I'm sorry if you have answered this in the past but as you are including a water tender I assume you are including the limited water supply script?
Yeah, I am planning to.
-
I'm contracted through ODF and I'm a student firefighter/volunteer with a county dept. but I know people who work for/have worked for the feds, I'll see what I can do to answer your questions if you shoot them my way.
That's great. I'd love to get my hands onto info about what vehicles are exactly used by USFS in the area, and by which crews (designators and unit numbers to put on trucks and the models/types of the vehicles primarily, though pictures would be just epic)
I tried googling that, but the info I found is very limited. Although I may be bad with Google .

Looks great!
Did he add some monitors? And monitors on top of the monitors?

You can also used other truck games and convert them right?
It can work with any SCS Software trucking game. Both 18WoS and ETS models are too detailed for EM4 though, so you will need to do some polygon reduction, if you are getting a semi cab. Although in 18WoS traffic vehicle models may be suitable for EM4 without poly reduction, as well as some of the trailers.
-
Thank, what typ of software you use for convert ?
Zmodeller can work with both 18WOS and EM3/EM4 files
-
Look at the rigs at the gas station. This is such a great mod.
Oh, st-stop it, you *blushes*
On the topic - is there anyone who is at least somewhat familiar with USFS ground operations in Oregon area?
-
There is also a download of all textures unpacked in the download section (modding/textures)
-
Hi. As mentioned under the "credits" spoiler, the Freightliner Columbia, International 8600 and most trailers are made by SCS-Software, converted by me. Although the semis are still in need of serious poly reduction.Hi, good mod, who is author of these semi trucks ?
The Peterbilt semi and dryvan/box trailer are from LA mod.

Federal Signal should sponsor me. This is the lightbar off the LAFD Tanker.
How'd you get such a great opacity level on red color? Mine always turns out either too non-opaque or too red

I downloaded EM4 Deluxe a long time ago to try it out. I came to conclusion that it offers bigger variety of freeplay events + there were hundreds of new objects in the editor. But as Itchy is pointing out, not too many people have EM4:Deluxe. I do use standart Emergency 4. Truth is that the new freeplay map in Deluxe is pretty decent and is a nice refresh of the old freeplay map that I hate.
Can't wait to see various agencies to respond. Especially I think that it'd nice to see the option to assemble mountain rescue team as a part of the search and rescue task force.
Yeah, Deluxe had some nice events, like the attempted suicide by drowning (one more water rescue event is always good), and then there was a special event, which activated, when a big traffic jam was starting to gather, so that made traffic control a bit easier (you wouldn't forget about it, at least). I'll look up if I can get the event from Deluxe map to mine.
And a small update for the agency that was left out for quite a long time - USFS Tactical Water Tender - Unit numbering may be a subject of change

