  1. So here's where we stand. Itchboy's copy is working OK, while mine isn't. I sent him updated files and he's going to get everything together and working properly. 

     

    He may be the one posting the link if I'm asleep by then, but either way, we're looking at 2-3 more hours at least. 

     

    We could release now but the paramedic system is still broken and I don't think anyone wants to play freeplay without being able to treat anyone / send them to the hospital 

  2. Getting ready to release soon. Might be a little later than anticipated. We have a big bug in the ambulance / paramedic system and it would drastically negate game play if released as-is, so we want to get that fixed first. Should only be a few more hours.

    Everything except the 12 AM part and the EM planet part, last time I tried to upload to EM planet it wouldn't work. Will be on Mega though

     

    Yeah. If there was some possibility to donate and it would help to bring even better modification, why not. I would definitely donate. 

     

    Might do something like that for my next project

  4. What are issues we can expect in 2.0?

     

    For the most part:

    - A few units that are missing, mostly units that aren't crucial to gameplay

    - Some traffic issues, although we think this has been at least partially resolved

    - Possible bugs in scripts

    - Unpolished UI and sound FX

    - Lack of many new freeplay events

    - Some incomplete units, might be missing lights, etc

     

    All of those things will be addressed in 2.1 patch 

  5. The Dec. 23rd version will not be multiplayer compatible, but the patched version will be. 

     

    Basically, V2.0, tomorrow's version, is going to be a beta with some issues. V2.1 is going to be the best experience.

     

    Should be stable enough to get some good gameplay though  :xmas:

    I was wondering... did you make a script to where when units are patrolling, they will stop at red lights?

    A question - how long do you think it's taken, in total, to get your map up to that standard? I guess you started from scratch and had to make your own buildings, models, textures and so on..?

    It's taken about a year overall, at least. And most of it is original, but yes, I bought several building and prop models from turbosquid. 

     

    Great work Bama you guys say you worked your asses off and it shows, great job! Question with some mods I have downloaded in the past some creators used different light setups so when the vehicles turn on their lights you get little white boxes. Is that something that we might experience with this mod or are you using the same lights as V1.2. Lastly I noticed in your awesome screenshots alot of american cars. Are we gonna need to download the American Car pack for this or do they come with the mod.Thank-you

     

    Shouldn't be a problem, the new coronas are included. Civil pack is included too.

     

    How big is the map is it manhattan mod v3 big or bigger or smaller?

     

    Same size. Max size for an EM4 map.

    :excl: Everyone, there's a poll up, which I'd appreciate your vote in. Itchboy and I are working our asses off, but the truth is a release on the 23rd won't be complete. It'll be more like an almost-finished beta version. So go look at the poll options. If enough people want it, I'll still release on the 23rd, and release a patch a week or two afterwards, which will complete the mod and iron out the bugs. If the other option wins, it'll be released later, but as a complete and tested version. Your vote counts!

     

    I want to apologize for dancing around with this release date. Fact is, each date I gave, I thought I'd be able to make. But life rears its ugly head again and again. So now the date is up to you all  :happy:

  8. My only question to the development team is if there will be full access to all vehicles in 2.0. In 1.0-1.2 I had to script some SWAT vehicles into freeplay because they weren't avaliable in the unit list in-game. 

     

    Also. 1.2 Download link removed? I can't find out how to download it onto my laptop.

     

    Which vehicles were missing? In this version there will be at least one SWAT vehicle available. 

     

    And yeah, it's been removed. 

  9. Very important question: What is going to be the size of the download? If you dont know give me an aproximate size plz. I have a 1MB internet connection that takes like 5 days to download a 1GB file. 

     

    If its 1GB or more by any chance could you compress the whole thing into a zip/rar file?

    I won't know for sure until closer to release, but I doubt it will be more than a GB. Probably closer to 800mb like Handsup said.

     

    And station assignments like what's in each station

     

    Only one fire station. Two engines, supervisor, and a brush.

    Would it be possible to mention some little details about the map? :)

     

    Its my best kept secret right now, even though its 90% done... I will say this. It will make you forget EM4 was ever European. No textures have been recycled. It's got a little bit of everything... most of it is the town, there's farmland on the outskirts, train lines, creeks, a forest, and plenty of other fun details. 

     

    I'll probably release a large picture of part of it a few days before release.

