  1. I'd like a police captain, or an option available to all patrol/swat officers to call a SWAT truck full of SWAT guys, 4 regular and 2 sharp shooters. Then along with that you bring the unmarked CV out with something and the negotiator/scout.

    Does anyone like this idea?

Eh, Police Captains in real life never leave their offices. After you make Lt in Police work you'll never be outside again really. I wouldn't mind a Patrol Supervisor, but eh, I just want the map done, and done well! Maybe in 2.0.

I don't use a lot of the things either. Hazmat already almost never gets called out and that has its own station spot. After I put the boat in the water at the beginning of the game, I send the transport boat home. USAR does all car accidents and the like. I never use forestry units, I always call in a plane as soon as a forest fire happens. LASD is never used, nor is FBI. Port Police is used on occasion. Airport Police is not. Coast Guard is useless in Freeplay, etc. Mass Cass., has only been called out one time in 6 months for me in Freeplay due to a gas explosion with 8 down. If I need to send a special unit to a scene, I call it from the map which you could just pretend you requested it from an outside station. You don't need to have every single vehicle in the game on the map. The battalion chief is too much of a pain in the ass to use since I can already see the fire and don't need him to call out more trucks.

If anything, in 2.0 I'd like the ability for the car itself to be able to call for backup like a Police Officer can if somebody is in it. That would help a lot.

  2. Hi, my name is Brendon. I generally play EM4 Multiplayer because finding an LA Mod game is hard.

Rescue is always my first choice, as very rarely do any civilians die when I am playing that position. I also play a very good police role if someone has taken the spot of medic. Tech is also fine with me. I dislike being a firefighter, so for me it would be Rescue/Police/Tech. I am a very professional player, and enjoy playing with professional teammates. I always update other players on what I do.

  3. LA is not in the desert, It's along the California coast. Also It has rainy seasons and dry seasons, so in some parts of the year, they average 3" of rain, and in other parts they get .28" of rain.

It rains a couple of times a year, not nearly every day like it currently is. Too much rain, it's crazy.

  4. The way everything placed now is realistic. 1 Hospital, 2 FireStations and 1 PD. If we had anymore, all there would be is buildings that have to do with Firestations and PD, and that would be unrealistic. In real life there aren't hospitals and Police Stations everywhere.

Also, are you going to make it so that it doesn't rain? It rarely rains in LA, and thunderstorms are very rare as well. Fog is also extremely rare, as LA is in the desert.

  5. Hoppah, I just wonder.. It looks like this is mostly commercial areas, with the LA river, a park, I can see where the industrial area will go.. I just wonder, will there be enough residential area? Like those little walled, "planned community" types? Since that's what much of the southwest is now.

I just wonder, the way it's looking, if the residential areas will look just kinda thrown in... ? Other than that, I'm loving the layout. *thumbs up!*

In Los Angeles where the Commercial areas are, there are no "planned community" types. Those are all on the outskirts of LA and most of what you see of them is actually in Ventura. I'm going to guess the last two empty corners will be filled with houses like a strip, which is common for houses near commercial areas in LA.

  6. Same video card I have! It has never let me down and it's a real workhorse :) . The building models look absolutely fantastic too! Since you have changed car models, will pedestrian models have been changed to? I'm also curious on how roadways will be handled to for driving. Will all the lanes be filled with traffic?

Thanks for the good work, keep it up.

  7. Additional from my responding units, I have a medical team at the police station, because almost every call my officers receive injuries, so they see the station paramedic. I also have a "dispatcher" set up as my #1 at station one, he is an ems supervisor...

If your Officers get injured, even minor, almost every call, you're doing something wrong. My Officers are rarely, if ever get injured.

The only time I ever remember any of my Officers getting severely hurt was during an Earthquake.

  8. Where we have one big police force that has jurisdiction anywhere in the province, we can chase them anywhere basically, and they usually make a run for the highways, which lead one way pretty much, then the RCMP will just join in and take care of that... RCMP does the highways pretty much.

How do they do it with horses? :1046275767_ugly:

  9. Here's my story: Suicide Attempt! Man jumped from a bridge into the water. One LAFD Boat and a BLS Ambulance, haha.

Honestly though, PD Control for traffic is completely useless, firetrucks can make cars turn around, and traffic doesn't build up enough to the point where traffic control is needed, and since traffic only travels on one side of the road since the other is always empty, I just position my units on the empty side.

Also, when there really is a bigger emergency, the last thing I need to care about is traffic control, since there are more important things to do. The only time I ever do traffic control is during the one MVA off of the bridge, since that one takes quite a while.
