  1. Page 220.

Hey Dyson, are you going to include the LAFD Heavy tow truck? This could be a good use -and reskin- for it, MTA tow truck:

The MTA tow truck is litteraly a tow truck, there is nothing like the LAFD heavy rescue in New York City. If they need a crane, they litterally call a crane.

  2. I don't like the new Ferrara's. they're too cramped in the back.

In terms of the body, it should be identical to the Pierce rescue. The FDNY is one of the few departments that has the power to completely spec out their trucks on litteraly everything, including size, the amount of shelves in a compartment, etc.

  3. Stop giving members a hard time for wanting a release date, this thread first came in August 2010. It's your very own choice to go public with your development, so for the grace of her majesty suck it up or stop doing everything in public.

It's like telling hungry people you're making them food, yet you only show them pictures of the food you're making and when they ask for when it's done you slap their fingers. That is not right in my opinion.

Also, it's against the TOS to ask about release dates, so I wouldn't start with that unless you want a warning/ban

  4. Everything continues to looks amazing as usual.

As for the blue light...Probably a deliberate cosmetic change to distinguish the truck. Just like the FDNY trucks with Qs, and the worst is E-43's black stripe. There is also an exemption in the traffic law where a commissioner can wave the rules for blue lights.

For those that don't know, when used in US fire services the green light is traditionally used to signify a command unit.

As for the commissioner's exception, read the law very carefully, it says "the commissioner", which under NYC vehicle and traffic law is defined as the commissioner of motor vehicles, and has nothing to do with any fire commissioners, so technically, the blue light on the squad is illegal.

In the case of the green command light, that's actually a new nationwide thing. In New Yrok it's a little weird since my local vfd is getting their new cheifs' cars with a green light on them but my ambulance corps also runs green lights as a courtesy light, so now we have multiple agencies running vehicles with green lights for different purposes and it gets a little confusing.I have seen a few of the NYPD mobile command posts outfitted with a green strobe beacon on the roof.

  5. Yeah, we've really been trying to monitor traffic flow, we diabled traffic lights in order to avoid Em4's terrible traffic light system from causing HUGE tailbacks. We also have the map built around avenues. Most of these are one way and feature a fire lane, so again this means there is less traffic build up. The only place you ever get jams is at Times Square. This is only because if you have a bomb or fire in TS all the peds run out into the road... Then we all know how great Em4 is when it just leaves those people there for the entire game -_-

So yeah traffic shouldn't be any issue, we've also removed the Devil command that is redirect. Therefore the only way you get tailbacks is if you create them when blacking the road. So using common sense... one lane as soon as possible, then restore the traffic flow :)

We also have speed controls when responding. We recommend when in traffic (or by defauly) setting it to slowest. This speed is the same as the traffic speed, so the Engines wont overtake in their weird way, but instead, more realistically, will follow behind traffic until there is room to overtake, then you up the speed. :)

Hope this eplains the system :)

The new speed control system sounds awsome.

  6. Most recent video looks great. Out of curiousity are there going to be a set number of patrol route like in the LA mod?

Yes because 1) each patrol route is a path laid out in the editor and I don't think the mod team want's to spend ours mapping out every conceivable patol route and 2) it's physically impossible to have an infinite number of patrol route.

Great work on the mod so far guys.

  7. When I try to download the mod, it want's me to download a download manager program first, do I have to do that, or if I go to the emergency4.nl site (which I did and I couldn't figure it out) can I just download the mod without downloading the download manager?

  8. Rafael

I saw the Battalion/Radio Commands video and it looks pretty cool. Out of curiousity what kind of units are link to each radio command, or will it just match the LA mod's original commands? Like for the Mass Cal will a MERV unit be called or will it be an additional ambulance? In any case the comms are still a pretty cool addition. Good luck with the remainder of the mod.

I believe they're doing the standard FDNY alarms up through a fifth alarm.

  9. We had a choice of either

    http://graphics8.nyt.../08lens.533.jpg

or turnout gear. Seens as 90% of EMS calls are on the street we deemed it over the top for EMS to respond bunker gear to a colapsed person. EMS will usually stage outside the fire in the mod and R1 will do primary search, rescue and stabilization.

    Hope this answers the question.

Okay, gotcha, I forgot you guys were doing Rescue 1 as an ALS unit, my fault. Quick question though, will we be able to control what staffing each unit has by simply putting by putting those units in the rig, or will it be predetermined how each rig is staffed, like when you use the alarm script in the LA mod?

