  1. Can't add photo's to a post already made so sorry for the double post.

Here are a few shots of the new map, rettungstier is still working on finishing touches. This is the top right corner of the map that features the Trans Canada highway and 160th St.Units are lamod and are added just for looks.

The map will be mostly residential and commercial with no industry.3 fire halls, ambulance station and hospital.

It looks awesome, great job so far retungstier!!

Wow, what a great post to come back to after a holiday! Looks great so far. Will there also be a police station?

  2. Charger is looking sweet guys.

Goog, you mentioned just releasing the mod without a map. I think this would be a good idea if you are really struggling to get the map going. I've been playing around with gimp, it seems like it would be pretty easy to go in and change a few skins (flags, signs, billboards etc) to make it better reflect the area. I know you guys like to go all out with realism but I think this could be a possible temporary solution until you get everything how you want it. I'm having trouble converting .dds files but if I can figure this out I could probably help

  3. Great work on the mod guys. Runs like a dream for me...no problems yet!

One thing I did notice- I had a fire on the ground zero site, and the fire fighters couldn't access it. They could get in the opening of the fence but not much further. Otherwise I've had no major issues, I'm not sure why it isn't working for so many people.

  4. I'm just curious, Does having realistic, authentic lights affect your gameplay performance positively because the presence motivates you to play your role in-game realistically as if was a real life situation? Does it give you a thrill of excitement because it almost looks real at night?

Do you feel stastified with the light jobs that we have made, because they look nearly identical to the actual LED lights that you would see on your hometown emergency services fleet? For research, give us your input on this.

Well, I've never seen lights as realistic as these so its hard to say :P . I don't think I actually realized how realistic they were until you released these videos. But I can imagine playing with your perfect lights combined goog's perfect skins, and yeah, it is exciting to say the least.

    Great work as always guys

  5. So guys after months of trying to get the dispatching voices of actual events to work I have come to a in pass. There are two reasons for this. One Surrey RCMP went to P25 encripted a few years back which means that you can no longer hear them on a scanner inless you have a surrey police radio (good luck getting one of those.) So trying to get old radio traffic unfortantly doesn't work.

And Two it hasn't been working out as well. I am not quiet sure what the problem is. So maybe one day it might work.

    Sorry guys.

You can find a link to the Kelowna RCMP scanner, which seems to be the most active out of the few that are available.

  6. Great, Will be a hole new map?

Yes. Look through the thread and you'll find they have said this many times. Its currently a wip.

What's the PD station gonna look like?

I have no idea if they are basing that or the fd stations off their real life counterparts. This is the current Surrey RCMP bulding, but it is soon going to be replaced. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b9/City_of_Surrey_RCMP_HQ_(July_2009).jpg

As Goog1967 said, the map is still under development. I`m sure they will update with screens once they have something to show for.

Someone isn't very good at estimating release dates....

    :stupid2:

Who cares, they kick ass at modding. The models are done, and they decided to include a map so obviously thats going to take more time.

  7. I can't remember who I heard talking about this but it was a reputable source, it would cause more harm than good to do this because all the cars driving around follow preset paths, if they were scripted to say move off the road when an emergency vehicle was behind them it'd force them off of these paths, and them trying to get off and back on to these paths would just make them go crazy. So basically you'd just have cars all over the place anytime you sent out a unit on a code run. Maybe there's a way to get around it with the scripting or the way the paths are set up but I couldn't tell you how that would be able to happen.

I completely agree, but ya like you said I'm assuming whoever it was figured out the path issues

  8. If I may point out, In L.A Mod you can select a police cruiser and pull over a civilian vehicle of your choice, however there really is no scripting for the officer to get out of the car, do a alchohol test, and if the guy blows the legal limit then the cop would take the guy/girl out of the car, cuff them, and put them in the cruiser. In L.A Mod you get the officer getting out of the car, but doesnt do anything.

Sorry I meant like pulling over to the side of the road when vehicles are going code 3, since its the law here. But ya you are right, it would be cool to improve traffic stops

  9. Looking forward to seeing that! :D

I have a question- Not doubting your guys' abilities in any way but we all know maps take a long time (especially when you want to add new features like you guys do). Just wondering if we end up at Jan 1 with the map still in progress, will you guys release without the map or push the release date back to finish it.

Sorry I know its still a long ways away, and you prob haven't even thought about this. Hopefully not breaking 'the rule' here.

  10. Trust me they don't wear their turn out gear inless they are informed to, and they do respond to medical aid automaticly. In the City of Vancouver (this includes surrey and all districts) Fire Departments beat BCAS to the scene 99% of the time.

Oh ok. I guess I've seen them wearing turnout pants for stuff like mva medicals. Good thing we have real firefighters to consult lol :P . And ya I've heard BCAS can be slow sometimes

  11. Speaking on behalf of my department, we never aid BCAS unless there is a MVA, the paramedics ussaly do all of the medical while we support the patients neck or hand the paramedics the medical equipment. when we are first on the scene we can stabalize a patient, apply bandages, secure etc, but most of the work is done by paramedics. I should also add firefighters and paramedics can have a hard time getting along with each other because we have different proceduers. Back on topic, our department always reasponds in full turnout gear for an MVA or a fire, It is ussaly only the captain or chief's that reaspond to an incident without turnout gear, but they have their gear in the back of the truck and can put it on if need be.

P.S: Hope I have made it a little more clear, every Department has different standards and different procedures to be followed, I am not sure of surreys, but I hope this still helps.

I have listened to the Surrey Ecomm scanner a fair bit, and they regularly attend medical calls. I'm pretty sure there's a mixture in terms of uniforms, usually probably just the uniform but I dont think turnout pants are uncommon for a medical call.
