LAPD did have one If you're hiding in a heavily armoured residence, what tactics ...

Yeah for a while they did, but then they discontinued it when they got the first But that was like a long time ago that they did that.

Dude that thing is a beast, glad someone came up with the idea for the firecat.

We haven't got to that unit yet but I hate that unrealistic water cannon armored car unit and won't be using it.

I think it would be more realistic to use a fire engine to do that job as I've witnessed happening in my city once.

What suggestions do you guys have in regards to this unit?

While it is true that LAPD or LASD does not have a water cannon unit, IThey do have more than enough to make up for it with their bearcats, since one of their bearcats is equipped with a modular ladder unit that allows them to assault a building high up through a window. Goog, I would personally say just replace it with like another bearcat that has the system I just mentioned, because whenever they have been deploying for riots, especially as of late for what has been going on down here in the city, I've been seeing them deploying D-Platoon with a bearcat behind them, with an officer sitting in the top turret of the bearcat.

I've also noticed that LAPD has been deploying a strike team of like 12+ officers on a couple of unmarked suburbans and they have been riding around town and responding to stuff quickly. LA County is not messing around with this curfew, I'll tell you that much right now.

But anyways, yeah, that's my personal opinion as a resident of the city of LA.

No worries,I can't find it anywhere on the topic...I still was tweaking the skin.I'll post a picture once done.

Just to let you guys know what's going on...I spent all weekend slowly going through all the ambulances, swapping all the new low poly models and have completed all of them.

I have to jump back into the police folder and finish them.I think this is going to make a huge difference in the big picture for lag as most of the models I've completed have been reduced at least 50% total poly count and some as much as 75%.

My plan over the next few weeks is to get all completed high poly models reduced and back to CFD so he can finish lighting them. This has added extra work and time for us but in the end it will be worth the effort if it makes the game run smoother and not as laggy.

The game will be all the better for it, so yeah, it doesn't matter if it takes longer, as long as in the end, we are able to play a sub-mod that isn't as laggy or is way smoother than normal, I will personally take that time and effort and put it to good use by playing the hell out of this sub-mod, it's gonna be so nice to have an updated LA mod with modern units, I can't wait to see how it's all gonna turn out in the end.

Goog, CFD, Itchboy and all the other modders who have made this game what it is today with their amazing mods and hard work and time and effort put into modding this game, I thank you for making this game what it is today with mods.

Hello guys, I am still working on Edgewater but however this is a side project. I have been working on this for a few months and I'd like to share some skins that have been put into Em4. Credits to Itchboy, Slatedragon  for models, myself for skinning  a few of these and Mentor for the Ocean city mod (I am using it as a base)

    dude those are cool,

I wish someone would make a gta emergency vehicle mod for em4, those are gta style liveries I see.

  5. I Agree with http://www.emergency-planet.com/profile/58750-thatoneiowan/

Depending on the type of cpu you have it could seriously bottleneck the graphics card making it run slow and therefore not in the way you would like it.

In my opinion the best thing to do would be to get the model of your motherboard and try to see what cards are compatible with it so that the card can run much more smoothly.

So far, it has the right shape and form for a fire engine from that era. I'd straighten up some vertices and lines on the rear part, since it would appear that it sticks upwards a bit instead of going straight.

Another issue I can see is that some of your polygons have 'gaps' in them. They probably arent 'attached' to each other through their vetices. The gaps can be closed using the Weld tool in the submesh section.

Zmodeler2 has an Align tool that you can use to clean up some of the issues of straightening the mesh up.

No issues with double posting once. Just a reminder not to do it too often or it will result in a verbal warning. Someone is bound to eventually post on here, so there is no need to catapult yourself to the top again.

If you accidentally posted something and want it deleted, I will clean that up for you, just say the word.

http://www.emergency-planet.com/profile/58368-itchboy/How do I use the align tool to clean up the straightening issues?

  7. Yeah, I have some modeling skills just trying to get vehicles to show up in game right now.

Edit: well here it is, one side modeled of a Ford C Fire Pumper, my best attempt at least.

  8. Hi everyone,

I was thinking about making a mod based around a city called Vintage town (fictional) which only has 3 or 4 stations and the town is going to be medium sized (hopefully). In Vintage Town everybody knows each other and families enjoy prosperous times just like their family members have before them. This city is still one of the only cities in the USA that still has a drive-in movie theater and a malt shop along with a few other relics from days long gone in other American cities. The other thing about this city is that its city council has decided to purchase emergency service and utility vehicles from the 1930s-1980s only it will not upgrade its vehicles to modern day era, they feel that it doesn't keep with the look of the town.

I hope you all will like this mod. Now here is a list of some of the fire apparatus's and other town agency vehicles

    Vintage Town Fire Department.

    Station 1(HQ):

    Engine 1

    Squad 1(Actual Squad)

    Station 2:

    Engine 2

    Rescue Engine 22

    Reserve Engine 72(Spare/Not Staffed)

    Rescue Battalion 3

    Hazmat 3

Station 4(Volunteer, volunteers called from off map with script)

    Engine 44-1

    Tanker 44-2

    Brush 44-3

    Assistant Chief 44-4(On Map)

    Patrol-4

    Patrol-5

    Patrol-6

    Prisoner Transport Van

Ill go into the TEC once i have some progress done on other units. For now i hope you enjoy the mod and i will try and bring you an update with unit pictures soon.

I am currently looking for someone that can do some good skins for the models I make. Please contact me via pm if you can do so.

I am also looking for a good modeler who can help provide models, images will be provided for the perspective modeler on the team. Contact via pm if interested.
