  1. Just want to thank you for your responses!
  2. Thanks for point me in that direction! I was able to find the file (LA Mod). Probably just a little trial and error, but any helpful hints on how 6.4f translates to the XML speed? I'm interested in the patrols going just slightly faster so they are about the same speed as regular vehicle traffic. I also feel like my vehicles go back to the station much faster than they go when they are dispatched. Any thoughts?
  3. Can someone point me in the direction of where to edit the patrol speed? It doesn't seem to be in the XML file for the unit. There are some other files with speeds that I'm not sure what the control... maybe one of these? For example... Units > Vehicles > Police 010STW 020MTW (and a few others) Thanks in advance!
  4. If the vehicle existed, the user could always choose whether or not to have it as an option. So, for the purests who are deadset on solely haven't LA vehicles, maybe they wouldn't make it available. For me, who's just looking for realistic American vehicles, I'd welcome the unit. It would have more versatility for me than the current ladders.
  5. I few times playing free play, I've notices I don't have as many vehicles as I should for example, it says 1 of 2 chargers is in use, but it's no where to be seen. I've had this happen to fire apparatus, too, but not too often. I finally saw it happen firsthand. I had some police incident near the top of the map by the large barge. I sent a standard police car and a dodge charger to arrest the suspect. The car was closest and got to the incident first, arrested the suspect, and then I put him in the car. Meanwhile, the charger shows up. With no one to arrest (suspect in car), I watched the car exit the map in the upper left corner. The charger was no where to be found, but instead of the going to 0/2, it still said there where 1/2 available. Just found it interesting that I actually saw the vehicle leave the map all by itself without being commanded to do so.
  6. My trucks are only staffed with 2 FFs each. I empty the trucks in house 1 and send one or two to the parking lot with the cars. Sometimes I'll call a tender or two depending how things are progressing. I use the rapid deploy for all trucks on the scene. Sometimes I'll manually direct them what to extinguish. I can usually tend to the victim or lift them and drop in a less dangerous location for my ambulance crews to work on. I generally find the ladder truck useless in the game, which sucks. But I sometimes call it to the scene for the extra FFs and stick them to a truck with a hose. Usually I have it staging down the road if I call it at all. I will sometimes call the USAR squad and stage. I will sometimes use those units on a fire, too. As you can see, I vary the way I deal with the scene, but definitely getting something to the parking lot in back is important to keep it from spreading. Get the FFs on hoses right away. The more water the better. It's a hot fire, so I'd also recommend getting your police to block the roads nearby (you could use the trucks for this, too, but I think using the police is more realistic).
