  1. Port Police and LAPD dive teams are focused more on criminal investigation and evidence recovery then on life saving rescue. While they do train and work beside LAFD and LACoFD's dive teams in rescue situations, they, like the FBI's Dive Unit in LA are primarily focused on Law Enforcement related underwater issues.
    Would a LAFD SWR team be more appropriate?
  2. How about having paramedic be able to change into turnout gear with a blue helmet. They could have a measure of protection from the fire and they could heal. They would be able to use fire extingushers and such, but not hoses and cutters. This still doesen't solve the problem of a paramedic FF though.
    Make them firefighters with the 'Heal' command. And give firefighters the 'Get Stretcher' command? I'd be up for that.
  3. Can we have little cars that can turn into motor boats, and airplanes? All classes can go in them, and the car can heal. It also has gun ports and rocket launchers, and scuba suits. It can teleport.
    Fantastic! At least one person on here has a sense of humour.

    My only complaint was that he forgot to ask for a choice of lightbar and siren.

  4. los angeles county dept of health services, which oversees all EMS in the county, has a rule/protocol stating that ALS/paramedic units, whether they are squads, ambulances, engines, must have 2 paramedics on board in order to respond to emergency calls as ALS units
    Very odd. Over here, an the equivalent would be a paramedic resource, that is, a car, bike, motorbike or even an ambo that has a paramedic on - hence, we could provide ~200 paramedic units at any one time rather than 100 (still appallingly low mind) meaning that we double the number of punters who can get paramedic care (not that you need that for itchy teeth).

    And what ALS kit do you need? A few venflons, drugs, fluids and airways? They're not all that expensive when you consider the cost of the paramedic in the first place.

  5. Paramedic can be either a full Paramedic resource, or a Paramedic Assessment resource, and BLS is staffed with all EMT-B level personnel.
    I've never understood the rationale behind having paramedic trucks and EMT trucks - why don't they split 41 of those para crews to make 82 mixed crews meaning that every punter gets a paramedic?
  6. I would suggest that any large international city would be good and most people would enjoy that.

    However, I would suggest New York because most people are very familiar with their fire and police departments through the media and the copious amounts of information online.

    So;

    Place in the World : United States

    Where in the US : Manhattan

    Time of place : Today World

    Style : Modern