  10. One quick thing I saw in the video, the medic should have tan turnout gear, not black. And before anyone starts in with telling me to stop telling them what to do and have I ever tried to make a mod and that I shouldn't make suggestions, I volunteer to chance the color of the medic and the EMTs turnout gear to tan if you guys want to send me the skins so there's no extra work involved for you guys.

  11. Hi guys. First and foremost the various videos and pics of this mod are awesome and I'm really looking forward to playing it.

One question though, and if I'm already covering a topic discussed or I'm on the wrong page to ask this I apologize.

My version of the base game is a digital copy I downloaded off of amazon. Will the mod be compatible with digital copies or will I need to get a disc copy of the game?

Again the mod looks great and can't wait until the finish product comes out.

any copy of the game that is legal, such as a copy from amazon will have the em4 mod installer. That's all you need to install any mod, so in short, yes, the mod will work with your version of the game.

  12. Hi everyone, has anyone had success adding the Rescue 2 model for the New York Brooklyn Modification to another mod? As far as I can tell, they only included the files for the models folder, leaving out the files for the prototype, lang, and spec folders, making it essentially impossible to install without the missing files. has anyone has figured out how to move this model into a mod?

  13. Rescue 1 personnel will also be able to rapidly switch between No turnout gear/Turnout Gear/Diver/Hazmat along with being able to administer full ALS first aid along with all the usual equipment.

Squad 18 also still serves a key role even though it would seem it would be no match for the Rescue, the Squad can also spawn Hazmat personnel, but also more importantly controls the decon tent.

Therefore the two units, very similar in roles, have very different roles when it comes to Hazmat. Rescue company can be used to treat infected people and stabilize them, ready for the squad personnel to collect and decontaminate the people.

This should mean both units are still needed in game :)

Two quick things I wanted to point out. 1) FDNY rescue companies support squad companies on haz-mat jobs, and the squads support the rescues on dive jobs, so really, the rescue company guys shouldn't have the haz-mat option. 2) no FDNY company outside of the ems division is running anything other than as cfrs, so the rescue companies wouldn't be doing ALS. Just wanted to point them out in case you weren't aware of this. The mod is amazing though, and I'm looking forward to when you guys fully complete it.

  14. Thats why I said 5 alarms in each tower which is actually what happened if you listen to the full audio tape of the manhatten radio channel on 9/11 you will only hear the assignment go up to 5 alarms in each tower.

Technically yes there were only 5 alarms requested, but by that point, communications were so fu*ked up that it was pretty much "get on the truck and go" for most companies across the city and the surrounding areas. Also, I'm sure there was at least a 10-60, a 10-66, and a 10-80 code 4, which is at least a 5th alarm worth of equipment if not more. Now, :1046276160_schildbacktotopic:

  15. thats not the case, for example on Tuesday may 22nd a 10 alarm fire was called in Brooklyn after a series of warehouses caught fire, during major fire's its common for alarms to exceed five, i'm sure far far more alarms were called on 9/11 infact a dispatcher on duty that day describes the loss of fire fighters and equipment as "10 alarms worth"

A fifth alarm is the highest alarm the FDNY has in terms of preplanning. A sixth alarm and higher is 4 engines and 2 ladders, so they're not considered a traditional alarm way a 1st through 5th alarm would be.

  16. Why do you post new stuff in the wrong place????

Why is this in the wrong place? If you read the first post, he was looking for a mod that he used to have that delayed calls for him. Since we didn't know what he was talking about, we just told him how to do it by himself. Where else should he have put it?

  17. Open Notepad, click file>open>computer>C:>program files>WizardWorks>911-First Responders. If you are looking to slow down calls for the main game, then click "Data", and if you're trying to slow down calls for a mod, then click "Mods", and then the mod you want. Once in the correct folder, click "specs", at the bottom of the window, there should be a bar that says "Text Documents (*txt)", click it and change it to all documents. Choose "fp_params_endless" and double click it to open it. change the "MinDurationBetweenEvents value = "xx.xx"" and "MaxIdleDuration value ="xx.xx"" so that both values are both "200.0", this gives you an hour and a half of game time in between each call, which should be more than enough for most calls.

  18. Yeah very small patrols to avoid minimal jams, one in upper west, one in mid east (Manhattan not Iran) and one yet to be added in the south around Times Square.

We're currently adding the MERV 2 and an NYPD mobile command.

MERV will operate same as the Major Emergency Vehicle in the LA Mod.

    NYPD Mobile Command will...

Allow the purchase of PD officers (hopefully this only a concept atm)

Allow 9 rioters/criminals to be detained

Transport 9 officers to the scene.

Very nice, looking forward to this mod