IIRC Blackwood County mod had a Jeep Wrangler. And didn't I say no requests?
Wrangler is in original game. Also there is Cherokee in LA Mod
-
But the game still counts them as car crashes despite being otherwise. IMO, this method adds unecessary strain to the game and its performance, especially having to load so many gameObjects.
Well, it still would need to do all that stuff even with a custom event, wouldn't it? And getting the name from LA mod - physical rescue assignment - will help with all misnamings.
-
If you have Em4 deluxe, there already is a forest fire mission available to play with. Problem is, the majority here I believe use 911FR or normal Em4, so they don't have the event in freeplay.
Like I said, mission related stuff is very difficult to pull of and it required that you basically recreate normal freeplay, but in the campaign mode.
I've tried making my own mission script. Very difficult to do and progress is super slow due to the amount of code and functions I have to deal with.
What I mean by "recreating" is just assembling the event in editor. Same way as couple of mods handled it - from top of my head, Harbor City, which has a wide range of accidents made using MVA logics - helicopter crashes, derailments, boat accidents, even a friggin' fallen crane, which is basically one of those "accidents that might as well have been separate missions" callouts.
-
That sounds really cool. This kid is looking excellent, for an event what about a freight train derailment in the forest, few injured and a leak of chemical gas
One hell of a derailment, considering there's almost no railway on the map
Though accident(s) involving chemical transportation truck(s) is a good idea...
As for the fire breaks - I won't promise anything, as I am not sure if I'll be able to deliver. I'm not sure my scripting skills will be enough for such a job.
Also a little problem with fire breaks - it is close to impossible to create forests in Em4 with "tree" objects, as the game uses a special, non-chainsawable (non-physical) "forest" model which is a collection of about half a dozen trees and some undergrowth. The performance drops very significantly if single trees are used.
Custom events unfortunately require mission script logic which is very very very hard to do. Believe me.
The most one can do is use the default Em4 events and position them in a way that the forest complicates them and makes them more difficult to solve. An example would be a gas explosion in a cabin surrounded by trees. Now that would be a challenge.
I believe HAZMAT accidents may be recreated based on MVA accidents with a little help of mission-used objects, like that truck, which spills chemicals upon destruction.
Oh, and good luck responding to a "person fallen" call, if that person is hiker in the woods, without assembling a full-fledged Search and Rescue team
-
Damnit! Lol I don't have that key on my laptop *facepalm*
You might have it. On mine it's Fn + "Home", kind of hard to notice
-
Nah, your performance is normal. Mine's remarkable. Remarkably bad.Oh. I didnt think my PC's performance in Em4 was remarkable in any way shape or form.
Another sample vid. Its choppy because it really is in my PC. If I had better specs, maybe I would have less lag.
-
Frames per secondFPS?
-
Thanks. Its a personal touch that I wanted to do for a while. Every single fire engine and brush truck in the game has pump panel lights btw.
How to quell a riot in Em4 without losing 20 officers and burning the map down:
Or you can use an air tanker... ehm, nice vehicle, I meant
Love the fact that officers leave the vehicles once at the station.
Also a bit jealous about the FPS
-
I am aiming to include all the original callouts, with them being possibly harder then usual, as it is planned that the suspects will try running through the woodsSorry if this has been asked, but what kind of police callouts can we expect? [emoji14]

I was going to look at this at some point but I don't think you can change the speed for paths.
^
IIRC, Stolen Vehicles work as a combination of specific on-map vehicle and a path, so it is possible to create a duplicate prototype for a specific civilian vehicle and give it a greater speed value, then use it solely for purpose of such calls.
-
W W! Thats looks amazing! Never saw this car before
Are you planing to add Fire/EMS units?
I believe some time ago there was a poll in this topic about Fire/EMS (to keep it close to NFS or to add "random" units)
What I would actually suggest to the Author is to make the different units based on civilian vehicles that appear in NFS games - like converting vans into ambulances. This way he will keep a healthy unit variety and wouldn't go too far from the idea of making NFS-based modification.
Although he shouldn't make any additional cop cars from the civs we find in NFS - there are enough actual cop cars in NFS games (also I wouldn't like to see Epic Pursuit Edition Prius )
And yeah, that Taurus looks great and really similar to source material.
-
Well, that means you are missing the model. Check your model files and see if there is a tow truck in there
Yep, this^
There should actually be two models - one without "cargo" - you have that one, and another one with cargo - the one you are missing
-
Might wanna just stick with the USFS plain if you don't feel like reskinning it, the USFS would be there and would be deploying air tankers most likely if the fire got that big.
But I've already made an NPS firehouse. And an NPS Fire/Rescue unit is in late stage of development. Also, I like NPS livery over the USFS one.
Oh, and tanker is off-map unit anyway, so it can be considered off-map support, as well as actual USFS ground units.
-
And that is a 737 or 747 to answer the mini-writing
Yeah, I'm not much of an aviation expert. Civilian, at least. Airplanes, at least. But doesn't the cargo liners have no passenger windows? This way, it will be a passenger liner convert, which is kind of odd.
Also, 737, I believe.
