Hi,
I just got done trying out the Harbor city mod, and I noticed none of the firestations have units in them. Is that normal? Are we supposed to call the units and then have them return to station? Just asking to make sure something is broke.
-
Ahh, okay! Thanks, both of you.

Hello,
In short, I downloaded the LA mod, but it's showing like this when I unzipped it.
When I click it, it, it asks me if I want to let it run on my computer. Considering the other mods didn't do this, I feel like something is wrong.
I downloaded the mod from here.

Go to Specs/ folder. Open the following files:
fp_params_endless.xml
fp_params_challenge.xml
Inside the xml's, there are settings for every freeplay event. Find the ones relating to fire and find this line:
<Enabled value = "1" />
Change that to 0 to disable the event.
Little bonus. If you want to get more points in freeplay from each event, go to the freeplayparameters.xml. Inside, you can edit how many points the game gives you upon completing an event in freeplay.
This is not working, oddly. I'm still getting fire callouts.

Remember that Freeplay parameters file that I mentioned previously? Go to the first part of it, among the first 20 lines. Find this:
<TimeSpeedFactor value="1.0"/>
Change that value to zero to make it permanently morning. Problem is though, you also need to change this setting:
<starttime value="8:30"/>
To make the game start at 12:00 noon for example. 8:30 might be a bit early for your taste, so you have pretty much free reign to have the mod start at 10am, 1pm, etc.
For some reason, that isn't working. I'm pretty sure I edited it right.
Edit: Should I also change these in the fp_params_endless file?
<TimeSpeedFactor value="0"/><starttime value="12:30"/> -
Go into freeplay_parameters.xml (I believe) and edit the time change factor to 0

Is there something in the parameters that disables time advancement? At night (in game), it's very hard for me to see anything.

So, the fires in EM4 always get out of control, and it's not worth it for me to mess with them.
I read we could disable fires/fire call outs in the parameters file. I managed to find some the fire commands in it, but I'm not sure exactly what I should change to disable fires all together.

You need the updated coronas pack... The Mayberry mod should already have them installed have a search on the forums you should find the link to them.
I JUST installed this mod a few hours ago...I didn't change anything, I just directly downloaded and dropped.
I downloaded from this page - http://www.moddb.com/mods/mayberry-mod-2014/downloads/mayberry-mod-single-player-v12
So it really shouldn't be missing the coronas or anything.
Edited to add: There's another issue. I've noticed Police cars are not spawning at the police station. I have to actually call them from HQ.

Hi,
I noticed the textures for siren lights are missing (using the Mayberry mod). The lights work on some vehicles, but don't on others.
Two, as seen here - http://i.imgur.com/PA8hgAx.jpg I was stuck. I could not figure out how to put out the fire. I had the technicians there assuming I needed them, but I could not click on anything. I had given a hose to a firefighter, connected to a hydrant, then the truck...am I supposed to do one last thing? -
Unless the music is really good (such as in Rocket League), I always turn off the in game music anyway. Since I'm still new to the Youtube thing, I make it a point to turn off music when recording. However, Rocket League and Life Is Strange were some exceptions.

And your Mister Superclever? Whats wrong with you man?? You don´t know anything about the problems EM5 has/had and what actually has changed to EM4.I like EM4 better then EM5 just because it is better. Better Editor, better for older computers, better Gameplay expirience, more open buildings and EM5 is waay to expensive and there is actually no big change in functionality in EM5 compared to EM4.I don´t want a nice new bling-bling GUI i want to see serious gameplay improvements. What i´ve expected would have been open buildings, more emergency vehicle variety and much more... And not a new editor. The old one was fine. I don´t need big improvements in something which has been good. Everything changed modding-wise and it is really difficult to actually re-learn everything you have been learning in the good old editor before. There are no big mods out right now and for example "Amsterdam Amstelland" Mod has damn good graphics and a very nice gameplay. I´d prefer that much over EM5. Its just commercial buisness and has nothing really to do with the community. Thats why i don´t swap.
I play EM5 on a daily basis. I've yet to run into any bugs or any issues. Meanwhile, I purchase EM4, install a mod, and right away run into an issue. I agree, EM5 is not worth its actual price, but it's not a bad game. You people need to get off your EM4 high horse and quit bashing a game simply because it's not EM4.
I guess you did not try the game when it first came out? It was a buggy mess that barely played on low on top of line systems. I had huge issues with em5. It was a buggy unfinished game. It only just became playable. heck when it launch there was no way to mod it. So maybe get your facts straight first.
My facts are straight. Yes, it was buggy when it first came out. Now, it's fine! The only time I have ever crashed was after I installed a couple mods and they conflicted with each other. EM5 is a finished product. Just because it doesn't have everything YOU want in it doesn't mean it's unfinished. Again, guess you're just unlucky. I've not experienced any bugs. Hell, I'm recording my EM5 playthroughs...no bugs.
I'm being honest when I say that Em5 has its issues, just as much as Em4 has its own.
Trouble is, the english speaking community isnt getting much support (note how all but one of the tutorial vids for Em5 are German), and more importantly, it isn't about us being "babies" but rather, we prefer to stay in Em4 for various reasons.
Some of us do not have PC's that can run Em5 (I am here), others don't have the coin and the prop to buy it, others still dont see it as a worthy upgrade despite all the hype that was given to it.
It isnt fair generalizing all Em4 modders as babies who refuse to move on to Em5. Its kinda sad when it suddenly becomes a requirement to move to the next game (see: GTAIV and GTAV) in terms of modding.
Most of us did not immediately write off Em5 for the reasons you stated. Most of us had an educated view and tried out the game before deciding it wasn't worth the hassle of having to re-learn everything we already know just for a game that hasnt lived up to the promise of "easy modding".
I personally couldnt run Em5 at all, so that automatically disqualifies me from modding Em5, but I do understand the reasons why many prefer to stay with Em4.
I respect modders, I do, but it's not fair to the people that bought EM5 and find out there is only a handful, literally a handful of people making mods for the game. Don't get me wrong, I love the mods I'm using, but I want an American mod. I want American apparatus. I'm SOL and have to buy EM4 again (and deal with its TERRIBLE graphics and camera movement system) just for that American apparatus experience.
-
Finally some action and love to that (honestly) bad game.
The only people I really see say that there are big issues with EM5 are EM4 fanboys who don't want to move forward. As someone who started the EM series with EM5 and is not biased, I've yet to experience any issues that make the game unplayable. My biggest gripes are that it's not properly optimized, and that EM4 modders are big babies and won't move to EM5 and support that game.
Really sad to see people trash talk EM5 just because it's not EM4.
-
Congrats, FrozenOne!
As much as I crave an American mod for EM5, your Dutch mod is perfect, and will hold me over. If you do release this car, I definitely plan to use it. I love the Dodge Chargers.
However, if you incorporate it in the Dutch mod, will it replace the Dutch police car and texture? or be a separate, standalone car?

