  1. you should make a new event and truck where the power lines dont work and have to send a utility truck out like this

It's not as easy as you think to do something like that. Thats already been discussed in another topic. A truck like that would have to have a static script, you couldn't move it. Something like that isn't good.

And whats with the switch. I liked the DC banner... I'd much rather work on an engine than a ladder right now. The ladder's slightly more complex than i thought. I was almost done with it, but I deleted it, cause i lost track of where i was. And my girlfriend's been trying to mess with it. lolz. And work gets in the way sometimes. If you can though, or if you want me to work on something else, send me a few pictures of it, cause what I did was just based on what i know through the lafd about trucks. So i'm not even 100% sure i had the back of it right anyways. Anyways, i'll work on anything you want me to, i'm just more partial to engines.

  2. Well, I can get the audio portions of the video changed (thus far) but cannot seem to change the video. Understand too, that I am using Premiere Elements (v7)which allows you to manipulate video and audio. But the video portion is a little trickier - maybe some combination of formats I can't quite comprehend.

As for the audio, it seems that in Premiere Elements 7, the preset titled "MPEG 2 Multimedia Compatible" gets the audio done. IF you dont have Premiere Elements, you may need to change your settings manually this way:

    Audio: Convert to MPEG2

    - Framesize doesnt matter

    - framerate 25

    - audio layer MPEG 1, Layer II

If someone can figure out what the video properties are, that may help.

Nice job changing the audio, I don't know a work around for the video, I don't have time to mess with it. Do you know where the video files are? cause if you do, can't you just take a video, and throw it in with the same format and name? Cause I don't think it can be a mix of formats for the video. I'm just guessing, sorry. I'll come up with something, and if I do, i'll let you know.

  3. I really like hoppah's work. I've just started working with zmodeler, and it is alot of work. I'm definately amazed by what he's done in such a short time, and no. i'm not asking for a release date, but I can't wait till it's released. It looks like its coming together very well, even though the tiller sounds like it has quite a few bugs right now.

This was edited; sorry newfoundking T-T forgive me

  4. Guys, please do me and I'm sure the entire LA mod team a favour. If you want to talk about patient numbers for ambulances, make a topic, debate it there. Hoppah has stated many a time, as for now, it'll stay 1 patient, and if you wanna change it then go ahead.

    Thanks,

    Newfoundking

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is gonna be awesome upon release!

  5. yeah, see the thing is though, it's hardcoded, where as in that game, it was coded the other way around...

If its hardcoded, how did winterburg and the NY mod get around it? o.O maybe there's something being missed, to make it possible to have a water supply. Anyways, if you decide you wanna do something with a limit on the supply, you should make it so you could see how much you have on the reserve. it usually only lasts for a little bit though. A good... 3-4min on reserve? that a decent ammount of time at 120-130 gpm? lolz, on a hose alone. if you get a 2nd line going, your out of luck without a reserve line and a hydrant.

  6. I know that LA hospitals usually contract out to ambulance companies such as AMR to transfer patients from hospital to hospital, or hospital to nursing homes. I thinki AMR lost their contract so i'm not sure what ambulance company does it now. I know I hated IFT (inter facility transports) calls when I worked at AMR, and I'm not sure it would be the most fun missions, but it is an idea.

As for the multipatient ambulances, here in southern California we can take 2 patients to the hospital at once in one ambulance. BUT they have to be very minor, to the fact that we are pretty much just observing them. Usually they are from TC's that are minor fender benders. I have transported like this a few times. but it takes up both the gurney and the bench seat so it starts to get cramped in the ambulance. We used to be able to hang a third patient on a backboard from the ceiling and side wall, but that is not allowed in CA any more. Since we are in a state with the one of the highest law suit rates with a lot of sue happy people, we have to be very careful how we transport and treat our patients. So I guess if you were able to script it some how to say you can only transport to slightly injured patients, it would be realistic. Like how BLS units can't treat severely injured people. I think this would take time if even possible to do.

I hoped that helped in answering that question.

As far as I know, AMR has lost it with a few of the hospitals, but not all, cause Kaiser Permanente in Culver City still uses AMR as far as i know. Where do you work, by the way, cause L.A City Fire only transports 1 person at a time. I've never seen any ambulance transport more than 1. By transporting more than 1, you increase chance of infection. The single patient in the back is plenty, cause really, box buses are used for the Critical Care. I think Hoppah has it great, I don't think there's anything that needs to be changed with the ambulances.

