  1. Actually... Our 'trauma' centers are not really for major things... Mostly basic stitches and stuff. One story... small building that they keep ambluances at in the middle of the town since 2 of the 3 major ER's are in weird locations. ALS goes to the big place and BLS goes to the small place.
  2. If you're talking about on the new 1.9 map... I don't think you could really add more than 2 additional stations. And LAPP with a single car in a tiny building with an on-ing or something out of the way might be neat.. Then a two car LASD stations that is also used as a jail to actually drop off people and not the police station somewhere far south... But other than that I think it would be just be pointless. I'm interested to know if a trauma center would be logical. Instead of having the BLS drop off at the main hospital if they could be set to drop off at a trauma center.
  3. For the SWAT portion.. I'm not sure how it's done in California... But here in Texas, SWAT is normally run by the Sheriffs Department... When you have a functional working building... Will it be able to call SWAT plus LASD? Like the car, van and hummer is it?
  4. Yes, I very much want to see this. I've been wanting to reskin things... but have not gotten farther than ETMC ambulance. I need to figure out how to move around the lights on it since the NY lights flash at different locations. I want to do Smith County Sheriffs Office, Tyler Fire Department, Tyler Police and TISD Police, Department of Public Safety (Since we have a hub here), Whitehouse FD and Police, ETMC for ALS and Trinity Mother Frances as BLS. It will be really nice to be able to play in my own city and surrounding area. It would be nice if Hoppah would make a section to where we could share .dds files. But he seems to be picky about reskins...
  5. I've tried with the latter truck and it's done nothing. They won't seem to go in the building. So you can remove the gates with the ff?

    2.0?

You lie! We shall never be satisfied! As soon as its released we're waiting for the next version! We are gamers after all! I am interested in what defines a 2.0 I really think this should have been renamed 2.0 since it's such a massive change. I think he needs to make this 2.2 (with patches). and not 1.9-2.
  7. Yo! Have you made any progress with this (and getting your editor to work)? I began to re-skin some of my vehicles for here in Texas. Primarily East Texas and Smith country. It would be rather awesome if the city you created had more of Texas feel to it. IE: Police station saying something along the lines of "Texas Department of Public Safety" and our wonderful flag being tossed in and not the ones with LA MOD. Be kind of nice for us who want to have our own little private mods.
  8. I've found some fun issues with this map... It would be nice to see some people start contributing to them. I always modify my own maps with what little I know how to do. This is an awesome map with very few pathing errors in general and some really neat streets. Pathing: 1: While facing North... Just left of Fire station 2 there is a major pathing error on that road going south. It really sucks when you're trying to send something to respond quickly to it and they get stuck in an epic loop of going back and forth to the end of the road and around. 2: 3x2 highway. When going from South to North cars tend to cut through and go on the wrong side of the road through the 'on-ramp' turn lane. They'll also tend to do a zig-zag and not a smooth transition. 3: Vehicles tend to fail when doing a patrol if they're not already on a road and in the lane. If you send an ambulance straight from the firestation onto a patrol it tends to follow the walk ways and get stuck. This happens for police as well. 4: Battalion Chief Backwards? I've noticed he's backwards? I had all the other enginges backwards too but I downloaded the modified version and that fixed all but him. Is this an issue just with mine? Furthermore... there is the occasional issue with engines pulling into station 1 and not going in the right way.. like entering through the front path and not going down the special road for them. Missions: 1: Suicide! In the North-West part of the map... a guy tries to commit suicide but you're unable to save him due to the position of a street light. It seems the inflatable pad won't... well... inflate. So I just sit there and wait for him to die. Kind of awful, eh? 2: Suicide... again! Down southwestish a guy tries to kill himself and you can't save him due to a bike and I guess a wall being in the way. I've not figured out the exact problem with this. 3: Near the construction zone (where the building roof caved in and the crane is working on it south of Fire station 2 ) is where a heartattack happens for a guy inside the building. Now the only way to get to him is with the latter truck but this becomes an EPIC pathing error. You have to use the bulldozer to get into the area but on one way it tends to cause issues due to the position of the fallen building. This is not a major one but could be looked at. Weird Errors 1: Helicopters can't return to base. Why is that? Possiable Modifications for Future: More logic as to where off site vehicles enter from. I'm not too sure if this is possible but have Forrest come from the north and an expansion upon of the police station to keep a few police cars, swat/fbi truck and the alike similar to how it is done with Fire/EMS and not just a parking zone. I'd also really like the ability to park a coroners van at the hospital.
