... Let me say U.S. is the only National Society on America that doesnt have a Red Cross E.M.S. team... I am one of the Panamenian Red Cross officer in charge of Telecom. All the other national america societies have a veeeeeeeeeeeeeery strong E.M.S. team and are actually the most important emergency system on their countries. So, if this partner wants to make a Red Cross Submod, and its related to another country... Weeeeeellcome :gut:

  11. Which CV? And I'm sure it would work with Wood's maps. In mine all CV's can chase... I'll look into that. Thanks for the heads up.

    Another thing... The PD crew comes out of Firehouse 1 when the game begins. Is that your idea or a bug? Do you include a "ropes, ropes, ropes away" command for the EPPD chopper? (it will be really usefull to the sniper guy on kidnapping situacion or for the robbery.

  12. Basically UV Mapping, and file conversion, so that I can have my own unit in the mod and thus not have to worry about who else's stuff there is, they just haven't approved it yet as I can still go look at it.

    I have about 10 units that I could use, I just don't know how to map textures.

    or a mapped model donation that is not Hoppahs, so I can reskin it.

    Good job... Amazing thing... But... I have to report a bug, that maybe its me or i dont know... The CV´s doesnt have the "chase" command... Another thing... Does it works with Wood´s maps?

    I get this also with the patch

    On the FF only sometimes they run off.

    Plus that... I have found that i cant buy some of the police cars (having more than $5.000.000 on my pocket). There are empty spaces for those units (89 of 100 empty), so the spaces arent the problem.

  14. Bugs I found with the patch:

    -Can't buy police cars

    -When ems patrols the city the car get caught at the construction near the top of the map.

    -EMT's w/ stretch can not pick people up.

    -When I tell firefighters to hook up to the truck, they exit the truck, grab their hose and seem to run to the nearest fire station.

    If anyone could confirm these bugs it would be nice.

  15. ok, in freeplay (endless) i got a mission for a barricaded suspect. i called for a getaway car and while i was busy putting the spike strips around the car the suspect came out and began shooting my swat officer. i sent my swat oficer in the car immideatly and drove the car out of range. the suspect got in the car and drove away. i pursuited him and the getaway stopped... and thats the point... it doesnt move i cant shoot it, the suspect will not get out (i wouldnt either if i was him) is this bug or am i doing something wrong?

    srry for bad english im dutch :P

    Wel... I think this isnt a bug... I have noticed that when the PD´s car get on the back of the suspect´s car is when it comes out of it an begin shooting or sometimes running to scape.

    And I agree it looks more european, IMO caprice's and Crown Vic's are the heart and soul of any US police force it's a shame they're being pushed out :(

    They said on the promo presentation vid, that they will continue somehow making the CVs; but this new car is better on economy (gas eco), security (more bullets resistant doors) and has more equipment on both versions (sedan and utility (SUV))... Personally this model remembers me the car used on Robocop or something (appeareance, not the model)... :prop:

I believe and I hope site Admin doesn't beat me up over this, if a person does not respond to a request made about a mod they made for at lease 30 days, site Admin could reassign and or grant other users permission to use their mod to anyone who is willing to take it over/improve. I've noticed that a lot of people start mods and never finish them, this will also be a way sit Admin could free up the clutter that is on this site. Site Admin could name it the Mod Abandonment clause or something to that effect. Just my two cents.

  18. It's actually the ford fusion, apparently it is going to be replacing the crown vic, as it did to the caprice.

    Yeah.. But the thing i dont know if its true or not... But theres a rumor over the internet passages that FORD is performing a now "prototype" for U.S. PD´s... Maybe its this one... who nows... :1046275767_ugly:
