  1. I don't know if this will help any but i believe the issues is with the graphic card driver may be outdated. I have tried the updated mod on three different machines and only have the CTD issue on one of them. It runs fine on my mac book with an updated Nividia graphic driver and my Samsung ultra book with an newer intel chipset, but my desktop that has a more powerful ATI card but I cant get an updated driver crashes. Hope this info helps someone.

  2. The weird thing about Vram, If you go to dxDiag it will show you different then was is dedicated to the grahpicss card. For my laptop my dxdiag tells me i have 4gb worth of Vram, what it really means is that 4000mbs are being used for the pagefile and I really have 512mb for dedicated graphics card. You can just go to http://www.systemreq...ntslab.com/cyri and that will tell you your graphic specs. so dont be fooled by the DxDiag pagefile

If you are using Windows 7 no matter how much Vram you have windows will still set some of the system memory for video.
  3. Hi, I have some questions about real FDNY.

First, How many firefighters in ENGINE, Ladder, Rescue?

Second, Firefighter captain is at the ladder only?

Third , I heared that NYPD ESU repond to not only

law enforcement but also car accident, and I want to know does they

repond to all accident occured in there area or just respond to accident related with

Police or criminal (ex. Police car crashed with civilian car and police officer trapped or Criminal's car is crashed with

    other car and criminal trapped.)

And when ESU respond to car accident . There big truck is also respond ?

ESU responds to various phsycial rescue's either with the FDNY or alone. They can handle everything from rope rescues all the way up to some Hazmat situations. They also respond to any SWAT call. The small trucks and the patrol units and the large trucks are the heavy resuce trucks. Each units responds according to the type of call and how much equipment and manpower is needed.
  4. i think i already asked about 100 something page back & i can't remember what you said did you say there will or will not be chase command on police units. i ask because everytime i get a call for stolen vehicle on nyc mod i either have to shoot the car up till he gets out or spike the tires. Sorry If I Already Asked Im just really excited about the release geting closer this is the best mod i ever seen in my life

If this helps you any you can use the police helicopter and have it follow the car, this will make the driver stop the car and get out and run.
  5. You misunderstand... What I mean is that the Haz-Mat company 1 truck and it's equiptment truck can now permit FF's to get hazmat suits out of the equiptment truck, we forgot about this so the guys can be sent in normal gear, but not change into the appropriate attire to fight hazmat fires on that truck... So that is what we fixed in the patch, Squad does not and will not gain hazmat capabilities in the upcomming patch... The diver suit change option imo is not necessary since divers are rarely needed and 3 units in this mod have the ability to carry the guy to the scene... Just staff him on the R1 on start-up and he's on the map, or call in the jet-ski carrier, or the USCG birdie and you got divers=)

Ok sorry about the mix up I was really just tring to help you guys make this mod as accurate as possibe not tying to correct the great job that you guys are already doing with the mod. I have a real interest in different fire and police depts, so i spend some time researching them learn about different units and their functions in there city, and even though alot of citys have the same units alot of time they carry out different functions, for ex. in some city's haz-mat is handled by the heavy rescue company's. So again great job on the mod

  6. R1 doesnt fully staff at start-up I just add a diver to it's loadout when the game starts... Adding one at start-up would be dangerously slow because of how he waddles if you needed R1 for something.... Changing into dive gear is a later possibility but not a priority right now, we did add the ability to change into hazmat gear for the patch since that one is probrably more useful than the diver is.

Adding the ability to change into hazmat to R1 is a good idea but I think it would be better for the Squad because from what I've seen and been reading heavy resuce in NY don't really handle Haz-Mat jobs those are usually for the Squads or the one Haz-mat company that operates in the city. The diver ability would better suit R1 since those types of rescues usually fall on Heavy Rescue or ESU.

Here's the link about Rescues Company's and Squads.

  7. Just remember no one ever said making a mod would be easy. Hell I started making a simple reskin, or so I thought. Then my wife and I has a Son, then we moved, and then, and then ... Life happens, throw in computer failures, and other unforeseen events and a simple mod can become quite complex. Then you have to look at one other aspect. Everyone makes a mod for a different reason, therefore their units, details reflect that.

    Example;

THE New York Mod: Not a lot to say about them. They were the first ones on the block, but they had one goal in mind. Create a game with the type of depth and immersion no one has ever seen. Have they achieved that? Probably, but look how long they have worked on that mod to get it to where it is now

The New York Mod: (Mikey and Company): Not sure why they wanted to create a NY Mod, why not though? They did a pretty good job. People aren't as pleased with it (at the moment), but that doesn't make it bad. People have different taste, I've played it and it's pretty good. Once again though, they put years into that mod's creation.

