  1. i dont know how i can write in englisch therefore i write in german

als ich die ny submod installiert habe und spielen wollte konnte ich keine einheiten alamieren. ist das normal?

you got to be kidding me ......

so I will translate it for the rest here

after installing the ny submod I am unable to alert my units ..... is this normal?

fuer den schreiber - nein eigentlich sollte das nicht normal sein aber auch ich werde die antworten abwarten muessen um das fuer dich zu klarifizieren

ich frage mich wie du hier klarkommst wenn es bei dir am englishen hapert

  2. you people should come down and give him a break .....

I mean there are major game releases full of bugs and you can be happy if even one at all answers your requests for help ....... so please give him a break and give him some room to analyze the bugs and sort them out ....

as far as I am concerned I would also suggest to take the file for the time being offline in order to get things sorted ....

a couple of days waiting time is a small price to pay for a good mod

  3. I am not quite sure what all the talk about the LA Hazmat and the NY Hazmat is but the facts are like this ......

LAFD Hazmat = Pierce Arrow XT

    FDNY Hazmat = Ferrara Igniter

the FDNY used to have a 2006 ( or maybe a 2007 ) Pierce Arrow XT for Rescue 1, which replaced the E-One Salisbury but Ferrara won a bit to replace R1-R5 with their vehicle

  4. even though the discussion about the matter of release now or later was almost done I have to say .... don't let anyone push you either way

you and your team put a lot of effort and work into the whole project and therefore you and your team should decide when it's ready to be released

  5. as far as I understand is this quite a difficult task.....

the civilian cars have a predefined path and within this path there are certain "go/hold" switches and certain "if" switches ... or so called trigger events

    for clarity :

    - traffic-lights in the predefined path will show red or green ( go/hold )

    - another vehicle within that path ( either crossing or standing in its way ) will always trigger "hold" and as soon as the obstacle is gone it will trigger "go"

    - any redirecting ( cones, vehicles with directional lights, police officers ) will result in an "one time only" if event ..... if something is showing a new direction the vehicle will select another predefined path

    problems :

    - none of the above will ever result in an actual lane change rather than "go ahead if possible again" or "select another path if advised"

    - as soon as a vehicle is unexpectedly forced to a diagonal "hold" it will result in most cases in a " dead hold " .... I assume this is happening because the vehicle is sitting in between two different predefined path's or the vehicle cant establish that the traffic light did switch again and for some reason thinks that the light shows red ( this happens usually when turning from one road into another and the vehicle gets stopped within this process due to a traffic jam or something like this )

    - the biggest problem and in my opinion the only way to get this done is utterly impossible at the same time .... if you would give civilian cars the same ability to go around obstacles like the emergency vehicles you will have a constant crisscrossing as soon as they spot any kind of obstacle.....now you might think o.k that's fine because that is what we wanted but you have to keep in mind that this sort of rerouting around obstacles even with the emergency vehicles sometimes result in very erratic behavior .... so put this now onto the civilian vehicles and the resulting grid lock is nothing like you ever seen before

I might be wrong but as far as I see this I am almost certain that this will not be possible ....

  6. I am almost certain that I get warned or told off for saying so but in my opinion you got more pressing issues than some non compliant civilian traffic in a game .

My advise would be ..... get outside , get some fresh air and interact with real life .... have a look around how people communicate and how silly some drivers are - now have a laugh , sit down and read what people wrote in the traffic thread and reconsider your standing towards a computer game .....

By now , I guess , you get my point .... this is only a game and stop acting or talking like a kid which lost his candy ...... even my 14 year old god-daughter knows the difference and knows that talking like that is flat out wrong

  7. I thought that's what plug buggies were for.

yeah you are right but have a look at this ....... this is basically the same

    Dozer Tenders:

    Figure 5-C - Dozer tender

Dozer tenders are utility vehicles used along side dozers when working on fire lines. They carry additional equipment necessary for brush firefighting operations, and also serve as a maintance vehicle for dozer work.

    http://lafd.info/index.php?title=6/1_APPARATUS#.05_Tractor_Transports.2C_Dozers.2C_Loaders.2C_Dozer_Tenders.2C_Water_Tender

therefore I assume that the USAR Tender serves the same purpose

  8. Hey I've got a bit of an issue.... I installed 911:First Responders, V2.0, and then the patch 2.02, but the game crashes to desktop after I try to launch Freeplay. I mean Freeplay loads, and then once it gets to the end of the taskbar and it goes to launch, it crashes to desktop. Any ideas?

I don't have an answer right away but you should attach your " logfile " and your " dxdiag " so we can have a look at it in order to rule certain problems out

  9. The game shows a 3D preview of vehicles in the purchase menu. The freeze might be related to that, so I suggest you should take a look at your videocard drivers. If that doesn't work, see if it also crashes without a mod. Just to rule out the Los Angeles Mod.

