  2. Long story short, I think Mike broke his computer, and he hasn't really gotten around to fixing it. He's been busy being a super spy and shit. Hoppah is busying hopping around Netherlands, and, well most of my work is the finishing touches, or the ground work, (literally) so I'm not of much use without the team

reminds me of the fact that life is not all play ..... hope you guys get your stuff sorted out

  3. Then how do they hook up to standpipes? I have never heard of a department not using them. We use them like their used in game sometimes to split 3 inch supply hose into 1 3/4 handlines, on the smaller connections of hydrants to flush air and on standpipes to gate off into two handlines. Just to name a few.

wow, can't imagine they don't use 'em oO

and yes Dyson is right....the FDNY does not use the "gated wye"

  4. great progress and where is control pamel in the EMS station?

can we download this mod in parts or whole modification? how big is whole mod?

somewhere further up Dyson mentioned at least 600 mb for the buildings and now you have to count on top of this all other stuff .....

  5. Great Job, So much better then the other New York Mod

 some people just keep bashing other peoples stuff ....

they are entirely different and I don't think that one is better than the other .... there goes a lot of work in either one, that is what should be appreciated rather than to put other peoples effort on the spot!!

beside the fact that this is the "Manhattan Mod" and the other one is the "New York" mod .... meaning that this one here is only a part ( borough ) of NYC.

  6. just been looking over the forums, pretty amazing to say I've come so far from this... em42010101820540679.png

    :')

either I am to stupid to understand this or the folks who answered in regard to this post got it the wrong way...

because I do understand from this, that he is quite happy about the way his work evolved from the work shown above ( which was still quite nice ) to what he accomplished by now with his recent work

  7. They were (unfortunately) a few issues we had after compiling the submod, the snow was a temporary map and the units stuck in houses etc were due to some last minute un tested changes we made that messed up...

Like I'm constantly echoing throughout all these pages, 2.3 was rough, real rough, MM 3.0 is gonna be polished :D

thx a lot for your answer ..... but even more for your effort

I am looking very much forward to the release of 3.0

  8. first I have to clarify that this is no complaint at all and I am honest enough to admit that I did not read the whole 164 pages ...... so if this was already answered please be kind and just let me know

finally I got around to install 2.3 and it looks really great ..... the snow, the vehicles and so on but there are two possible bugs

    - why are some engines are not able to leave the firehouse ( hazmat and rescue1 ) ?

    - there are two NYPD vans where the front axle is out of proportion ( looks like a bigfoot ) and the front doors are missing

i did only install the original game, LA Mod 2.1 and the 2.3 Manhattan....

    did I do something wrong?

    thx

  9. I think Kermit has reason, another example is Vietnam, more than 60.000 american fallen, 1.000.000 of Vietnamese soldiers casualty, and these all without counting the other countries fallen soldiers, apart from more 2.500.000 civil, from all the sides and killed by both armies, and we watch movies and play video games about it, without saying nothing.

    But...let's back to topic.

That ship looks great, nice work :12:

yeah.... you are right about this :-(

BTT - the recent additions look very nice ....well done

  10. I totally agree with that, but I don't understand, why almost every American (correct me if I'm wrong) on this forum, says they don't want a mission of 9/11, but they enjoy playing call of duty? In a world war (I don't want to compare ww2 and 9/11), that was really worse, where more civilians lost and medal of honor, where you play the American hero in Afganisthan, where also harmless civilians are killed. And not want to play 9/11?

    Just think about it.

having thought about this there is only one answer .... 9/11 was a coward and unprovoked act directed towards innocent civilians

    - ww2 is kind of different because it was directed towards a utterly nuts dictator and his regime.....beside the fact that this freed lots of jews and broke the grip the hitler regime had on europe.

    - afghanistan is sort of difficult to answer and might be seen as a useless war without any cause but at the end of the day the taliban did have the option of handing over the al qaeda leaders and eventually stepping down themselves after destroying cultural history, oppressing women and girls and supporting terror camps.

no don't get me wrong I am no friend of war but sometimes you can only fight fire with fire....

I don't want to reenact or play something what I experienced first hand and destroyed so many lives .... right then and there or in the aftermath.

Oh and before I forget a very important fact .... us forces ( regardless during ww2 or as part of the isaf ) are not going about to kill civilians on purpose ( yeah I know there is the one or other case where this happened ) and do not consider mass killings of civilians on purpose as a appropriate measure of warfare!

  11. i saw on youtube that a 2o mission of the emergency4 series was the plane crash at the airport but now in ny mod is 9/11

I am not sure if I understand you right but if so than you are still looking at the same game .....

    - 911 First Responders is the name given to the game for the North American market

    - Emergency4 is the name for the game at the European market

  12. This isn't an LA Mod submod, this is a stand-alone mod. Use the Mod Installer to install it.

I assume you were quite tired when you wrote this ;-) or we all start to see the always returning remarks about installation issues or questions if this is a la-submod....hence we are answering like shooting from the hip "this is no submod" ;-)

this was nothing about installing anything rather than a remark that he tried to make the fire-boat like that within the la-mod and failed........

  13. What is that?

    you are kidding right?

7Zip and WinRAR are packaging tools to reduce the size of any given file ( so to put less strain on the available download channel, to reduce the overall size a file would otherwise take )

these are quite common and widely used....I find it hard to believe that you never stumbled across these while hanging around on the WWW

anyways...you will find below the links to this tools

    http://www.rarlab.com/

  14. Am I the only one who thinks high risers are the ugliest thing you can put on a cop car? In the game I hardly use the HWY units and if I do I usually skip to the slicktop units

yeah but some things are not to be considered "pretty" rather than being an option to enhance visibility and increased safety

I do have to say for myself that there was the odd occasion when I spotted the high-riser sooner than the rest of the flashing lights on a stationary unit during daytime .... beside the fact when spotting the high-riser you can be certain that the unit is not in motion even seen from a distance

  15. And FDNY ambulance return to hospital, not station

    exactly...

there were some plans a while ago to merge EMS and FF but there was a lot of opposition from the FF Union as well as from the EMS Union...partially due to the nature of their work structure

FF usually work as a "dependent team" where one relies on the other and strictly work in form of a command level structure...

EMS are supposed to work as independently as possible

on top of this there is some sort of envy towards the FF from the EMS because of the higher public attention and public acknowledgement of the sacrifices and hard work of the FF even though that EMS work under the same difficult and dangerous conditions

having said this does not mean that EMS and FF will not work on a very professional level together and share close friendships

  16. nobody is questioning that the USCG is present in the NY area and even got their own units right there in order to perform maritime safety and security operations or assist in any sort of water related problems but there is no air unit based..having said this there are air units assigned to the NY area but they operate from the air station atlantic city