  9. I figured I'd hold off till I got a couple done and not just make a thread with one picture?
  10. -claps.- Nice to see a Texas mod. I'm working on a reskin for my home city of Tyler ( which is two hours from the DFW area ). So far I have a ETMC Ambulance.. and... well very little of the TISD Police. Nice to know I'm not the only one from Texas! -waves his Burnet flag.-
  11. @MikeyPI. Yes, I understand what you're saying but the theory behind it is that the blog would be incorporated into this site and have the information out first. While yes, you can look at each mods thread and search through millions of mindless posts about "when is this going to be release?!?!11one11". As new features come out and "presents" are given, the community would report and make it a bit more simple for the masses keep up with. While this may seem slightly redundant, in essence it makes it easy and provides more notability for some of those add-ons that make slow progress. There are many things that can be reported on in terms of the overall game. Weekly tid-bits involving simple modification guides and the alike. I'm not saying blog about ones life, I'm talking more in the context of how many companies do. Web hosting groups tend to release new features they're planning, announce specific upgrades, etc, etc. And while we're not the company who publishes the game, the community here is big enough to improve on a "fan-site" much more than just a forum. The tutorials section was a good start at moving forward, and the forum contains many tutorials but you have to sort through hours of reading and countless pages just to find one thing. The search function begins to fail one so many articles contain the same keywords, yet hosts useless information. Do you know how many pointless pages come up when you want to learn how to put a new engine in fire station 2 on a modified map? I think you're looking at it more from the point of view of high-quality literary blogging. The goal is to cut done and simply the information directly in a easy to read location. Integrate the blogging with the forum and you have people coming here to find the information they want and being directed to the correct location. Less clutter in searching and more "here is what I want and how do it." I think you fail to see the general point of it. There is plenty of information contained in the forums. It simply needs to be organized for ease of use. Please express other concerns besides just lack of poetic content. @Mav1701 (Edited) You bring up a good point in terms of "front page" but it is all about how you incorporate them. I work for a company online where everything is handled at the forum. Tech support, questions about modifications to service, business tips and advice etc, etc and a small group of us have been working to create off-site resources. But that's where the problem lies, not incorporating a site with the forum. Of course with blogs like WordPress you can add a built-in forum to the blog, but this is of course no an option for this site. Proper "cross" promoting of the forum and blog together would bridge the gap. What I'm say is not impossible to achieve. If you make the front page look nothing like the forum, and don't ingrate them, you're of course going to make one more popular than the other. Now understand, a blog is just one idea. It functions a bit better than a magazine because seriously, a blog is the new digital magazine. Even newspapers are using them. -SirMoo-
  12. Are you serious about the loading times? Or just an over use of sarcasm...
  13. As fun as it sounds, I think a blog of the sorts would be more entertaining. If you have about 10 or so trusted writers who can post updates on mods, neat game-play enhancements, as well as information regarding future version of Emergency (6, 7, 99+!) a fun community can be created around it. Yank those who own the site together and create a community of people with writing experience and create a site dedicated to all things emergency, yes, there is a forum and CMS already here, but the content is so limited and the forum tends to be hard to search. If you have enough people to post maybe one neat article every-other-day, it might improve the functionality of the core community and bring a bit more life back to the game as a whole. Magazines don't allow for comments and they require lots of more work than a multi-member blogging group located right here. Though a magazine would be fun, an integrated blogging system might be your best bet. I've learn from another site that I'm apart of (non-emergency related) that when people volunteer for a magazine, they usually don't end up working on it and leave it all to the person who started it. On grounds of copyright, in the United States you can't really copyright a word. A logo yes, but you trademark the word, but not if that word is an everyday thing. But even with copyright, if you study it, you learn ways to "legally violate it". To go into this further, I'd put Hoppahs mod at risk of having everyone distributing their own versions and I of course don't want him mad at me. D= But if done in the proper way, using names like such, images, and other bits of pieces, you can use such material... How ever, when possible, it's best to just say please, especially when such people/companies are easy to contact.
  14. Destroy Input... Destroy Scriptscheduler... Destroy Timer... Destroy Screen... Destroy UpdateChain... Destroy Console... Destroy Filesystem... Well that does not look good. o.O Did you acquire a bad mod?