You don't need a high-end computer to run this game. The game just isn't optimalized perfectly, so even on the best computer it can cause problems and tons of them have been reported on the forums. Only a handful of them are related to the Los Angeles Mod. Anyway, while a lot of newer games might run great on your computer, the forest fire mission in the LA Mod still has a habit to cause some lag for example.

    hey hoppah,

after reading for hours through different sites this seems to be a problem neither related to your mod nor any other alterations......the problem seems to be rather in the programming of the ATi drivers in conjunction with Win7 & Bootcamp .....

Win7 seem to call the shots by assuming a different hardware than the actual installed one .... so this I will try to figure out .....

Currently I did a trial and error driver install in order to rule things out ..... odd enough the driver in my dxdiag seems more troublesome than the version before , because after I did a rollback to the previous version the problem seems to be gone ( but for now I would not hold my breath ) but the 3D preview trouble seems to be solved but still far away from being stable ......

what still puzzles me is the fact that the unmodified version did not crash ( therefore I assume that the out of the box version is less detailed and less demainding because of fewer vehivles and less graphical details .. ... only a wild guess )

so next step will be trying entirely different drivers ........

    I will keep you posted

  10. so my problems with crashing the system keeps going on

    first my specs

    iMac i7 quadcore 2,8 GHz , 16GB Ram , ATi 4850 ......... win7 x64 in a bootcamp environment , all current drivers

I have enclosed the dxdiag and the dxdiag 64 as well as the logfile

    - Modern Warfare 2 runs without any problems for hours

    - Wolfenstein runs for hours without any trouble

    - 911 FR 1.03F US runs in freeplay without any trouble

now I have installed the LA Mod 2.0 plus the two patches and when I am within the vehicle purchase screen ( command or control panel I assume ) the game freezes !

when I quickly ctrl/alt/del out of this than I can see some error message that my ATi Card stopped responding and has recovered from this error but I have to take the game offline with the task manager .

I can call vehicles onto the map via police officer or the battalion chief but as soon as I call a tow truck for example the game locks up .... sometimes it does not happen but 8 out of 10 times it will happen .... this is really frustrating and annoying cause I don't get it .... the normal version does not have the problems and all other games neither so why does this one keeps giving me so much trouble ?

  11. I got ya. I dont think there will be need for other submods added to this as it contains just about every submod. It just needs a few changes to a few files to enable them. As for PRL, it will be mostly compatible, but not 100%. I would say it is about 90%, but most of the lighting comes from PRL with some additional work by occram and NewFoundKing. A few units are alterations of there work. For example BC1 uses the same lightbar lighting occram put on it, however I removed the rest of the lights. occram also did the EMS supervisor SUV which is pretty much the same truck. So I removed the lightbar lighting from that truck, leaving the other lights in place. Then I merged them with the lightbar lights occram originally put on the BC. Another such example, CFD updated the SWAT SUV for me. He has not released this unit as part of PRL yet, but I imagine this will be released in his next up date. There was a steady burn and blue flasher near the rear view mirror. I removed the blue flasher and left the steady burn. There were lights placed on the tailgate. I moved these down and placed them on the license plate. The lights are nothing like those used in the light pack I released awhile ago. The units mostly have PRL look to them that hsould keep PRL fans happy, but included other changes to.

I am heading off for one more quick test, and then I have to go through and remove the unchanged files.

And for install instructions, for the most part ShaneGreens instructions from his submod seem to have worked well, so I admit to stealing this and altering it as needed:p

that sounds pretty good and straight forward to me ...... just lets hope others will see it the same way ;-)

I am quite impressed by your effort :-)

  12. No offense taken, but your stating the overly obvious here. I am going to look in to scripting an installer over the coming days, but for now I am trying to release this with out an installer for now, but still manage to accomplish a simple to install method.

lol no wait ..... the offense part was not a shot into your direction rather than towards the ones who keep asking or not able to implement the submods / alterations without getting stuck or blowing their installation into oblivion

I am almost certain that the most common question will be if they need or not need Hoppas LA Mod , Hoppas Patches and the PRL and so on .....I am sure you are getting my point ;-)

  13. I'll upload it here very soon, but I there are 3 bugs I can not fix atm.

    1. The tiller blows up easily. Looking in to a fix for this.

    2. The Large Rescue Ambulance and the SWR Truck will not return to there parking spots properly. If this poses a problem you can move them or send them back to base.

Thats the only thing I can think of atm. Going to work on a list of changes and install instructions.

I am not trying to offend anyone here but I guess your best bet would be to write a short point by point tutorial about the installing procedure , to avoid being swamped by questions about how to and in what order you have to install different things in order to receive the best possible and desired result ....

    just my two cents

BTT - I am looking very much forward to this new mod of yours

  14. Just FYI, we are working on this still, but progress may be a bit slower over the next few days as I try to get my head together after being in a traffic accident today. It was enough to likley total my truck and has left my already bad knee, neck and back, in worse shape then it already was.

don't worry so much about the mod

hope you will be better soon and are glad that not more happened to you ....... I feel bad about the shape of your neck/back and knee , as well as your truck
