I apologize for bumping this topic, but I live about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh and am a member of a volunteer fire company. If you're interested, I can get you pictures of my own apparatus at my station as well as surrounding areas + local police. I must warn you: My company's apparatus aren't the normal red/white. We're baby blue. Even so, if you'd like any pictures for reference, I'd be happy to send some your way. I truly hope this mod really comes together. I might also be able to help with texturing if needed.

To access the map, open editor. Load La Mod, and then load the freeplay map, from the drop down menu. As for scripting, sorry I don't know, I'm not a scriptor.

The last time I played LA MOD, which was last year, I fixed a reoccurring problem with traffic backups (I mean massive backups) by placing 2 traffic lights by the shopping center in the map. I since deleted the game and got a new computer and reinstalled it, but now I don't remember how to access the map file in the editor, nor how to properly script a traffic light. I remember the script had factors for the timing, and that was it. If anyone can help me first access the map file, then add the traffic lights, I'd greatly appreciate it, and give you a and a cookie.

PS, if anyone remembers me from last year, I know I had topics about this stuff, but they are all gone. So, I'll have to ask again.

Since there was a topic (Let Me See Your Skins) for models with skins, I made this. So lets see your Sketchup, ZModeler, or whatever you use models that you have made. I made a topic called "Google Sketchup" in the Modding and Modding Help section, but I wanted a place for everyone to post no matter what program. So enough chit-chat, let's see them models!

I will post my models soon, when I have the time because I've made a alot since last time I've uploaded. So, yeah...

Please be critics for people, so we can get feedback on our work.

Models I have made:

A Couple Cars, a Table and Chairs, a couple restaurants, a lightbar, and a few others.

I don't see any reason why the game would need more physics. It already has some. like in one of the freeplay maps, where a building is on fire with oxygen or gas tanks outside, once they catch on fire, then they ricochet off each other

So what are you trying to say? Is this a question, request, or notification? Surely no one would try and make their own video game/simulator because no one has the time anymore and they won't sit at their computer every single day after day after day and then they have to work with bugs.

They could've either raised the track or put a fence up along the track like in NASCAR or F1 racing.

I think personally it's terrible and inexcusable. Officials should have checked to make sure the ice was fine and that everything was save.

That's a good idea. I'll have to look into that. I've been looking for a site to download free decent textures to import in there, I'm sick of the stock ones.

Actually, you can make your own. You just have to find a picture or terrain (or texture)and edit it via any picture software that can save the file as a bitmap (.bmp).After that, you just need to open sketchup, and click the paint icon, then find the option to upload a texture. Sorry for the non-detailed directions... I haven't used sketchup in a couple days so I don't exactly remember

Along with that, I did the same for the road work model above; I copied a screen from google maps of a country club around my area then I did the said above.

Major Update: I've made a car and many many more models, but I deleted one because I thought I used too much of other people's content. But the car I made fully by myself, except for the spoiler and mirrors. Also, it looks like a mini cooper... when I was trying to make it an American sedan...

I made an ice-cream shack with a parking lot, drive through (like some Brusters) and a little area for eating.

Third, I found a Ford Ranger and edited it so it was a police vehicle. I used my most recent lightbar and other people's stuff.

Lastly, I made a highway section. I also made a few different versions of it that have road work and a crash

So, until I finish, please standby for pictures.

You are way more advanced with it than I am, crash scene with a car. Lol, I wouldn't even know where to begin sketching on that. Too detailed, lol, I can only sketch buildings

You and I both wish! I only download the models into my model from the 3D Warehouse; but I can make semi-good vehicles, they're just too crappy to put into my main models I show.

I finished that project and am not taking risks (as it crashing and I lose all progress)

You have done awesome work. I'd admire it. I'm working on getting better skilled with Sketchup, also.

After seeing this I was inspired.. Lol. So I messed around a little bit on Sketchup. A took the plan scheme you had on your LAFD and used it on a Missouri Highway Patrol. I just used a random color on the garage doors because I got lazy and I just made lazy windows on the garage.

Great work, I'm surprised that the server switch didn't delete any topics... It's kinda hard to find what you're looking for though...

I'm working on a crash scene where a car has crashed into a light pole. I'm making a pretty big map, so it will take a while guaranteed.

@randomperson: Yeah, but it didn't really work out so well. BTW, I just found the option to smooth edges, so I'll try that and see if my models look better...

Upon special events, I think they could've made an easter event: Making a bomb shaped like and painted like an egg.... Or on Dec 25 they could've made it so it snowed instead of rained or anything...

Well, surprisingly, I finished in less than an hour ago. So here are some pics.

I made the map itself, the gap it the road, the textures and terrains, and the pipes. I edited alot of things too, but mostly just size and color. Most things were made by Google, and others.
