  1. Ok cool, And if it means anything I would suggest to do one lumina, one caprice. Lumina's weren't really great cars in general and were terrible police cars.  My department bought luminas in 1998 last one I saw in front line service was 2000, Most were repainted dark blue got transferred to school safety shortly after they were deemed unfit for patrol they lasted another few years before they started blowing head gaskets before they hit 50k. Our caprices lasted up until 2007 when they started retiring them due to age.

That being said it would still be cool to see one in game. And good call on not doing the catfish taurus the next generation looked a lot better

  2. If were still talking about 90s Police vehicles a lot of small towns still have old caprices and crown vics in there fleet.  Even on gov deals now there are about 10 1992-1997 Crown vics and 1 95 caprice waiting to be auctioned off. A lot of these cars tend to either been former police cars turned fire department cars or detective cars however it wouldn't be entirely out of the question.

  3. Also I have a suggestion. Give MPFD a volunteer BLS ambulance and replace the hospital ambulance with a fly car. It would make sense since most EMS is volunteer and in addition it would be more challenging for resource management. Rural areas with limited resources generally benefit more from a tiered response system with fly cars.

  4. necroing a post but,

On my police department we have to pass evoc before we can drive. each type of vehicle is technically its own evoc class. IE car suv van and truck

In Private EMS it depends on the company. Some just throw you a set of keys a few have you go out on the road with an FTO judging your driving.Others have age limits. Typically 21 or 23. Most wont let you drive unless you have CEVO.

  5. Here in NY with The current system there are 4 tiers of EMS providers:

Certified First Responder: 80 hour course. Basically a combination of first-aid, CPR and AED. Aimed at volunteer Firefighters.

EMT-Basic: 200 hour course. Can do all basic life support skills. Can give some medications (Nitro, Albuterol, Epi-Pen, Narcan, Asprin). Can insert oral and nasal airways. Can sample BG's and do Pulse Ox readings.

EMT-Advanced: 220 hours, can do everything the basic can do but can start an IV Line as well and use a manual defib/monitor and run a 12 lead EKG. Can also use a King Airway.

EMT-Paramedic: Can do everything the others can do, plus can administer a wide range of drugs, perform RSI and intubation.

The state requires an ambulance crew to at a minimum have 1 EMT-Basic on board. The driver does NOT have to be an EMT, but MUST have CPR/AED.

The county requires all ambulance crews be EMT-B's at minimum. Most agencies staff with 1 EMT and 1 Paramedic on each rig.

Fire departments that do not have an ambulance and dont transport have less stringent requirements. In our county ALL paid Firefighters MUST be EMT-B's or paramedics. ALL volunteers must at a minimum have CPR/AED and Red Cross First Aid. That being said most departments demand more... In our department its expected that all volunteers will complete either CFR or EMT-B within a year of finishing fire training. all of our paid staff and about 90% of our volunteers are EMT-B's.

I cant imagine not being allowed to take an SpO2 reading or give asprin... :WTF:

    are you from upstate?

Here in the city Advanced EMTs aren't recognized. and every 911 truck is either both EMTs or Both Medics. On the transport side you generally have Medic/EMT crews. As an EMT practicing in the city blood glucose and pulse oxs are not in our protocol (Despite that they should be and some crews carrying them anyway.) Can you guys give narcan up there? It was just approved for us.

  6. Had this issue for the past couple of weeks. No clue what it is but it crashes about 10 seconds after I start the game. C/P'd my log file so hopefully someone can help me fix this issue

  7. I have a few notes for Dyson and Rafael mostly regarding NYPD vehicles

    Unmarked Vehicle lighting packages

Unmarked cars are typically equipped with basic lighting packages either a Reg/White LED light above the mirror or the passenger visor Older cars will have a red halogen light on the dashboard, Wig Wags or strobes in the headlights and tail lights. Deck lights were used on all crown vics from 1998-2011, Impalas were rarely equipped with deck lights until 2008 when there were equipped with red and blue deck lights.

    NYPD use of blue lights

Blue lights were approved for police use in NYS in 2006 and the NYPD adapted them in 2007 for highway patrol and 2008 for all units. Starting in 2010/2011 Older RMP's that were sent to the shops were equipped with blue lights located in the outer 2 pods of the vision light bar.

    NYPD Unmarked Vehicles

The NYPD uses several types of unmarked vehicles including Crown Vics, Impalas, Fusions, Altimas and Tauruses for Patrol and detective units. They are mostly dark colors but the occasional silver and tan cars are found. The NYPD does not use white unmarked cars.

    NYPD Vehicle Numbering Plan

Here is how vehicles are assigned a number. Starting in 2008 vehicles received smaller numbers indicating the last 2 digits of the year of the vehicle

#1000 Series - RMP's and some Prisoner transport vehicles

    #2000 Series - RMP's

#2800/2900 Series - Highway Patrol Vehicles

#3000 Series - RMP's and Heavy Duty Trucks

    #4000 Series - RMP's

#5000 Series - Hybrids and pre 2009 Vans and SUV's / New Highway Patrol RMP's

#6000 Series - School Safety Vehicles

    #7000 Series - Traffic Vehicles

#7800 Series - Auxiliary Police Vehicles

    #8000 Series - 2009 and Up SUV's and Vans

#9000 Series - All Housing Vehicles

#AP000 Series - Older Blue Auxiliary Police Vehicles

    NYPD impala decklights

the NYPD started equipping there marked impalas with Red and Blue deck lights starting in 2008. There have never been Red and White Deck lights on any NYPD impalas

  8. NYC was late to the game on led, some cop cars got em earlier, but most fire seems to have just got led... Our mod is post-9/11, I had to upgrade most the fire apparatus to include their tributes, dumb luck had it most of our vehicles were either damaged or destroyed that day, nearly all have tribute markings.... Newer toys about 08 on its commonplace to see led now, most of em i did were 02-05 range, easier to find pics of em.

PD and FD got LEDs about the same time, 2003/2004. You didnt see it with FD as much because there vehicle replacement schedule is much different. then PD. FD typically gets 10 to 12 years out of there rigs. In PD if a marked car manages to make it 5 years then thats miraculous. (Unmarked cars are a different story they typically last 6/7 years)

  9. Another Realism thing that you might want to know about is in FS2. EMS is separate from fire and the EMS Conditions boss (The guy in the EMS SUV) would never be quartered in a regular run of the mill fire house. so you might want to move him to the hospital and set up an EMS station there, Even if it is just a door on the side of the hospital that has the FDNY or HHC Logo on it (Thats typically what they are in Real life). My suggestion for the extra bay in FS2 would be to put a foam unit or satellite unit there.