The NY Mod: You!: From that start this was a "Hold Over" mod, you said it yourself. The only problem with that was it's popularity. I'm sure at the time no one could have accurately gauged how popular this mod would become, and how fast it would become as popular as it did. You went from making simple reskins to realistic units. Then you even went the extra step and started working on the map too. However, and this is the good part. Look at how much time you've put into this, and your team. You've spent less then a year working on this mod, and most of it was done solely but yourself. Yeah .. You had help but we'd still be at the loading screen if we were waiting on your help to come through.

Big picture, for now it appears every NY Mod has accomplished what they set out to do, and more. Since the TRUE NY Mod is on hold for now your mod has that extra fire in it because of the blood, sweat, and tears you've put into it. I'd say now is the time to tone out the other mods and do what you think is right for this mod. Instead of making large improvements work on one small piece at a time. Who cares if it's New York Submod V24.1.0 as long as it's working you have nothing to be ashamed of.

    This is so true.

  8. Version two was already in the works when Version 1 was released... this mod is not completed at all, it was just released so that users would have something to play with that was different from the LA mod gameplay that everyone is so familiar with=) There is still much to be done to finish this mod off, just updates will come slower than LA's system to prevent bugs and people confusing versions while trying to tinker with it online for ex... Alot easier the less versions of something roaming about there are (remember for the orig game there are only 1.0-1.3)

Yeap that's what we wish to avoid we do not want this mod to be "easy" and have it do everything for you, this mod is meant to challenge the player more than the other mods will, but without requiring as much clicking as the original game did which was kinda horrible... I tried to set it up for a middle ground and I hope I hit the mark on that.

You did and thanks for an awsome MOD, but what about the emergency management van I asked about above it would add a unint who can pretty much call any unit on the map and kind take control of any kinda for joint operperation going on on the map between NYPD, FDNY and Technical.

  9. Don't know if you guys have thought about this but how about adding an Office of Emergency Managment Unit. The link includes a picture of the OEM van.

OEM NYC Office of Emergency Management Van, Upper East Side, New York City

I also still think it would be a good idea to add some rescue roles to ESU, Ideally when the normal NYPD officers need rescue assistance ESU is usually called on instead of FDNY especially when there is a car accident or a water rescue. Just a thought.

On second thought don't worry about that ESU question it would be good from a cosmetic point of view but would also make the game kinda easy.

  10. Again great mod i have been playing it all day. In a later version to make it a bit more real I would change the units housed at the fire stations and move the squad to station 2 with the hazmat unit since thats how they are house in New York because the Squads handle Hazmat operations. To replace the unit in the other station I would use the Special equipment truck to put with rescue 1 or make a station just for rescue 1 and the special equipment truck. Whatever you guys decide to do in future releases it is still a great mod. Outstanding work.

  11. First let me say great Mod, this has been a long time coming. I just have one question will the ESU units be able to handle rescue operations and will the ESU heavy rescue and small rescue have the rescue equipment on them.

I agree somewhat. The pursuit/arrest command sometimes made things too easy. It would be better if it was just pursue and not an automatic arrest, to make things more challenging. I miss being able to call for backup too. This is just version one though.

    Some other things:

Traffic Agents (Not Officers) do not carry guns. Their cars also don't have sirens and they wear light blue shirts. They are not Police Officers.

    Hats! NYPD PO's need 'em.

The Bat Chief and EMS Command seem useless. Then again it is V1 so you probably didn't add functionality for them yet. Hopefully you give us a Police Supervisor.

It would be nice if the PD was similar to the Fire Department in terms of vehicle parking (IE, cars parked in front of the precinct, and you can call officers out of the precinct to go into the parked cars)

REP trucks should be able to patrol. That is their entire purpose.

    I'll think of more later.

You can make the REP trucks patrol by going to the editor and adding the command

  12. I have found a couple work arounds that work for me. First the EMS unit issue is only with the permadics so if you just use the BLS ambulance with EMT's you won't have the same problem. Also with the firefighter not connecting to the Engine thats only a problem with engine one and the reason they are running is to find the nearest engine with working hose connectors. I just use engine 2 and the brush truck for dealing with fires and use engine 1 to support the BLS ambulances I have patroling the city. Hope this helps someone and pardon my spelling.
