  1. Hey everyone, as i'm sure someone has had the same problem, I can't seem to find a thread about it through the search function... I have been editing some of my scripts with different changes. I've added a military base and Harbour station. As well as switched out the USAR in station one for a Heavy Rescue Crane, as well as added a HES and Brush to the parking lot. Also, in station 2, I've switched out the Hazmat truck for a USAR Squad. However, the problem is, my ALS from station two WILL NOT return back to base... It says something like "No space at Fire Station, vehicle returns to base!" There is no room at station 1, but the ALS spot at station 2 is empty, so i'm not sure what's wrong... I didn't edit any of the engine portions of the LAtoFireStation script, but maybe something happened? Can anybody take a look and possibly shed some light on how to fix this? I've uploaded the script. Thanks! P.S. If anybody has the ORIGINAL LAFireStation, LAtoFireStation and LAFireStationStart scripts, could you please upload them? or send them to me? Thanks again
  2. How did you change your scripts? I tried to do that, but lets just say I screwed up... I have a few units at a harbour station near the docks. I can't get the units to return to their parking space... what parts did you change? and what scripts?
  3. Yeah, this is part of the game. I'm sure many people use this function. I myself use it for more "minor" police calls, however sometimes it doens't work and they end up shooting the suspect... -_-'
  4. Oh yeah, I knew that. I was actually referring to parking in the front. Never knew he was talking about parking it in the back.
  5. Not sure... I don't think so though. Try experimenting with different numbers like 8 and 9? You can always just call them with the control panel and put them in the trucks.
  6. Yeah. I don't have alot of knowledge of LA, but you can ask MikesPhotos about it. I never knew they had a devoted SWAT Station... I'm not sure if it affects online play... I know if you changes the scripts, the other players HAVE TO have the same scripts as you though.
  7. You can place them in the editor. Load the mod and map, then you just go under the edit tab, or press F5. Then you just click new and add the VOs anywhere on the map. From there, you would name each VO with a unique name, and then you would change the scripts to add those VOs into the game. The VOs can act as barriers or parking spots I believe, with a few other functions. Right now I'm trying to get these to work. I just haven't had time yet. I might be done in the next couple of days, so I'll post here to see if I can get the VOs to work.
  8. As it's been said over and over again, please refrain from giving new suggestions/ideas. Warnings can result from them. However, it's really easy to make the bomb squad and FBI and even SWAT Trucks to park at the police station. Some believe that it is unrealistic (and they are right) because these units are called from the main HQ building, most of the time, they are not stationed at smaller police stations, they are called from HQ when they are needed. But anyways, you don't even need to change any scripts. Just go into the Editor and add the "Go To Police Station" button for each vehicle. Just load the mod on the editor, go into edit commands (for that vehicle) and add the vcmdtopolicestation (I think that's what it's called) to the vehicle's commands.
  9. So. There is progress! However, I am having trouble with scripting the vehicles so that they return to their respective spots. Below are screenshots of the VOs that I have put in for the Military Base and the Harbour Station. The problem is, I'm not sure how to create/modify the scripts to allow the vehicles to return to their spots. If someone is able to explain that to me, or help me with it, I would GREATLY appreciate it. I can give you the names of each VO if it is needed, and if you are able to help me, Please post on this thread or drop me a PM! Thanks!

  11. Hey, those look nice! You have a few changes exactly where I placed them xD Just take a look at my thread under the Alterations tab. I also put an equipment trailer at FS2, but I don't really need it anymore ever since I moved a USAR into that station. I was also planning on making a technical base, but I want to get my military base and Harbour station working first. In addition I have put various CHP Chargers around the outside of the map (except the SE, where I have Port Police). I just call them and put them there on stand-by, no real need for it in the editor. Good luck! Keep up the good work.
  12. For now i'm doing that, and sometimes they go in with no problem at all, however most of the time, you need to try numerous times... and even then you are lucky if they go in.
  13. There isn't anything under the DATA folder and above the atari file? Hmm... that's odd. are you sure you followed the exact path I stated? going into your C drive, then program files? Try downloading the Mod again? I know that isn't the solution for everything, but maybe it was somehow deleted?
  14. Wizardworks or Sixteentons --> 911:First Responders or Emergency 4 --> Mods --> Los Angeles Mod 1.8 --> Scripts --> Game --> Command The files should be under the the Command folder. You'll probably need to edit the LAFireStationStart, LAFireStation and LAtoFireStation scripts.
  15. Yeah, I agree with a few of the others. I have never used the LAX Ambulance or LA Airport Police before and I only have the LAX Crash Tender parked at the military base I made (never used though). So I wouldn't mind seeing them put as a submod, especially if they decrease the loading time of the mod and game. However, I wouldn't want to see the Port Police go. I use 2 of them in the Port/Industrial district near the SE side of the original map.

These are just first responses.
  17. Update: I have decided to scrap the gate idea, however I am having trouble with VOs and the scripts. I would like to have my vehicles return to their places at my army base and harbour station. Please refer to the first post for screenshots. If anybody would be able to explain VOs and what changes I need to make to the scripts, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  18. Yeah, I know. That's w00d's map. I just wanted to keep the original map because I heard there are a few problems with w00d's map, and I have altered a few of my scripts and I'm unsure of if they will work on that map... I have a HES and Brush Patrol parked behind station 1, a Heavy Rescue Crane in place of the USAR in Station 1, and a Foam Tender in place for the HAZMAT squad in station 2... I heard the extra vehicles behind station one will not work on w00d's map.
  19. Which file did you overwrite? I tried to again, but yet again, my changes didn't stay when I started a new game... Also, do you think you can help me with the scripting for the electric gate? How would I do that? I was thinkink of adding a gate like the railroad crossing gates
  20. If I just wanted to have the fence, flagpoles, security cameras, helipad and containers, would It require scripting? What file do I need to overwrite to have the changes stick? I want to get this settled first, then i'll move onto scripting.
  21. I'm guessing he wants to have it a little realistic to have them stationed at an actually station and not just randomly on the street. In most cases SWAT teams respond from the central station or HQ, but having them at the police station is more realistic (response-wise) then having them on the street waiting. lol... I'm so jealous of your scripting skills... =P I've gotten better, but still a beginner.

  23. I don't have deluxe, which was why I was wondering why the changes didn't save... Also, I'm not great with scripting, so I didn't want to have it return to base. I was just going to use it as a manually landing pad. Also, I was just going to put vehicles on standby in there. However, if someone could point me in the right direction about scripting... It'd be alot better =P Do I need to alter scripts to have the changes saved? =l I don't think I do... but why else won't the changes stay?
