  1. Looks so damn good! As far as events, what if you had a hit and run where you had to deal with the MVC and at the same time apprehend the assailant in their vehicle using the same type of fleeing vehicle that is in the LA Mod. Or, and this is probably way to complex, what if you got word that MHP or the Sheriff's dept was in a pursuit and coming straight towards Monida Pass. You would have to send PD units to the highway or whatever the road is that the call said and make a road block with stop-sticks as well as do traffic control and pedestrian control to limit bystander casualties. Another good PD call could be a burglary/home invasoin, if there is a residential area on the map with a few houses. Possibly have a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area (Maybe one of itchboy's vans), send PD to the area and have them use the questioning command to ask vehicles about their business in the area. if you don't find the vehicle in time a perp breaks into a house and maybe takes the homeowner hostage.



    How about a welfare check? Have PD do a welfare check on a subject in a house and find him either dead, injured or healthy.
    Or a suicidal person (armed with a handgun) that needs to be taken into custody.
    Perhaps a poaching incident? This was discussed on the Ravenna mod topic, have it be like attempted murder in the Montana mod but have a dead deer and the person running away with a rifle, this would be good if you have a Montana Game Warden unit already.
    Plane crash: Like a car crash you would have to do extrication on it (likley dead) and possibly extinguish a small plane that crashes somewhere in the woods.
    Domestic Violence, like the fight but inside a house and take both people to jail.
    Drug deal, as soon as cops show up 2 people take off running and you have to catch them both.

    EMS calls with different names, since all EMS calls are pretty much the same in the mod (stabilize person, transport) maybe mix up what the dispatch says just for the sake of realism. Things like: Electrical shock, snake bite, heat stroke, broken arm, unknown, mental health emergency, headache, lacerations to chest, unresponsive person etc.

    Just my ideas, hope they help.

    And possibly have things change once EMS gets on scene, like for example if you get dispatched to a Mental Health call the person runs from or tries to fight EMS. You would have to have PD handle the situation as well.
  2. anyone else having trouble with the civilians on the map? after about ten minutes my units can barley get anywhere without getting stuck, anyone know whats going on?

    Just arrest the like 5 that wonder into the street when they start causing problems. That usually fixes it for me.

  3. Yeah a tanker would be cool, most FD tankers are custom built but if you make something like this people could do nice FD variations of it.

    Yeah that's a great idea!  I've seen FD tenders like this before actually, not in my area most here are dry sides that are custom built but that thing is still beastly!

  4. if you need any pictures or info on any rigs for fd i have plenty if knowlage in them and I'm working my way to modeling them myself thanks to MikeyPI

     

    The only thing keeping me from doing this is my lack of knowledge in US fire trucks. Apart from that, time is also a factor.

    I am also pretty knowledgeable when it comes to apparatus and would love to help you out with reference pics, advice and ideas.  Your work is absolutely amazing and some of the commercial trucks you've made, especially that International cab model is just begging to be made into an awesome piece of apparatus!

Hey guys, just thought I'd show off something I made with Itchboy's Caprice.  Its the new LA World Airports Police Chevy Caprice.  This is not the final version seeing as they use a FedSig Vector and this has an Arjent for now but it still looks pretty cool in my opinion.  The Arjent lighting was not done by me, nor are any of the parts of this model my own creation.

  6. Well...I'll admit some of that is my fault. I never really put any contours on the textures or shading parts in any of my models. It was done intentionally so that people using Paint.net could easilly modify the texture. The method has its drawbacks unfortunately.

    Personally I think its not that big of a deal considering.  I mean this is a RTS when it gets down to it and the rest of the game elements aren't of incredible detail anyway so I don't expect the models to be these amazing, high poly, stunning vehicles.  Itchboy, your work is awesome and I appreciate you thinking of people doing reskins when you textured the models, I know it has helped me a considerable amount.

  7. I don't like the re skins at all, they look very simple and bad.

    There is a lot better way of providing constructive criticism than just saying it's bad.  THVFD and the others members of this mod are working hard to bring you new content.  If you don't like it, that's fine. Also, how is the Ambu skin simple?  And most emergency vehicles are "simple" as you put it,usually one color with a stripe of a contrasting color and some door badges/lettering for identification... So I don't really understand what you mean....

  8. The model has to be from the original game's folder OR in the mod that you are intending to edit's folder, copy the files that you want in your mod from the mod that it is in, into the mod folder for the montana mod's folder.  That should stop the crashing that you are experiencing.

    I attached a photo of the file locations, is that not correct? Itchboy?  Also how do I provide a log file?  Thanks

Hey guys.  So I just started having a extremely annoying issue with the Editor.  I was replacing a model in Montana mod when this started happening.  My goal was to make the 2006 Impala be a new Caprice so I went into the prototype and changed the base model on the first window from the Impala model to the Caprice model which is in a different models folder.  Clicked OK and placed another Caprice/Impala on the editor "Map" and it was great, the model spawned and look totally fine.  However, I went to edit the children to put on the doors, trunk, etc and I CTD.  I loaded the editor again, loaded Montana mod, clicked on edit children for the Caprice and I CTD again.  Any Ideas?  Thanks

I had the same issue.  In my post about this it was suggested that i needed to go to the properties of each video in the supervisor file and then unlock it and make sure it wasn't read only.  However, every time I would click unlock, apply then OK but then go back and check it was locked again.  So my supervisor is still silent in every mod EXCEPT Manhattan mod which is bizarre! Still don't know how that is happening.  Anyway if you find a fix let us know so others with the same issue can get it resolved.  Good luck.

    Yeah that's not good haha.  Here I think it's just because there is so many of us that its easier to not have your gear at the station while you're not.  Were a combination dept and with the two combined have over 50 firefighters, even with the locker room we have I still don't think we would have enough room for everyone's gear.  (Sorry for going off topic Bama)

  12. the ambulance is about 75% done after i get this first one done the others will be done in a matter of minutes

     

    i'm not going to be working on the mod for a lil while my grandmother is in the hospital her artery right next to her heart disected while on the operating table and shes still in the hospital bc of it so i'm at the hospital for the majority of the day

    Sorry to hear that, hope shes recovers quickly
