It was until I decided to go and get it from Direct 2 Drive. I posted that on the other thread. Maybe there is a place on the activation screen that does ask about all users but I'll need to pay a little more attention.

Nope. It was asking for the whole serial again and I so I need to keep retrieving the code from the Direct 2 Drive site. Frustrating.

Hello, I have one computer that I'm activating EM4 on. It has three profiles set up where one is the admin, the other two are for my users (my mother and nieces). I installed it using the admin profile and activated it there too. Now when my niece wants to play the game, she needs to activate it too? The otther profiles (both are configured as 'users',) also need to activate the game? I thought since it was activated under the admin profile and as long as it's installed on the same computer that it doesnt need to be activaited again. No? KAreem

Oh cool. I hope they will add it to the 1.9 mod. Is there a thread that highlights the newer 1.9 Mod?

I dont recall ever hearing any of the police units or any others saying "10-97" when they've arrived on scene. I see this wav file in the Mod folder. Shouldnt I be hearing this?

It's not SDRAM - sorry about that. It's DIMMs.

Not a problem; still a great game although I've done a little tweaking to the config files.

I think I got it now. When I was opening the .xml file, it was opening as a Dreamweaver CS4 file and so I was editting it in Dreamweaver thinking that that was okay. Apparently not. So, I used Notepad and all seemed to be fine thus far. I have a question regarding game play: I've noticed that the only time that the units respond with the siren (and lights) is if they're already out on patrol. I was hoping that the siren would also be turned on when I call them from the menu. Their lights come on but no siren when they're called from the main menu.

Well, just to test, in the freeplaybase file, I only changed one of the ambulance count settings to "10" instead of the default number of 4. And that's all it took. As for the fp-parametersendless file, I followed all suggestions on the instructions here in this site. And that's when it turns off the ability to buy stuff.

Are the changes to be made to the files in the LA Mod folder or the Data folder?

Fearing that there was a problem with the copy, I went ahead and bought a downloaded copy from Direct2 Drive and reinstalled that version. I again made the changes in the fp_parameters file and it doesnt seem to like it. It turns off the ability to buy additional units. I also cant change anything in the freeplaybase.xml file but that makes all of the units unavailable. I can't access any of them. So, I'm not sure what's going on. I changed the files mentioned in the instructions on the website but I'm not sure whats going on. Kareem

It came with a my laptop purchase via ebay.

For some reason, every time to change some settings in the freeplay file, the ability to buy more firetrucks, police cars, or anything else becomes disabled. I cant ever buy more stuff. So, when I reinstalled the backed up file hoping that everything will be fine, I still cant buy anything. I was before. I've already reinstalled the game. Any suggestions? EM4

I was just trying to change weather to eliminate the rain and change the amount of time before the first call comes in. Sometimes the calls happen too fast or too frequently I could never finish up with one call before the next came in. I ran the program again and it seemed to work this time. It took two runs before it all seemed to work. As for the changing the number of firetrucks and other units, when I changed the numbers in the freeplaybase.xml, and I started the game, the trucks were all grayed out (not available). So I changed it all back. Not sure what I did wrong...

I have edited the fp_parameters_endless.xml file so that I could have different weather and events. But it's not changing anything in the game. It still seems to have the default settings. I have the EM4 (not Deluxe) version. Also, which file do I change to edit the number of firetrucks to have available. I don't want to keep buying them every time I need more. KAreem

I still see a folder in the LANG folder called DE. Should it be there? It has a lot of wav sound files inside. I wish I could replace them. By the way, just noticed your NY Mod banner. Is this available yet? Cant seem to find it.

The interface is still in German and sometimes the characters will speak German, no offense but looking for all english.

So, just replace both folders UI and LANG in the German game with the English ones? Which name? "heyjoojoo" or "Kareem" Also when installing the German Deluxe version, should I uninstall the regular version (with mods and all) or go ahead and install over it?

I have the German version thinking that I thought I read somewhere that it can be changed to English. Where are the instructions on how to do this? I've seen a lot of instructions on the internet but wanted to get better suggestions here. Is this possible? :