Hey Arariel,
Thanks for your enthusiasm!
If you downloaded the modification you should now have a 'NL Modification v2.0.zip' file on your computer. Upon opening the file with WinRar or 7-zip you should see a ReadMe file and another .zip-file called dutch_modification. The 'dutch_modification.zip' should extracted to an easy reachable place on your computer because this is the file you'll have to drag and drop onto the modifications tab after you launched the game (just launch the game but don't click 'Start Game' yet) The ReadMe file goes much more into detail when in comes to the installation method. I'd advise you to open the ReadMe file and scroll to page 5 where I put the installation notes.
Let me know if it worked out for you

Hey FrozenOne!
After playing a bit, I have to say that I'm really loving your mod! The textures are amazing, and I'm in love with the new features, especially cops having guns. I NEEDED THIS!!!
Thank you so much for your hard work. This will definitely be a permanent texture mod I use!

I thought it was just a simple drag and drop, but I got confused because I saw the ZIP file when in RAR Extractor, but completely missed that it was the actual ZIP file I needed. XD Thanks, I got it. I unfortunately can't give it a test run right now, but I'll let you know how it is later.
Thanks!

No problem, thank you very much for looking into it, I appreciate it
Hey FrozenOne! Been waiting for this to be approved ever since seeing Alex using it.
How exactly do we install this one? I'm assuming drop a folder into the Emergency 5 folder, but which one?
-
Never mind, I figured out it was a mod confliction.
Too Bad I Don't Have Em5 I Just Got Em4, I Can't Help You. Wait For A Staff/Mod Owner!
Then why did you even post if you can't help? Why did you even post if you don't own the game? *shakes head*

Hello,
I've been using the unlimited units mod for a while now, and it has worked fine. This morning when going to play, I noticed it's no longer working. The only mod I downloaded recently was for better tow truck lighting. I disabled that mod, yet it still won't work. I even tried downloading the latest version of the mod.
-
Hello everybody,
This mod allows you to get unlimited emergency vehicles/units. This can be extremely helpful in certain missions or a freeplay event.
Hey there,
For some odd reason, your mod started to conflict with the "unlimited units" mod. It was working fine a few days ago.
-
Thanks for the detailed information. It's a veeery strange crash and I can't reproduce the same one, though I just fixed a crash when sending back vehicles. Was the police car transporting a criminal?
You're welcome. Yes it was.
-
No, I always update the first post, so that's the newest version. But maybe you downloaded it before I updated? Can you post the error message?
Just to make sure, I went back and downloaded your mod again, and it was working for a while until I tried to send back several police cars. I got two sent back, but when I sent the third, it crashed.
and I downloaded the full thing for you.
-
Aaargh not again Did you use the new version I uploaded yesterday? I can't reproduce the crash sadly. It was reported before on the German forums, but I thought I fixed it. Make sure you have updated the game to version 1.4.1, too.
I downloaded the one linked in your opening post. If that one is old, please link me to the newest version. I didn't see a link in your post that said you updated it.
Harbor City mod doesn't have units at the bases by default?

Makes sense why some of the units are labeled as south, west, etc.
Thanks I also noticed that my changed settings didn't save. I disabled fire callouts (I did it right after downloading the mod), yet, my first call was for a vehicle fire.
