  1. Hi all,

I have recently had several enquiries regarding some alterations to the police and ambulance units that I have made on Los Angeles Mod v1.7 patch 3.

Hoppah has been kind enough to allow me to release these changes for those that wish to use them.

I have made up a zip file in the appropriate format so that once unzipped it can be copied directly into the Los Angeles Mod v1.7 folder (file size is about 1.2mb zip).

I have included all necessary changes to LA siren script, potraits, info, spec files, etc. to ensure that the units operate fully within the game (freeplay, multiplayer, missions)

    Listed additions and changes;

    1. added LAPD Patrol car 2 (102)

    2. added LAPD Patrol car 3 (103)

    3. added LAPD Patrol car 4 (104)

    4. added LAPD Patrol car 5 (105)

    5. changed LAPD slicktop number to 106

    6. changed CHP Patrol car number to 200

    7. changed ALS (RED) Ambulance 2 number to 101

    8. replaced LAX Ambulance with ALS (RED) Ambulance number 102

    9. replaced Vintage Ambulance with ALS (RED) Ambulance number 103

Note: LAX and Vintage Ambulances will no longer be available in game.

This version includes the LAX Ambulance and Vintage Ambulance for those who still want them included.

    Installation is simple.

Must have an unchanged version of Los Angeles Mod v1.7 - this was created using patch 3 version.

(if you have made changes to your version of the mod then these files may need to be altered to include your changes in order for those changes to continue to work)

    Suitable for Emergency 4 / Emergency 4 Deluxe / 911 First Responders

After unziping folder named Los Angeles Mod v1.7, copy the contents to your installation of Los Angeles Mod v1.7 located in your C:/..../Emergency4/mods.

    Allow to overwrite existing files.

Start the game, and off you go.

    Take care :1046275747_biggthumpup:

Nice eyecandy... but only one thing. If you really want to make this realistic... you fogot that the sherrif patrol is also numbers 106 just like the slicktop patrolcar. Not really a problem since there are 5 additional patrolcars but yeha I like to bitch sometimes :grinsevil:

  2. Not for this moment. I am working on a few things now. When they're done I will release more information.

Just have some patience. I have more things to do besides modding.

    Hoppah

Maybe they should know your secret....

People... for those who don't know. Hoppah actually is a living human been and has a life besides EmP.Quite a shock aint it. :prop:

  3. The police stations is indeed in the corner, but most of the time you have cars patrolling around ( well i have ;) ) so that should be a probem. The Firestation 1 is able the respond quite fast to all points and firestation 2 covers the inner city.

Only the villa's in the south area are little far away for the vehicles, but you can't have it all ;).

Sorry I didn't noticed the second fire station. my fault sorry. Well in that case you are right. And yes I also have cars patrolling the city so thats not really a big problem.

And about those villa's, it is more realistic if somethings the vehicles have to drive a bit longer before arriving at the scene.

  4. LA City FD uses yellow turnout gear.

Actually, I never noticed any black turnout gear in US FD. But i could be wrong.

Further.... Nice mod it's great i really like the new missions and BLS/ALS system. I only have to get used to a FF person with blue pants that does the word of the old EM4 basic paramedic. Anyhow works like a charm!

  5. No I have planned to do a USCG station, FBI HQ, Army HQ, LASD station, CHP station, 2 LACoFD stations, aircraft carrier base, impoud, jail and an underground parking lot to park 200 emergency vehicles.

What about Area 51, the White House, and adding a part of Baghdad to the city? I mean, there were some Germans who thought Baghdad is part of the USA now. Maybe I should make the island on the Deluxe map like Pearl Harbor. What about Guantanamo Bay????!11111lol :)

Come on Hoppah.... how could you forget the russian nuclear missle platorm. Shame on you :1046275873_shakehead:

  6. Many of us use FRAPS. Another way of doing it is to just use the print screen key, alt-tab and then paste in your favorite small imaging program, like the freeware and amazing Irfanview.

What's the advantage when you use FRAPS

  7. I don't find them slow. They patrol really slowly on freeplay, but during regular patrols, theres no urgency/need to go fast. But when you've got em going to a call with the lights and sirens, I find them to be pretty quick. For almost any sort of call where fire or EMS is required, I send LAPD after dispatching fire trucks or ambulances, and LAPD always gets there first. Partly because LAPD is already patrolling whereas LAFD has to raise an alarm at the fire station, but even otherwise, LAPD arrives first most of the time.

Indeed... and if someone wants to go schumacherstyle with the patrolcars, remember that you can set the speed of each unit. Somewhere in the mod at units and then in the XML file of each vehicle. Correct me if im wrong

  8. I was wondering if, using your race mission as an example, we could expand the mission to not just a wreck but many things. Sort of like freeplay only the race is your map. For example:

Mission starts early morning, you have to dispatch units to stand-by for an event.

Send 1 or 2 firetrucks, 3 ambulances, 3 cop cars. Set up in a certain "emergency staging area."

There could be a person suffering a medical emergency in the stands. A fire at the food stand. A racecar catches on fire, of course the big accident, a riot, fights. It could be based upon a 20 min time frame or something like that. I think it would utilize all your work you put into the map to have multiple incidents occur on it.

Let me know what you think.

Nice idea.... maybe if you split up this whole mission into several more detailed missions it would spare some loadingtime since you don't have to wait for the map with al the events cause they are splitted into several missions. And if you fail the 3th emergencycall you don't have to start from the begin again.

But that's just what I think... maybe it's better to do keep them on one missionmap.

  9. I have an idea for freeplay in v. 1.4 of the LA MOD.

What if we add to the firestation, in the same way, a brush truck and/or a Light Equipment Truck?

Every time theres a small car accident, i want to be able to send out eh LET (light equipment truck)

without having to call out the bigger fire engines. add it in the same way as you added the FireChief truck,

in a "parking" space near the outside. Ok, thats the first idea.

next, i want to congrat the idea for adding buttons to the control panel, where it sends out

1 paramedic, 1 stretcher team, or 1 firefighter. Ideas to add to that would be, add a

Diver Button to the control button, and a "call engineer" button...

Which brings me to my 3rd idea:

Can you make the engineer vehicle spawn at the firehouse with the other vehicles? even

if its not inside the garage, but in the same way as the firechief trck :1046275747_biggthumpup:

and Lastly, can you make it so that a extra ambulance that cant fit into the firestation after

the firehouse is full to go on patrol?

So far i think the mod is fantastic, keep up the good work. :1046275747_biggthumpup:

About the LET... Most of the time they will send an engine truck to an accident. That's just the way it works. But that's in real life. It would be a good idea if we had some smaller staitons so we can place some other vehicles around the map :1046275747_biggthumpup:
