NM, I found and fixed the problem, great mod!
Edit: Now that I got them to work, they are awesome.... however theyre crashing my game. For a vehicle collision with entrapment, I send a medic engine, rescue truck (USAR) and ambulance. Once I do, it freezes the game and the only way to continue anything is to hard reboot my computer. Solutions?
Download audio codecs.

I love the preview, but when I put the sirens in the correct folder, there is NO change from in game sounds. I even tried changing the names, still no effect. Help?
Put Siren01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and 06 in the '\Mods\Los Angeles Mod v2.0\Audio\Fx\sirens' folder.
Put the station alarm and the fire engine start in '\Mods\Los Angeles Mod v2.0\Audio\Fx\misc' folder.
Hope this helps.

Will this work with 2.0? i've had some past problems with modifying sirens in 2.0.
This modification would work with any version of LA. It only replaces the audio, not any prototypes.

Mintcake69, please respond to my PM, thanks.

Very nice, although the lights would look better if they were the right size and style.
Great job.

We have already settled this argument on MSN, so if you don't mind keeping out of it.

Refusing to share the files to the people involved in the mod isn't exactly the best thing to do.
-
Not quite.. But for anyone who is interested in joining this mod, make sure you have a lot of patience, Liam can be an asshole at times.

Conroy Has Quit The Team. Ill be doing the light as before.
I like that fact that you didn't state why I left.

When are you going to fix the Siren01 bug or are you going to fix it?
You could easily fix it. Open it in any audio/video and save it as .wav.

Looks nice. I suggest using Google's 3D Building Maker. You get the adress and start building there. Its way easier then using just plain Sketchup, and i have made most of my fire stations by using that it.
Are you still interested in becoming a skinner?

I actually do not know when the engine start noise is used in the mod. Obviously it would be used when the engine starts up, but there is no noise.
I know what you mean, maybe it is a missing script.

That's my old account.
Anyway, where is this mod based? Is it all over scotland? I could do some central units, I know more of them.
I will do some research on youtube for different areas and look at their patterns.
Thanks,
-Conroy.

I would be willing to edit the lights on this modification. Since Scotland is my country, I know what patterns are involved.
Let me know, thanks.

Possibly your audio codecs, try download a newer version because if I can remember correctly, I saved Siren01 in another program.
If this still doesn't work, I'll re-save the audio in a different program and send it to you.

Stilll does not work, i know how to install them but they dont work for me?
What operating system are you using?

Conroy, I downloaded your submod and I have to say, excellent work. It adds alot of realism to the game and it is a wonderful addition. Good job, and thank you
Thank you.

yea, same problem here. i get one 28mb .rar file. hmmm...
Open the .rar with WinRAR and extract it into the LA Mod directory.

Thank you for your input.
As you may know, I started working on Project Reality Lights half way through this project. The BETA, which included 01, 03, and 05 was the sirens I put a lot of time and effort into.
I put more effort into the light mod during the creation of the other half, and I'm currently unsure if I will continue to run this mod or not.
Making lights is a lot more exciting than looking at sound waves, but I guess someone has to do it.
Thanks,
-Conroy.

Sorry about that, the download link is now fixed and updated.

Sorry for double post.
Siren Modificiation V1.0 released.

Hmm.. the audio files are in the correct format so I am currently unsure why they aren't playing.
If you go into the siren folder (\Audio\Fx\sirens), can you play Siren01 and Siren02 through your media player?
If you can then it will be the format that is effecting them playing in game. If you can't then the file is corrupt.
I will try and get this bug fixed for the V1.0 release.
Thanks for letting us know!

You can play all the sounds through windows media player. Just simply open fire_alarm.wav in the resources/misc folder.
Siren Modification V1.0
in Submods [Not released]

I don't know the exact codec but it will have to support .wav files.
All sirens used in this modification are real sirens, I don't have a video on that siren, C.F.D created it, he might send you a link if you are still interested.
The files used in this modification are 100% audio files. I scanned this with Avast and there is no viruses.