  10. Hey Bama great work and great progress! Just a question I thought you didn't intend on doing the limited water supply for this mod? That is what I thought I heard but you are so that is just something to make this mod better. With that will their be a hydrant or something close to the station to fill the trucks after a call. Finally with the talk of 8 MVA and the water supply mod and it being a volunteer department with few apparatus I'm not sure if you planned on making the call volume slower. I am not sure if their is a way to do that, just because having two trucks (I am taking this from the teaser picture) and minimal water supply wasn't sure if you planned on doing that. You may have answered this before, sorry I just want a clarification. Otherwise great mod and you have worked hard on it, awesome job!

     

    Yeah call volume will be slowed down and there will be a hydrant to refill at the station with.

     

    Is it possible to just have the camhack so we can zoom in closer and leave the the pitch as it is on the default game? As the original camhack pitch tends to lag the crap out of my system.

     

    That's what I had in mind. Really no point in having the cam almost horizontal.

  11. Is there away to get around only getting something like 2 of the MVAs, and none of the others? The only way I've found is renaming them...

     

    Never really experienced this issue myself, but we'll put the mod through hours of gameplay testing before it's released so I doubt this will be an issue.

     

    I have two questions:

     

    1.) Will the camera hack be integrated into this mod?

     

    2.) Will the limited water supply script be put into this mod?

    1: Yes. However it may be altered from the original hack in order to safeguard framerates.

    2: Yes. 

  12. Release date postponed until Dec. 23, and that is final. Won't be postponed anymore. And trust me, it will be worth the wait.

     

    Hey Bama, I looked through older posts, and I couldn't find anything that answered a few questions I was wondering about, so I figured I would ask you on here. 

     

    1: How fast will the fire spread rate be, will it be slower but harder too put out like the Manhattan mod?? or will it spread at the normal rate it is with most mods??

     

    2: How many different MVI's do you think you will have in this mod??

    1: Haven't changed the specs yet, but definitely slower. We'll try to make it more life-like and more manageable given the units available. Won't be anything like V1. 

    2: I'm assuming this means Motor Vehicle Incidents? If so there will be plenty. I think there are 8 so far but I'm planning on adding quite a few more before release.

    I am experiencing some lag in mods when I have a scene with units all lit up. I have cleaned up the map of objects, and that has helped but the lag is till bothering me. I still have a lot of RAM left. Does anyone have any tips?

    Best advice I can offer is to go into the editor and reduce the radiation size of the units' lights. Reducing corona size will help too. If you want to keep them looking good with large radiations and coronas, then do like marius said and upgrade your GPU/CPU.

  14. No not really at all.... if he was getting higher FPS in EM5 then in GTA IV, that would be ridiculous, as it is a new game. Comparing a game from 6 years ago to a modern one that has completely different shading, lighting etc. effects is just pointless. Compare it to GTA V when its released, then you might be on to a relatively closer comparison, but still the two engines are completely different, one a FPS only loading local data and one an large map RTS loading information and AI from across the map.

    What do people want, a game that feels out of date in two years when the larger mods are ready?

     

    I meet the recommended requirements for EM5, yet it runs terribly on anything other than Low. & I'm not the only one having this issue. It is poorly optimized. And I believe what people want is a game that they can run, as long as they have the right hardware, like myself.

     

    P.S. - GTA IVs graphics still hold up today, especially on high settings. It's a good looking game, especially with mods. It also has a much, much larger map and a lot more going on.

    Of course it is lower FPS then GTA IV.

    GTA IV came out in 2008. 6 years ago! And even then GTA IV wasn't a very computer heavy game, it doesn't calculate traffic all over the map, only spawns it on the edge of your view line, in fact sometimes spawns it in your view line if your speeding a long very fast in a open area, which looks embarrasing.

     

    Emergency 5 is a game running 2014 graphics with a lot of effects GTA IV never had, and GTA V only just has now. And it still calculates and draws up a lot of stuff extra then GTA V would, the games aren't really comparable.

     

    I think the point Ace was trying to make is that it is well known that GTA IV was a terrible PC port, and even those with top-end gaming PCs experience issues with performance; so the fact that he gets more FPS in GTA IV than in EM5 is a bit of embarrassment. 

     

    For me, I only get decent FPS in Em5 on low settings and a low resolution. The Low settings look terrible in this game. I have a mid-end gaming PC, even in today's standards, so I'm a bit disappointed at the performance. If they can patch it, or if I eventually get a PC that can run it, I feel like it would be an enjoyable experience. But from what I've heard, even the users with high-end PCs are having trouble getting decent performance out of the game.