I've also been talking with guys from engine and truck 37, if your farmiliar.

  7. * Dispatch Policy*

When the game loads up all personal reports to their designated vehicles (FF's to the fire truck, and paramedics to the ambulance). As, the game progresses, and I send units out returning units report back to the fire house. I do no sound the alarm to refill all vehicles in the station, instead I hot key the Battalion Chief, and an alarm is sounded for each specific unit (if on isn't ready).

Unfortunately, sometimes a fire truck will leave with 3 out of 4 fire fighters. When my Battalion Chief sounds an alarm for a fire truck, the fire trucks lights come on, and fire fighters report to the engine. Then, (sometimes) 3 of the 4 fire fighters will be on board, while the 4th one is heading towards the truck it will leave. Thus leaving one fire fighter stranded, other times the 4th fire fighter will open the door (not being on all the way) and the engine will leave. The game (obviously) recognizes this as all fire fighters on board (and while this is fine), in real life the engine is not allowed to leave if a fire fighter has the door open getting on board. This indeed as annoying, especially when you arrive to a fire with 3 units, and find 1 standing in the bay alone. I don't believe this is a bug, rather the game mistaking the engine being full when it is not.

    And ...

I was just wondering if this minor issue will be fixed in 1.9

To be truely honest with you, cause it doesn't sound like you know alot, but guys do get left at the station sometimes. cause they move too slow :) there's always situations like that. If you have to respond to a medical, you don't have time to wait till' everyone's onboard, cause that person could die while your responding o.O and thats why the LAFD makes all firefighters EMT/PARAMEDICS, and they actually won't accept you without a Paramedic license. We can't all sit around and die while 3 FF's are on board, and their waiting for the 4th, who just got started putting on bunker gear...

The truck is on a timer. It doesen't matter how many units are in the truck before it leaves. As soon as the timer is up the truck leaves regardless of the number of people on it. It sounds like the timer should be increased slightly.

I've never had problems. I think the timers fine. There's probably a way to increase it if you want to, but I wouldn't reccomend it.

anyways, great job so far, and maybe it'll come out on my birthday :) that would be funny XD

  8. I'm not trying to hijack and more info is given about the mod on the temporary homepage on my hated website that I made 5 years ago and haven't touched till 5 mins earlyer while making the homepage. All I need to know is how to make the vehicles and crews of people look different than the origanal game's characters.

make your own thread still o.O your still hijacking

  9. me two i wish you my best, also i heard that californa has used 109 million out of there 155 million dollar forest fire buget but FEMA can pay back 75% or somthing like that

Thanks, FEMA is going to pay back, cause we're still in the first few months of fire season, and still have through november to go. It wouldn't be realistic to carry more than 1 patient. The only time i've seen more than 1 "patient" is in the back of a coroner's van o.O back to the topic, this mod's gonna be awesome!

  10. Ricardo Says what i meant:

uhm,,. have you ever seen a walking dieing person;)

There's no point of adding it to the ambulance.

But Hoppah. i've got a new suggestion:

Add a command, that police ESCORT the ambulance to the hospital, or ESCORT a other policecar with criminals to the police station, also that they can ESCORT important persons (Like add an event like: 'Escort the president safely through the city, he arrives in 2 minutes.'

    Or something...

It would add to the realism, but you'd actually not want to add follow EMS to hospital to police, only on certain occasions do we do that. We follow paramedics for critical patients, because we had a situation just the other day, where we were following in the engine, and the patient went into cardiac arrest, and we had to stop, and jump in the back of the bus to assist recussitate the patient. thats realism.. o.O any steps torwards realism is cool, like if for the LA mod you could hook the engines up to standpipes or hydrants. That'd be a nice feature, because, also, on most fire calls we hook into the city's water supply. The only time i don't see hooking into hydrants is fighting the wildfires right now. I feel bad for the LA county guys. Best of luck to them. If you know about the California wildfires, my heart goes out to the 2 county firefighters and their families.

BTW, hoppah, i've loved your work since i discovered this amazing site over a year ago. Your my Modding hero! :D
