  1. This means that regardless to how fast/well armed the first response is, it will NOT engage the potential threat directly unless forced to anyway.. That is why incidents like columbine go on for so long.. Who is the subject in question?  What are they armed with? How many? Do they have hostages? Will we further endanger lives by moving in too fast without correct intel?  Did they set traps? Are there IEDs present?

    Columbine could be considered the first of its kind, where the police took it as a hostage type situation. Alot has changed since then in police tactics such. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immediate_Action_Rapid_Deployment  Even my local county police has a emergency plan like this, if there was something happening at a school, the first two or three patrol cars would divide up into like two teams of two and make immediate entry. It doesn't always prevent the damage from occuring, but it defiantly stops sooner. It is also one reason why many places provide assault rifles to officers in patrol cars. In these cases, SWAT or ESU gets there after the fact.

  2. I keep having an issue where I fail the challenge missions. I'll have all my calls cleared, and I'll get a call for an injured person. The person is impossible to find. The next call that comes in is an exploded gas pipe. Before I can even look at the map, the game ends. Is there a fix for this? I am playing 3.05c.....

    The challenge mission in V3 does not work, I would stick to standard freeplay.

    I think when I load freeplay, it loads as challenge automatically. I play FDNY/EMS only. Do I need to play the PD missions for it to work?

    Yea

  3. I got it from them a long time ago, and like you I'm pretty sure I got that extend download or whatever its called. Anyways if yours was the same as mine you got this application called "911FirstResponders_DownloadManager". I basically copied that onto a thumb drive a pasted it on each of my new computers, and has worked like a charm each time. Hope this helps.

  4. NFK I am surprised this already has not become a common issue. Yes a slick top or unmarked adds some stealth but the tear drop is always a dead give away that it is or was a cop/fire chief car(AMR doesn't have any Vics, supervisors roll a Ford truck. F350 Super Duty I assume with an enclosed utility camper shell on the back).

    Atleast around me, any crown vic that you see that is not a yellow taxi is a dead giveaway that it's a unmarked, so having a teardrop spotlight on it does not make a real difference in determining its the police. And unless your going right next to the unmarked unit at night, your more than likely not going to see it on the car. The stealthiest some on the unmarks in the NYPD. I have seen them using everything like honda mini-vans as unmarks and other cars that you would never even look twice at.

  5. - Increase police interaction. Make it similar to the missions.

    - Identify victims in vehicles:     rather than depending on Jaws of Life.  Have a check vehicle that will get this information.

    - Various crimes should escalate:     if they go unsolved.  Pick pockets become more when you don't solve them.   Arson. Etc...

    - Get rid of suspect symbol:  Instead provide a description or none and we have to figure it out.  Makes for a better challenge. Male/Blue Shirt

    Your police suggestions are something I have not seen mentioned, and honestly would raise them up from being a boring chase the suspect. A computer database system to run names and check for records would definitely have me playing as the police. Would be pretty cool to see the suspects getaway and become a bigger threat, and maybe cause increase in crime like simcity?

    - If this was an online game I could toss out a lot more suggestions that would make it even more interesting.

    It is, so feel free to throw them out here, you put alot of thought into them and I was impressed that some of these I never even thought about. Good ideas.

  6. Can we get a mirror? It wants to me to install the mega add on, which I dont want to but did. Yet I still can;t download it even after restarting firefox. It just wants me to install the add on again and again.

    I uploaded it so 4shared a couple days ago for someone else who couldn't use mega, forgot to put the links on here. Its now added on the NYCERU general topic page.

  7. I played Manhattan Mod and I can describe it with just one word: EPIC! The heart of New York scenario mixed with all the 911 emergency services, that you can control, making you feel like watching a typical American action film, with NYPD and FDNY, all in your hands! So I can imagine what will come out in the Brooklyn Mod. I can't (BAD WORD) wait!

    Yea thats the way it was meant to be played. I can't blame you for being so (BAD WORD) excited.

  8. these guys banned people for there TS server for asking to join in there next mulitplayer game WTF and why do you people do this you want loads of people to play your mods and join in online but then you kick them from your server ok thats well good idea hahah NOT

    If you have a problem with the group or it actions, feel free to make use of the private messaging system. Otherwise http://forum.emergency-planet.com/topic/15822-new-york-city-emergency-response-unit-nyceru-multiplayer-group/ is the topic regarding the teamspeak, this one is for anything regarding the BOF mod.

  9. I saw on your facebook that i can suggest scripts. Because i can't react there, i do it here.

    Can you put in the script to set buildings on fire by yourself, like in the FNDY academy modificatio?. And an option to choose to let events randomly happen if people don't want to make fires by themselves?

    Events are already automatic and random, that is a feature part of the base game. As for the set fire script, it is already in the mod on one of the units.
  10. I believe this was how I got mine originally. Just makes sure you copy down your cd key and save a copy of the original install files so that you don't have to pay for the extended download. It is a digital download but it's direct from Atari

    http://www.atari.com/buy-games/simulation/911-first-responders

    Yea I got mine through Atari also, and through the link that i got I've managed to install it on three separate computers. Only problem was that the mod installer originally did not work, but I found a quick fix for it on the forum here. (Did message Atari about it but you know how tech support is.....)

  11. Hi, have a couple quick questions about the mod.

    How would I go about turning off the background music thats on during freeplay? Second, I got an ems call with a person down inside of a building. This building had the command to preform the search of the building, however the firefighters could not actually enter it to provide ems aid to the victim or pick the victim up. It was not like the McDonalds on the map that has an open door. There were no open doors on this particular building with the victim in it. This was on V3.0 because im still having the instant CTD upon startup of 3.0.5

    Thanks for the help

    Some of the larger skyscraper buildings are open building, but there are different as they do not have that enter open house icon. What you to do is zoom inside the building and then click the firefighters to move inside. I would suggest doing the camera hack fix as some buildings will need the enhanced zoom. I pretty sure theres instructions on how to do it out there, or if your running V3.0.5 it automatically does it for you upon loading the mod.

    :beer: 100 posts on here, time to crack one open....not really cause I'm not 21....but....

  12. In your specs folder open fp_params_freeplay.xml (with like notepad)

    The first line at the top are these:

    <MinDurationBetweenEvents value = "30.0" />

    <MaxIdleDuration value = "15.0" />

    The numbers represent the amount of seconds. I'm almost positive that the first one is the minimum amount of time between the events (cause it says that  :laugh: ) which is set at 30 seconds. Not to sure on the max idle one, however, basically increasing these two will slow down the amount of events.

    For example for Manhattan V3:

    <MinDurationBetweenEvents value = "230.0" />

    <MaxIdleDuration value = "250.0" />

    Which is why in V3 it is slower and you normally have more time. I hope this was the answer you were looking for.
