  1. I've found the fix for the black bars on the sides issue relating to the resolution after all of these years playing this game.  You have to right click on the game icon that launches the game, you then go to Properties, under that you go to Compatibility, under the settings, make sure the "Disable display scaling on high DPI setting is "Checked".  You will not be able to put any resolution you want in the .cfg file.

  3. I love this mod, this is probably the best mod I've played.  Is it possible to add more fire hydrants?  I think at least one should be placed out of every business and a couple for the residential areas, then some spaced out along the rural areas, just like in real life.  This will also give the firemen more areas to fill-up their tanks on their trucks.  Keep up the great work, this mod is great.

  4. It just seems like you guys are losing sight of the project, it seems like things have shifted a bit to the MP experience. I know you guys may still be working on the single player mod, as game/mod developers, don't you think that it's wasted time playing MP and not putting that time and effort towards your main product. If the MP game is at a level to play MP all the time, then why keep holding your main product back from release. Please don't get upset or people who are not even associated with the mod go off on the deep end and start talking trash. I'm just saying as someone who has been following this mod coming up on two years.

  5. You have to change the security settings on the file: right click on the file>select properties>select Security>select Users>then click Edit>select Users again>then place a "check" in the Full Control Allow box, then click apply or ok. Once you do this go back to the file, make the changes again, it will then allow you to save the file.

  6. The original NY mod has decided they want to use the engine trucks from this submod, so they have contacted the author of the model, so now by some weird circumstance I'm apparently no longer 'legally' allowed to use those models anymore, I mean ffs, really takes the piss.

So yeah guys watch out for these models in the never released NY mod (if it ever comes out) as unfortunately I cannot publicly release these units) :|

    Dyson

Don't sweat it Dyson, that mod ain't never coming out.

  7. What original NY mod? As far as I know, this is the only released standalone NY mod so far. So please enlighten me. :) The others are all submods. And yes, there are a couple of other standalone NY mods in production, but that doesn't mean they are going to be released, as proven many times in the past. We are not going to rename anything, just because other people do not know how to plan or create a strategy. Creating a work-in-progress topic is just plain dumb if you already have a team.

Our strategy was not to inform people about this mod BEFORE we actually could give people something to play with.

Some people will probably be offended by this post. I don't care, just understand it is not fair we have to deal with bullshit like renaming the mod while we used a different -well thought-out- strategy. Our 'plan of attack' actually works better for the kids, because they already have something to play with. In fact, a work-in-progress topic slows your whole mod progress down, no matter if you get smart or dumb questions.

Great post Hoppah, this is exactly what I was talking about in my earlier post, these other "New York" mods have been in the works for almost three years, that's crazy. I personally think that the "WIP" threads should have rules, if your mod is not finished in a year, we will delete it, unless you have some other issues that the moderators approve. Like I said before, you and your team had a plan and you excuted it and got the job done. The other mods should change their names to "Sorry, never going to be released New York Mod, we just like to show a bunch of staged pictures from the editor mod", lol. Keep up the great work again guys!!!!

  8. Just wanted to say I really love this new New York mod. I truly love the fact that you guys had a vision and you followed through on it. Keep up the great work, I know with the dream team creating this mod, we can't go wrong.

  9. I had a Demonstration,

But I needed like 6 cars for it, because there wasn't a SEK unit..

Maybe a good idea for next version?

Because all cars (police) have just 2 guys in it when I call them in, and that's not very nice when there is a demonstration / riot..

I had the demonstration event also and yes, it takes like all of your police cars to clear this event. Why can the passenger amount for the police van be increased also.

  10. Yeah I know. BTW, when I redirected vehicles, they all just follwed the path and when it ended, they all just clumpped together. I guess I did something wrong. And how do you complete the mission with the tree blocking the road? I tried moving it with the crane, chainsawing it (nothing happened to the tree), so what do I do, tow it away? :gruebel:

Hey how did you get them to redirect, I've tried several times but nothing happens for me?

  11. I really love this mod, I personally feel this is the best of them all. The only thing I see that I'd like to have improved is the response speed of the emergency vehicles. Once you activate the emergency lights the vehicle should move at top speed and once a vehicle is dispatched, it should be coming from it's station at top speed, just my opinion.
