  3. How long away is the "final release"? I really want some tape that stops public, allows emergency team, and can stretch different distances. I've been looking for one for ages that can do all those three but fail to find one, and if I do it does only 1 of the 3. Will yours be capable of them? :O Omg I am wetting myself with joy.

I'm making a "request" thread for someone to make one but wanted to know if the one in your mod is working as said in PM before I make thread.

  5. Hi All, Does anyone have a DDS converter? I am editing vehicle XML files and cannot relate ingame names to vehicle folder names, thus I require a DDS converter to view the vehicle like I would see it in game. The DDS Converter v2.1 both on this site, and google, both do not work. The convert button never appears and the preview (which is what I want) fails. The DDS Photoshop thing on this site does not work with Adobe Photoshop CS5. Does anyone know an alternative? -Groovy

  7. Fraps allows you to take screenshots every X seconds. Not only this but it saves where you want. I think its quite handy.

  9. No intention to be rude, and I know you have a life away from gaming, but please hurry up! (Is development still even going on?) "Customising Traffic and Pedestrian Traffic Enabling and disabling events (and customising them)" Those sound good. I'd like to change how much traffic/pedestrians their are along with changing events. Would their be a feature to change it's frequency? For example I want police situations like hostage situations and demonstrations to happen more often than random fires.
  10. I hope this happens. I also hope the sirens have different actions. For example, one siren could make ALL traffic and pedestrians move out the way, and another could make them stop and not move. Another could make the vehicles pull over to the side of the road (or divert). Another could be heard from a while away, thus vehicles and people would take action (ie move out the way) before the vehicle is even close to them. What do you guys think about my idea?
  11. Sorry for the bump, but has any serious development been done on this? EDIT: I can't wait for the tape alone to come out. All I want is the tape - I have questions for Dyson; 1) Will the tape have the ability to change lenght? (Ie, The tape could go street lenght or lenght of a car and still look okay?) 2) Will police/emergency services be able to go through the tape? (I don't care about tape lifting animations) 3) Will vehicles and pedestrians be completely blocked off by the tape? (The public cannot get past?) 4) Can the tape go between different sizes of vehicles? (Like 2 bikes or 2 police helis?) EDIT: I see this has been released in the latest version. Does anyone know what file(s) I must create or change to replace the metal barricade with the tape one? EDIT: Is it also possible to have both commands? (Have the metal and tape barricade?) I know how to edit vehicle XML properties and traits so adding the new tape barricade would be fine for me, but would any command scripts need changing?
  12. I don't know if the files are different for you, but in my 911 First Responders, I think you can edit a LA Mod XML file for each mission, and inside SHOULD be a variable to change the time? (Just like in "Specs" you can change the freeplay parking slots)
  13. I need help with this too. I want to delete a building in the middle of the map (which I can do), and then copy/paste a car park from another area, putting it where the building was. I then want to rename the "Send to Police Station" command to "Send to Parking Area", in which the vehicles will return to the Virtual Objects in the center parking area. Is this possible?
  14. I'd like to see more. Trust me, when you play freeplay for over 6 hours, the same events start popping up in the same places. Demonstrations near the bottom of the map, Suiside attemps at the building to the lower left with a window thats open all the time, and crate fires near the dock. It's really annoying me. I love it and its fun, and it not really really annoying, but soon I'll get bored of it. I'd like to see more Demonstrations, Riots, Bank Robberies, Hostage Situations, maybe even murders... In freeplay... Not a mission, and, when one of these tricky events is on, no other events can spawn until it's complete or failed. Maybe someone will make freeplay missions soon. I can't wait.
  15. I don't know much about modding. All I know is loading a mod, changing vehicle traits, and editing vehicle/settings XML files, however, I personally never use the fire station. It cannot hold the vehicles I want it to, thus I spawn vehicles off the map, like the base game. I would like to see if someone, such as yourself, could remove a building somewhere one on one side of the map, and other on the opposite side, and put down car parking slots. These slots are where all types of vehicle (including technical) and park using a "Go to Parking Area" button. There would be 4 slots of each vehicle, such as 4 motorbike spaces, 4 FBI SUV spaces, 4 ALS spaces, ect. Would you only be doing car park space edits for the police station?

Yes, That is what I ment. 911 First Responders/Emergency 4 is so much better than EM 2012. I'll give EM2012 100% credit for better graphics and generally a more sleek GUI, but with no mod capabilities nor the common 911FR/EM4 features, I'm out.
  17. Hmm, Found a guide to editing unit.xml. It is a tutorial, thus inactive as it does not show latest replies like forums. If someone could please check it out, my comment is at the bottom. Also, When playing in the editor with "Prototypes" window, I found the vehicles (With LA Mod Loaded) that are in the base game, which are the below. How can I activate/use these? How may I disable LA Mod vehicles too? I also saw a military jet. How can I enable this? Thanks in advance, -Groovy
  18. I think ill try and move the default map or a custom map without the fire station at all into LA Mod, and find a way to remove the commands. Ill just spawn all vechicles from off the map.

Its fine to ask here if its a genuine support question where the community and its players would know more about it, but getting help on something you should know we cannot help you with, as Shadylasse said, "it just annoys people". However, good luck with getting your game working.

I have figured out how to open the editor, load the load, ect, and then when I went to the fire station I saw blue boxes everywhere where vehicles are, for example at traffic lights, accidents, but mainly in both fire stations after removing the roof. How can I remove the cars from the back, move the fire station back and fit more vehicles in? Just a little help and instructions may help alot. A tutorial on something only told me I had to change the traits of a vehicle and I learned how to load a mod and I found the traits all on my own once I knew where to look.

Thanks to you, and this tutorial, I figured out how to load a mod, find vehicles AND maps in the editor, and edit them! THANK YOU! I have a question though! Can you please provide a list of all personnel and equipment names/variables I can use in the vehicles? Thanks, -Groovy.   23. Hello, I and many of my friends have though about playing music in the game, but still hearing the sound effects. I looked around and found out how to put custom music in the game. 1) Download a free MP3 to OGG Converter off the internet. 2) Navigate to program files or the relative folder where your programs are stored. 3) Locate the folder containing your emergency 4 game. 4) Once in the root directory of the game, navigate to Data > Audio > Soundtracks 5) Use the converter to convert your MP3 or other file that can be converted. 6) Call your file one of the file names below, relative to what you want. 7) Take a backup of the file you are about to replace from the game directory. 8) Move your converted and renamed file into the game directory and overwrite. Congratulations! You did it. If you need help, please post in this thread. I and others will assist as fast as possible. I personally have changed the main theme, so when waiting for multi player games, I can listen to my own music. That own music was actually one of the "background_XXXX" files I renamed as I preferred it. FILE NAMES: action_short_01 > One of the short and sharp clips that about 30 seconds, normally when an event is about to happen. action_short_02 > Same type of file as above, simply is a different sound. action_short_03 action_short_04 action_short_05 action_short_06 action_short_07 action_short_08 background_01 > One of the pieces of music that plays in the background. background_01_low > A quieter version of the music that plays in the background background_02 > Same type of file as above, simply is a different sound. background_02_low > Same type of file as above, simply is a different sound. background_03 background_03_low background_04 background_04_low background_05 background_05_low background_06 background_06_low 01_maintheme > The main theme that plays on the menu screens. You hear this when waiting to join a multiplayer game too as it is part of the menu.
  24. Is there any way I can unlock deluxe events in freeplay is is that not nessessary for 911FR?
